This is just crazy. What are they trying to do to the brand? They haven't allowed smoking in the casino in probably 15 years, maybe longer. I hope there is a long line at GR complaining.

I know it sucks to be me but I have a sailing next year that is $1735 total and gratuities are an additional $504. So about a 30% gratuity based on the cruise fare. Oh yea it would be a higher percentage as you aren't supposed to tip on Taxes/Fees😀 No I'm not saying I have a problem paying them, it's just I used to ignore them as a trivial expense. I can't do that anymore. When are they going to force cruise lines to be more transparent with their pricing like they did with the airlines several years back. They should have to give you the total "out the door" price when shopping for cruises.

Does the amount of increase bother me. Probably not. It's the frequency. It's not been much over a year since they raised them last.

They are very popular. Only negative I've heard is possibility of some noise from the movie above. Most just say they can hear on the balcony. The aft views are wonderful. I'd probably snag it before it's gone.

Flights by Celebrity is showing a 11:05 flight out of BCN for my March TA ending in BCN. I believe 11 am would be the earliest. Generally they start walk off (carry your own luggage) by 7:30. Some of the earliest luggage tags by 8. I believe the airport is about a 20-30 min taxi ride. I would use a taxi and not wait for the transfer bus to fill up. I would think it would be ok.

Not offering at least a couple price protected similar sailings is where they are really "missing the boat". Historically that's what they have done and what I think the customer should be able to expect in these cases. Yes these re-deployments happen but it's certainly not something you should be expected to plan for when making your travel plans.

I can't find it but about 3 or 4 months ago there was a thread and yes someone who did a MoveUp to a RS without Premium Bev Package and Premium Wifi did have it included with the RS. There were at least 2 people on that thread that confirmed first hand.

I guess at all levels they fall back on the free bottle of wine will make you happy. It was good to see they did the research to find out what actually happened. The blame certainly is more on Lufthansa by presenting the option to rebook for a 5 minute schedule change, but FBC certainly didn't do anything to help. I know at some point they offered you $200 OBC but you only got $100, did you ever get the other $100? Not sure they will provide much more in terms of compensation since the root of the issue was on Lufthansa . But I agree it doesn't hurt to ask.

This thread I believe is about tipping the Retreat Concierges, not the Suite Manager, not the Retreat bartender or snack attendants.

I think when combined these are considered "Family Suites" and may only be available on select sailings like holidays but yes call and ask.

Maybe not Celebrity. Celebrity used to be 70% FCC and just raised this to 90% about a year ago. I've heard some other lines do some % refund. If it's a covered event I believe travel insurance would cover the value paid in gift card as it would be a non-refundable payment.

SV has a real balcony where the E1 is the Infinite Verandah. SV is an aft wake view.

I'll say this is usually the case but I did have one time where a Shoreside Concierge would not. He maintained that if I wanted to select my cabin I'd have to pay prevailing rate for that cabin

They are at the same level as the Concierge Team (Captains Club, Concierge, Event Coordinator). I believe they are all 1 stripe officers.

Yes the login is separate from the app. Yes it's a web page you are redirected to when you connect to the wifi.

I agree on Reflection the Concierge class amenities are not worth paying extra. The real benefit is some of them are in "better" locations like higher decks or more mid ship. We like the Deluxe Veranda (DV) which are on the slant of the hump at mid ship. Due to the slant of the balcony they are 2 or 3 times the size of a regular balcony. We try to get deck 8. Most balcony cabins on deck 6 have obstructed views as the life boats are just below. The view out is not obstructed, just the view down to the water. The other thing to consider when selecting a room (any class) is if you like the bed by the balcony door or bed by the bathroom. If the room has a square on it indicating a sleeper sofa the bed will be by the bath. We personally don't like bed by the bath as we feel it makes getting into the closet difficult.

Both of these cabins are pretty far forward. There are lots of V1 cabins available on deck 9 including some on the "hump". If it were me I'd call and ask them to change my cabin to.9288 on the hump. It is bed by the balcony and doesn't have a sleeper sofa so max capacity 2. And yes I would take this 1 deck down to save $250. With the new room service fee for all hot breakfast items the "enhanced room service menu" doesn't make sense to me. I'd trade that and use the $250 for a couple specialty dinners.

The charge can be paid by either the suite dweller or the guest. It has been $30 pp for dinner. Access to Retreat lounge/sundeck isn't going to happen for Sky Suites.

If you are inside the final payment date they won't adjust the price even if you are "close" to the 48 hrs. If you are outside of final payment I'd call to get the price adjusted, I wouldn't count on the form.

If you click on the modify button on your bid confirmation I believe you will see the same bid screens again. Of course you don't have to modify your bid and you can just leave the page.

It depends. Generally when they offer GTY rooms way before final payment they are just trying to move a bunch of rooms in that category without reducing the pricing (so everyone else asks for the price drop). In these cases they generally assign rooms pretty quickly. Close to sailing they may wait until very late like after they process the MoveUps. It's one of those things you can't predict.

Please try to screenshot the entire description of the Royal Suite in the MoveUp bid system.

No Celebrity won't reject.

Celebrity phone reps and even their supervisors can't be relied on for this type of information. I believe if you read the description in the Royal Suite MoveUp description it explicitly states that you will get Premium Bev package and Premium Wifi. Others on here have explained their personal experience which indicates they will be included. There have been thread in the past on this topic. One of them included a screen shot of the RS MoveUp Description.
