  1. The problem with that is one does not have a Zenith seapass card until one has sailed the first cruise as a Zenith. I achieved Zenith quite a while before I took my first Zenith cruise. So I would have been barred from membership until after that cruise. What about a forwarded copy of the welcome email from the Zenith concierge?
  2. I'm amazed that 9215 was the last cabin available. That's definitely a deluxe veranda (formerly a 1A) and, as first off the hump, has the largest balcony. I normally get the ones on the aft of the hump, so I will be interested to hear how the forward-facing one is for wind.
  3. That happened to me once at the airport. Fortunately, the curbside check dude had given me a printed boarding pass when I checked my luggage. Now I never leave home without one.
  4. Thanks for your review. I was on Silhouette at Thanksgiving and it was a great experience. I didn't notice much wear and tear. The staff was great.
  5. I'll be interested to hear about your non-suite experience and the MDR. I've decided that I'm not paying the current suite prices. And I'm certainly not paying the current solo prices!
  6. It would never have entered my mind that Celebrity would do this if I hadn't read about it on these boards. So now I know I have to check the prices two ways. PIA. And the results are astounding.
  7. I'm amazed that Celebrity has any feet left to shoot itself in--there's been so much of that lately.
  8. The solos I know including me are flocking AWAY from them.
  9. I'm not concerned about the security alerts because I no longer ever get off the ship in Nassau. It's an automatic sea day for me.
  10. Looking forward to your review and your outfits! I probably won't be sailing Ascent given the current upcharge for solos, but perhaps Celebrity will come to its senses some day. Boarding from Terminal 25 and the suite lounge is fabulous, even though I set off the alarms because I forgot I now have artificial knees! Although we were the first on the ship, my luggage vanished in the process--worst luggage delivery ever. My alert cabin steward finally found it lurking in a hallway somewhere shortly before sailaway.
  11. Thanks. I think what happened is my shortcut died when my computer crashed. Although I think I used to get emails also.
  12. I also got my 5 points. But several cruises I never took or booked have showed up in my history. No points attached to them. Celebrity IT strikes again!
  13. I used to get the Exciting Deals e-mails, but this post has made me realize that I no longer do. Can anyone advise how I get on that list again? Have no idea how I did it before. Thanks.
  14. I've always enjoyed my experiences on Celebrity ships. The decisions coming down from Miami not so much. Waiting to see if they quit gouging solos and get more realistic on their suite pricing. This year most of my travel $ will probably go to land trips. Am also looking at other lines.
  15. The shoreside concierges generally only contact those in upper level suites.
  16. Even if I could afford it, I wouldn't tolerate it.
  17. When sailing from Tampa, be sure to book the valet parking at the terminal. Otherwise you could be in for a long walk. I didn't know about it when I sailed from there last January.
  18. Maybe they could, but that's not how they do it on Celebrity. The waitstaff and the sommeliers are in different departments and do not share tips with one another.
  19. I just got a marketing piece in the mail today about the 75% off second guest promo. It states "Single occupancy guests paying 200% cruise fare are eligible." What the devil does that mean? If one is paying 200%, how does one take advantage of the 75% off the second person fare? And this does not play out when I price potential cruises. I still show $2-3000 more for a single in upper cabins than two people would pay. I don't price out insides, oceanviews, or standard balconies. Sorry, Celebrity, my travel dollars are going elsewhere this year.
  20. I ate at the Lawn Club Grill on the Silhouette on the Thanksgiving cruise. The mac & cheese was horrid, a congealed mess. I thought the pizza was just average, as was the rest of the meal. Yes, the cookie was good. I would never pay to go there again.
  21. Actually the answer is yes if you are leaving from Terminal 25. I have not recently sailed from the other terminals, so can't speak to those, but I sailed from Terminal 25 in November.
  22. I just sailed from Terminal 25 in Fort Lauderdale in November. There was a Retreat/Zenith luggage drop area next to the Retreat entrance. Sky suites are part of Retreat, so they would be included. Not sure if the sign said Retreat/Zenith, but it certainly said Retreat and Zeniths are able to use the Retreat entrance. Luggage tags for disembarcation have always said Retreat/Zenith or Suite/Zenith.
  23. I don't know about "most" Zeniths, how could I? I can tell you that this Zenith finds the FB groups pretty much useless and full of misinformation
