  1. No, the cruise is next month. This is for a friend's cruise. We are not booked.
  2. Just tried that with both month and year of cruise and email address. Zip, nada. I wonder if it is because the reservations were probably made through a TA. I guess I must resort to a phone call. Thank you, however.
  3. But this is a gift for someone else. It is not our cruise. I could not find the website for a bottle of champagne gift for someone else's cruise.
  4. I have tried to order a nice bottle of champagne on line as a gift, but I see only a "Please call" message. Does anyone of an easier way in order to avoid a long telephone wait?
  5. You can get it through a travel agent. They usually give all the perks that HAL is offering. I think Mame may be referring to the four-bottle perk that comes with booking a suite on a Grand Voyage. We got it on the Grand Asia and it is offered on the WC's. I think, Mame, that there was a post somewhere on this forum that someone had changed out the bottles of liquor for wine. Perhaps a search will bring it up.
  6. Well . . . your post confirms my fears that cruising at this time is not going to be the pleasure that we previously experienced. So sorry that you experienced these problems.
  7. Thank you, and manteonc, for your replies. We have been uncertain whether we really want to take a Caribbean cruise in late November. Free cancellation will encourage us to make the final payment, after checking with our TA.
  8. And does it apply to existing bookings for cruises through December 31st? I think a phone call to HAL or a TA is in order.
  9. By "24" you mean months? We are booked on the 2024 WC, which has almost two weeks in various ports of Japan and China. At the rate that Covid keeps re-inventing itself, I am dubious, even 18 months prior to our cruise, whether it will occur as now planned. If Japan and China were to be shelved, I wonder what countries would be substituted.
  10. I think that there are more then on Hyatt Place hotels. If so, to which are you referring. Thanks.
  11. Plus, you have a backup, later flight should the need arise.
  12. I strongly concur. Exactly that happened when we were in Barcelona pre-cruise. I used my debit card at a bank ATM across from major tourists spot. Something, BTW, I read one should never do because the attractions attract more than tourists. I discovered this withdrawal and we were within a day of disembarking in FLL> We bank with Bank of America, and they had the funds restored to my account within 24 hours. Henceforth, I will take cash advances or cash checks at the Front Desk or the concierge.
  13. Refresh my memory. What are the issues in Florida?
  14. Those are not "promenade" decks. Corridors are intended to get from one place to another. However, you have a point, particularly as to skooters. But you missed my point, i.e. that young families with babies and strollers are not high on the average HAL cruiser's list of preferences. If I wanted to coo over babies, this cruiser would not be booking HAL.
  15. I agree that, at least for us, the testing is discouraging us from being too optimistic about our HAL 2024 WC. With all the ports, if testing s still required, it will be almost certain that there will be periods of quarantine. And what would happen if there is not room in Quarantine? And if ports refuse to let us dock because of an extraordinary Covid quarantines? This virus does not appear to be going away, so the fact that the cruise is still 18 months away is not a big consolation. I will be curious to see how the HAL 2023 WC works out before we make any decision to cancel.
  16. Heaven forbid! There are enough other cruise lines that can offer that, IMHO, terrifying picture. Babies in strollers clogging up the promenade deck???
  17. However, Zaandam's balcony cabins are called Vista Suites, which is what she booked. I would think that she is entitled to the double points.
  18. Thank you for this info. Can you request the Mid-Port Garage when you book a reservation, I wonder. If not, it might behoove us to not reserve in advance and simply head to the Mid-Port garage. I didn't get that far into booking a space to see the specifics.
  19. Thank you, all, for your responses. Most appreciated.
