On Allure Now And I Got Covid So Now What?
sgmn replied to ReneeFLL's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Sorry to hear about you contracting Covid Renee. I've been MIA, also on a cruise, though in Europe and did not have Internet, so late to the thread. On the topic of paper products and plastic cutlery, I don't know why they haven't developed a proper kit for their quarantine guests. Proper plates, glasses, knives and forks with a cleaning kit for you to clean yourself . Similar to what quarantine hotels at airports had last year. At least you would get to eat off proper equipment. Also definitely a kettle and big supply of coffee, tea etc so you can make a hot drink whenever. A microwave would also be ideal to warm up food, but guess that may be a fire risk? They need to start thinking this through -

Potentially you could book a night in CPH before returning? Or if available a late flight -
Anyone seeing any Covid counts on RC ships?

So sorry this happened to you. There needs to be a better plan for those in quarantine . I hope you feed back to head office in MIA your direct experiences -
You need to test one day before. Which in our case is a Sunday, not easy to do in Rome on Sunday !

On Harmony now, wife got Covid!
sgmn replied to YankeesFan4Life's topic in Royal Caribbean International
At least normally with room service you get proper cutlery and plates and it's not a 24/7 experience with no other access to other foods/drinks On the celebrity board there is one thread from a poster on a transatlantic who's husband has been in quarantine since 30Apr, still showing positive yesterday and they will not test again until the 11th. Believe they are suite pax and she says he can only get room service menu -

I think there needs to be more care for pax stuck in a room 24/7 . I've heard some pax are only allowed room service menu. There should be a dedicated team looking after these folk, and a proper thought through process about their 'sentence'. For instance: There should be a kettle with tea/coffee making provisions in each quarantine cabin Proper plates, glasses and cutlery with a pack to clean them yourself, available in your room so you don't have to eat off paper plates and with plastic cutlery. I will definitely be thinking about what to take on board in case this happens to me and have some back up plans. On a long cruise you could be incarcerated for 5 days or more -

How long was your cruise ? Seems to me short, less than 7 days, cruises are the way to go. So many stories of people testing positive once home -
Edge Transatlantic Testing positive for Covid
sgmn replied to bananavan's topic in Celebrity Cruises
So sorry to hear he can only eat from the room service menu. On top of everything else it's awful to have the same limited food choice day after day. I'm sure i read other ships allowed their quarantined pax food from the dinning rooms. They seem to be falling down on their duty of care I hope he is OK and is able to rejoin you soon. -

Enjoy your 24 hours in Barcelona and safe travels home. I've enjoyed reading your blog 😊 -
So I know this is Royal Caribbean site but Celebrity is really annoying me. Tried numerous times to call them and no answer. Yesterday was on the phone for 1 and half hours before I gave up. My agent tried for over 3 hours and no answer. This is the Captain's Club uk number but think it just feeds into the world wide call centre They dont answer emails either. So frustrating. What do you do when you have a problem which isn't fixable on the website ? Sorry about the rant but they market themselves as a luxury cruise line and you can't even speak to them, let alone sort out the problem

Live on board Silhouette for a quick cruise to the Norwegian Fjords
sgmn replied to groryjm's topic in Celebrity Cruises
@groryjm any chance you can ask guest services or your concierge what the expected total on board is for the next sailing leaving the 7th? It's now showing sold out on line but that may be because its two days before departure. You're coming back to glorious weather, predicted to reach 25c by next week in the South -
On Celebrity it's mandatory to have a test at the pier (at a cost) if you have not had the booster or two initial jabs within 270 days. You also have to have multiple tests (at a cost) on board There is no Celebrity provision for testing at Italian home ports if you are 'up to date', I.e. have been boostered and/or had the initial two jabs within 270 days. No further tests required for the cruise, but it means you have to source your own pre departure test one day before.

You can pre register for Rome airport on arrival. Tests are €20 https://www.adr.it/web/aeroporti-di-roma-en/covid-19 https://www.adr.it/form-preaccettazione

Thanks for the link, very interesting. I agree that Celebrity may of jumped the gun and put the wrong info up on their site

I'm sure last summer some cruise lines were offering free tests on departure in Europe. They could start early, say 0700 for those staying near the port

Anyone seeing any Covid counts on RC ships?
sgmn replied to Jingerwoppy's topic in Royal Caribbean International
No I'm retired. I wanted to go to a party so I was testing every day from day 5 to 9. The party was on day 10. As I was still positive I didn't go and stopped testing at day 9 as you needed two clear days testing . Next time I tested was to fly a month later, I was negative then. -
If its Celebrity's policy, then why aren't they mandating it everywhere in Europe. Especially UK where covid levels are high on Silhouette. I think it's Italian government rule, though it may be that Celebrity misinterpreted the rules last week

I was still testing positive on day 9, not sure if I was still contagious but this was Feb when the advice was five days and two negative tests or 10 days. Now it's highly suggested you quarantine, not mandatory
