Yes, two dollar bills are legal tender but they are not something you see used. They were reintroduced to eliminate the need for lots on one dollar bills and it never caught on. 1's, 5's, 10's, and 20's are what you received as change in stores. I can't tell you the last time I saw a two dollar bill in a store, they just aren't something people use everyday.

It better not be a lot of snow! DH is supposedly flying out tomorrow for a business trip and son hurt his back playing rugby! Rain/snow mix does not work well with snow blowers.

Nice idea but how were they going to cash in the ticket if they won? Unless you were going to do it for them, it would have been hard for them to get any winnings.

No, kids can't hang out and watch. Casino staff will ask them to leave. They are allowed to walk through if going to another venue but they won't be able to watch. Maybe the kids could go to the kids club for a while.

The crew appreciate the tips but the dollar coins that some like to give and the two dollar bills are not something they can easily use in port. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy two dollar bills at the bank for a cruise but if I have them, like you do, I wouldn't hesitate to use them as tips. If I happened to be going to the bank, I would likely change them into ones and fives.

When we have MTD, we never have to slip anyone a tip to get the same server and table everynight. We go the first night and find a table we like and waitstaff we like. When we leave that first night, we stop at the desk on the way out and ask for that table and staff for the rest of the week. Never an issue, no money changes hands.

I stay away from FB Marketplace, too many horror stories. Many communities have yard sale groups that are for their town. I have posted stuff on that before, cash only, driveway pickup only or meet at the Police station meeting spot that has a camera. My town also has an everything free group that is only for people in the town. They limit how many items you can pickup each week so no one hoards all the good stuff. They also allow ISO posts (in search of) that allows people to post what they need and helps push people to get rid of the stuff they are holding onto. With the FB group run by a local and moderated, they run out anyone who is breaking the rules.

There have been a couple of threads about this as some are seeing suite missing from their set sail pass and also their C&A status. One person had to show their invoice at the port to be allowed into the suite area. Seems to be a recent change from a software update which might not have been a planned change.

I would not sell Florida yet. You haven't even been able to stay there because of taking care of your parents. I would hold onto it until you actually get a chance to stay there and see if you like it. If you decide it is too small, then start looking for something you might like better. Don't make a rash decision you might regret. Also consider filing for an extension on the taxes so you can just slow down and allow yourself to grieve and allow your wrist to heal. I know you have to get things in order for your sister but think of yourself too.

I enjoy avocado toast at home but have only seen guacamole on toast in the WJ. Have you seen sliced avocado in the WJ?

Customer service should have been able to put you on the waitlist when you booked or when you called in. We just had to do that on an upcoming cruise and did it when booking. Only late seating was available when we booked but we waitlisted my time and have since cleared the waitlist.

One thing to understand is you need to be on the ship 90 minutes before sailing as they have to finalize the manifest. @njsmomwas able to board five minutes before sailing as she was there on a port of call. You and your family need to get checked in at the port and then board. Just give yourself plenty of time for unforeseen issues. If you stick with your plan to get there for 2pm for a 5pm departure you should be golden. 🙂

Definitely rent a car and explore on your own. The first day of the cruise tour is really a nothing day. Most people are travelling in that day and the tour guide was not even available to meet with anyone until the afternoon. We didn't know this until we got to the hotel, we were at Pike's, not Sophie Station, and ended up getting a ride to downtown to explore what we ended up seeing the next day anyway. We had flown into Anchorage and did a couple of days DIY and then flown out early the morning of the cruisetour to Fairbanks. We wish we had taken a later flight. Another couple waiting with us rented a car and went off road somewhere, I forget where they wanted to go but do know they got a car they were allowed to take off road. I would see if you can find out what time you are actually supposed to meet day 1 so you can actually do something that morning. The cruisetour also included transfer from the airport to the hotel which might not be an option coming in a day early but if you are getting a car at the airport it is a non-issue anyway.

I wonder if "good TA's" have some kind of HIPAA rule like doctors do. Some of us are very private. 😇

We did two of the extra excursions while at Denali that you can book with your tour guide once you meet them the first day. We did the ATV Adventure and the float excursion which it looks like they aren't doing now, just the rafting excursion. For the ATV, we did a two person side by side ATV which was like a dune buggy. I drove the whole time and DH just enjoyed the ride. We could have swapped when we stopped in the river bed. The river float we did was really fun and was more like class 2 and 3 rapids as the river was running high. At the time we went, there was also a rapids excursion that put in farther down the river and those that went said it was wild because the river was high. Looks like they have just one river excursion now, so not sure how rough it is. If they say they put in by the hotel, it is the easier part of the river. I didn't say May was like September. I shared our experience. As far as "the search results", no idea what results you are speaking of as all research we did for our Alaska cruises said it is very rare to see Northern Lights from a cruise ship in Alaska.

Seeing the Northern Lights on an Alaska cruise is pretty rare because it doesn't get dark enough. We were on a land tour in May and sunset was at 11pm.

You do not keep the lifejackets for the week, there are not enough for all families to hoard them in their cabins. You also do not take them off the ship, they are for use on the ship only. The same variety of lifejackets are available to use on Coco Cay. Those lifejackets should be left on the island for others to enjoy.

I got an email on 2/28 that states the same as the OP. I didn't get an email yesterday with a newsletter. I don't get any of the marketing or sales emails, not matter how many times I have tried to have it fixed. I only get stuff that goes out specifically related to C&A or to a booking.
