  1. It has been purchased, you can get a day pass for the beach for $25. I’m not sure if the pool is open, but there are restrooms.
  2. A midship balcony most likely costs more than a forward balcony.
  3. We tried to get chairs in spice on the BA and it was always crowded, this was a NJ teachers convention week so a very full ship. I suspect it would be similar in august when the kids are out of school.
  4. 1 am curfew, I’m not sure about the activities by age but they tend to end up befriending kids their age. On one cruise I had a 15 and 17 year old in there and they hung in the same circle, next cruise had a 14, 14, and 16 year old and they had 3 different friend groups. They definitely spent more time socializing outside of the club than in the club, but were happy to have the club to meet up at.
  5. The kids menu in the specialty restaurants are the same as the MDR kids menus, nuggets, pizza, hot dog….
  6. I’m sure no one really cares about the 18 month old but for the parents. Personally I wouldn’t take a toddler on a cruise because when my kids were that age I’d prefer a vacation with a lot of things to do for kids that age, so I could enjoy myself too.
  7. I’d double check, some splash pads don’t allow diapered kids.
  8. There will be dozens of taxis lined up, begging to take you to Atlantis. There will be taxis outside of Atlantis to take you back.
  9. Not really, I don’t even think the tiny splash areas for diapered kids next to the regular splash areas even have standing water.
  10. Some rock ships have a splash area for diapered children and childcare.
  11. My daughter is currently at Newark airport ready to board her flight to MCO and then driving to Daytona, I’m hoping winds die down.
  12. Yes, there were vendors, there were also vendors on the beach in front of Atlantis, it’s fair game. I don’t know if there is access to inside restaurants but I doubt they’d be included in the price. The buffet was more than adequate. ETA the most annoying vendor was a guy selling drinks, since we obviously had access to the open bar. My 19 year old son bought a cigar, that vendor was very aggressive and my 6’2” son was afraid of him. Banana boats, jet skis, hair braiding….
  13. Note allergies on reservation, on embarkment go to the open MDR for lunch, the dietary manager should come over to discuss meals. My daughter has celiac and would order her dinner and breakfast for the following day each night (they would make whatever she wanted). She would just call when we were headed to the restaurant (ate every breakfast in the buffet, they would find her with an enormous tray of gf food). Three cruises, worked perfectly each time.
  14. Newark Penn station is the first stop after NY Penn station.
  15. Having traveled with our 5 kids (at one point having 5 teens), I was amazed at how often I ran into them on cruises, there really is a finite number of places for them to be, so I could easily find them. On our last cruise they were 14, 14, 16, 19 and 20, so the older 2 stuck together and met other people in spite of being too old for the club (they were concerned about that). When they’re out and about at home, I just need to trust, on a cruise I see them all of the time. Fortunately we live in the same town where my husband and I grew up, lots of families have strong roots, so eyes are everywhere.
  16. Children can order off of the ship wide kids menu for free everywhere. I have had my 5 kids go to the teen club at 14, 15, 16 and 17 (boys and girls), they met so many others. It’s more of a way to meet others to spend every minute with for the rest of the cruise.
  17. You might want to post this on the NCL board, I believe currently it depends on the ship.
  18. I’m basing this on NCL, but we have 5 children, so we had 2 cabins with 1 of us booked in each. One parent could take all 5 off of the ship even though some of the children were booked in my cabin.
  19. There is a garage and a parking lot, if there are multiple sailings in a week sometimes the garage is full and folks need to park in the lot instead. There is room for all.
  20. But what if the grandparents want to stay on the ship and the parents want to take their child off of the ship?
  21. I like to let the onion (I use red) and jalapeño soak in the lime juice a bit, and then add the avocado and cilantro and salt (sometimes tomato). I love garlic but not in guacamole or salsa.
  22. While I’ve never been to Bermuda, they have laws against open containers in public. I don’t know if I would feel comfortable pouring my drink into my cup and leaving an establishment. My son got a fine here in the US near his college campus (which is well policed). Fortunately they lowered the charge to littering and was reduced to $500.
  23. Pretty much all alcoholic beverages are gf, seltzers, ciders, hard liqour…
  24. It really doesn’t matter if they tolerate it, any gluten is a risk for internal damage. My daughter went to the GI and asked if maybe it went away because there were times she was glutened and didn’t get sick, she was told that it does not go away and any gluten is a risk for damage.
  25. I know there are 100% gf beers, I was responding to a poster who suggested a gluten reduced beer for the OP, who has celiac.
