  1. Glad you have had a nice cruise in spite of the tumble Helpful to note that the doors are not all marked (and clear glass) going into the Haven--that the decks with the staterooms are solid doors Re dailies-- one cruise line had a tear off with the daily so you weren't carrying the whole page, I think that was X When we sail--I generally don't use my phone/email/text etc often and don't use the apps...as they didn't list events/menus etc though if NCLs app is useful that may change. At home I can have my laptop and cell both engaged in writing / surfing etc On a ship I only use an ipad for reading books. As much time as I normally spend online etc--I would need unlimited streaming -- DH brings tech for potential work related things.
  2. Enjoying your cruise updates And appreciate you posting the dailies. From what I read-- there than "donna"- there are no other production shows... Hoping some of the better music/bands/duos etc stay on board til after the TA 😉
  3. And its is NOT discretionary... reading the NCL FAQs-- Haven pax pay $25 pp pd before paying Butler " What is the onboard service charge? Why is there a service charge? The reason there's a fixed service charge is an important one: Our Crew (as are the crew from other lines) is encouraged to work together as a team. Staff members including complimentary restaurant staff, stateroom stewards and behind-the-scenes support staff are compensated by a combination of salary and incentive programs that your service charge supports. How much is the charge? Onboard Service Charges are additional. How much are the service charges? For bookings made on or after January 1, 2023: $25.00 USD per person per day for The Haven and Suites; $20.00 USD per person per day for Club Balcony Suite and below;
  4. Want some Cheese with that "wine" ? Frosty bev with ice per the doc sounds good. Hope you feel better soon
  5. Maybe- yet-- think bout the sweaty folks that get into pools and hot tubs without showering first... or the folks who sit in hot tubs drinking all day without leaving for a restroom Or the sweaty folks on the loungers without towels... lots of yuck to go around
  6. Good the know. Hope he is staying on the ship through spring. Name please and TY
  7. @complawyer agree. We believe in grats and appreciate those who serve so well. TY for your thoughts
  8. Can I get your email to send you a request for that pleas and TYVM
  9. 🤣😍 Hope they know those angels can't be on the Haven pool deck (over 16)
  10. Hotel Director and Security should be advised " Why can’t children who are not toilet trained use the pools on cruise ships? Children who wear any type of swimming diaper or other diapers are not allowed in pools because fecal matter may contaminate the water. This can expose other swimmers to fecal matter that is potentially infectious." https://www.hhs.gov/guidance/document/cdc-vessel-sanitation-program-frequently-asked-questions And from a UK site "Maritime law states that babies who are not toilet trained CAN NOT use cruise ship pools as a result the more family friendly cruise lines have created splash areas which are easier to keep clean thus offering a great place for babies in swim nappies to play." These are by the vanishing edge pools, do they drain/circulate with those pools?
  11. TYVM It seemed excessive. We expect the Butlers are paid by NCL for their expertise and status in their respective contracts. And we expect to tip. That # felt high
  12. @Sthrngary We recently read that the Butlers and Concierge for Haven are not included in the grats charged by NCL. Is that a newer development or typical for NCL and Haven. We thought we read a suggested grat rate for the Butlers. Any insight on this please and TYVM
  13. Hey there This is timely as I was going to post asking about Haven. And we were going to email pre-sailing concierge So our Butler and Concierge don't get anything from the grats we are charged? We are trying Haven (past 6 sailings were MSC YC) and heard that we are expected to tip the butler $25 pp per day. We are accustomed to giving envelopes with notes of appreciate and cash to butler and all those folks who make it wonderful. Have you heard any $ number floating around? Thanks in advance
  14. Very encouraging to hear. Saw a review that complained about the Prima Haven...and so far your experience seems to set the record straight. So sorry about the spill/and fall. CYA moves for certain by NCL which am certain is typical for the industry given the esquires lining up to rep past pax Your Butler can likely bring you some ice, an adult bev (if you can with pain meds for knee/ankle). Assuming you didn't eat all of the choc from yesterday..along with fresh snacks--your butler wont let you starve 😎
  15. I recall Venice needing to deal with the impact on the buildings, waterways https://europeforvisitors.com/venice/articles/venice-cruising-changes.htm
  16. @graphicguy was that a Haven reception w officers? TY for all of the pics. Enjoying the insights
  17. Google deckplans and ncl prima. There are links to the "sister" cabins starboard that will give you an idea about your room in general Happy sailing
  18. We are looking forward to this ship as we aren't big venue - crowds- cacophony folks. We like the look of the visual small spaces with gathering areas and the wrap around decks, multiple pools, shaded areas And we like the ship within a ship thing. Part of the complaining could be from the "we always did it this way" mindset-- of larger venues ? idk. Interesting that Virgin went this way as well. It didn't sound like this guy used his butler service of Haven either. A thought on the entertainment-- Haven't seen the dailies-- If the Syd's and comedy club, and shows in the main theater are all going at once--plus some lounge acts, then there are plenty of places for folks to go each evening and fewer/shorter lines? Maybe it isn't about the actual spaces yet maybe there aren't enough acts going at the same time? Can someone speak to that? Was surprised the Local is open 24/7. God bless those people.
  19. @Two Wheels Only Right That is the risk when you ask a pubic forum for advice...and while being helpful, no one here has the full details. I like to think most CCers do their best to be helpful and kind
  20. @JGRUSS02 how is the noise from general traffic etc on that wide promenade below? Just watched a vid where the reviewer said folks complained about the noise on the balconies from the people/loungers/pools etc on the wide promenade. Guessing it depends on age of pax and whether there ae tons of kids/short booze cruise ot what have you
  21. Confused. OP said they chose the room-- and the other non accessible rooms were more money AND says they were "assigned" the room. I thought the cruise lines required you checked a box saying you needed the accessible room--and had to prove it. Provide state approved HC status no?
