  1. Yes you can convert from Refundable to Non-refundable at prevailing rates/perks prior to final payment. Once non refundable it can't be converted to refundable. I do this all the time. Note there are some very recent (last week or 2) reports that any change to an onboard booking including price reductions cause a loss of book onboard bonus OBC. If true it's not right as that's not what was promised at time of my bookings onboard.
  2. It was suggested pretty much tongue in cheek. It would only punish the new team, not the idiots making the decisions.
  3. I think all Sky Suites should now request it! If you want a chuckle. I was playing with the Bing (Microsoft) AI Bot and I gave it the following "Write a letter to Celebrity expressing my displeasure with removing dedicated butler service from Sky Suites" I was impressed with the generated letter and yes it gleaned one of the hyped services of the dedicated butler was packing/unpacking which I know most do not use. Dear Celebrity Cruises, I am writing to express my displeasure with your decision to remove the dedicated butler service from the Sky Suites. I have been a loyal customer of your cruise line for over 10 years and have always enjoyed the personalized and attentive service that the butlers provided. They made my stay on board more comfortable, convenient and enjoyable. The butler service was one of the main reasons why I chose to book a Sky Suite for my upcoming cruise in November. I was looking forward to having a butler who would take care of my needs, such as unpacking and packing my luggage, making reservations for dining and entertainment, delivering snacks and drinks to my suite, and arranging special requests. I was willing to pay a premium price for this level of service and luxury. However, I was very disappointed to learn that you have decided to eliminate the dedicated butler service and replace it with a “suite concierge” who will be shared among several suites. This is a significant downgrade in the quality and value of the Sky Suite experience. I feel that this change will negatively affect my satisfaction and enjoyment of the cruise. I urge you to reconsider your decision and restore the dedicated butler service for the Sky Suites. This is what sets you apart from other cruise lines and what makes your customers loyal and happy. Please do not compromise on the excellence and elegance that you are known for. Sincerely, Your name
  4. They do like holding your money. From their latest earnings report As of June 30, 2023, the Group's customer deposit balance was at a record-high $5.7 billion
  5. Actually beverage gratuities have been 20% for a long time. I think before the shutdown.
  6. Yes many of the butlers have offered this service since most suite dwellers have the premium package. It however nothing with the minibar has ever been an advertised perk of suites until you get to RS and above. This is one extra I'm pretty sure the Retreat Team will not be doing. I suspect this team will be reactive to individual requests but not proactive with suggestions to make your sailing more enjoyable. I guess time will tell.
  7. This text has been in the FAQ's since word of vaping testing surfaced. To my knowledge there is no list of itineraries where it is allowed. They should indicate on the booking site which itineraries are affected.
  8. If you change ship or sales date there is a $100 pp admin fee with a NRD. I have heard on occasion it has been waived but never for me.
  9. It means it's able to be combined with whatever the standard promo is. Like right now the 40% promo. Basically it means nothing!
  10. I like salted butter so I always ask for "wrapped butter" in the MDR instead of the unsalted they provide in the tray. It's also not enough butter for my bread fetish.
  11. Also if Blue Chip Club credit is important you don't earn any credit for this play, the entire amount, not just the 10%.
  12. The "deal" for booking onboard is reduced deposit (other than suites) and additional OBC for booking onboard according to this schedule
  13. Isn't this what they did several years ago where you have to go to the lounge for afternoon tea.
  14. There is an updated fleet guide thread currently on the Celebrity pages. It indicated Revolutionized ships. It goes through winter 24/25 and no additional ships are showing as Revolutionized in that time frame.
  15. Just because no inventory is showing for sale right now doesn't mean it's sold out. I would suspect you will be assigned a MC suite.
  16. Right, the butlers didn't like the name change and lobbied to get the butler title returned. The good ones are very proud of it.
  17. I think the devil is in the details for anyone here to give you proper advise. Although they won't match you to a GTY (Y) rate if you have an A1 or A2 rate. However you should be able to change categories to get any rate even at a lower category if you haven't passed final payment. Of course you are going to get any perks/promos included with the new rate. Celebrity seems to be doing some very strange things right now so who knows if they are changing any of these long standing policies without telling anyone.
  18. $$ to donuts the "Retreat Team" will be smaller than it used to be resulting in more self service.
  19. I'm sure then the SS and CS gratuities will be lowered to that of CC and AQ 🤣
  20. It generally opens at midnight in the timezone of the embarkation port. So if 45 days was midnight tonight Eastern, the UK would be 5 am tomorrow.
  21. Yes it's going to affect US travelers. It's basically what US requires of travelers from Europe. I believe UK is included. It's online and I think is supposed to be typically approved within 48 hrs.
  22. Celebrity used to have a Chat feature. Is it gone now?
  23. When we were there in April our guide said it was to go into effect in Oct. We were at Iguazu falls and went back and forth between Argentina and Brazil. I read somewhere it will be around $40 or more if you use one of the visa services.
