  1. Good for you Your husband will do fine in the PV stateroom and I think the balcony is a little bigger. Enjoy your Viking cruise.
  2. My Orion cruise was in July 2021 and it was a Bermuda cruise. The pool bar closes around 5:30 . The other bar I frequented in the day was the Aquavit bar at end of buffet and overlooking the infinity pool That one is open during dinner hours. Both bars made great golden margaritas and anything you could think of for a hot summer day. The Explorer Lounge was the place we went for a pre or after dinner martini. It and the Viking Bar are open very late . Torshavn the night club bar is also open very late. There is even a bar going into the theater and one in the Restaurant . I do not think you will be without your favorite drink during the day or ev ending. Enjoy your cruise.
  3. Bartenders are great. Aaron at the pool bar ,on the Viking Orion , would mix up all kinds of cocktails when asked. He also did so great NA drinks too. You can definitely order a mudslide It is like a chocolate malt.
  4. I booked my own air for my Viking cruise in June. Before ,I have used Viking air and Viking air plus. Book our flights in Sept with Delta /KLM, Flying from MPS to AMS then to Stockholm . We got great layover times both ways. We fly into Stockholm two days ahead of our cruise. We will take a cab to our hotel. We did purchase Viking extension in Copenhagen, so we will have transfer off the ship to hotel and transfer to airport two days later Viking air for this cruise is $1200. We paid more for total control over our flights and items. Well worth it for us for this cruise.
  5. I will be on the Jupiter in June for the first time , so I am interested in your experience . Ok Bar menu is not accurate …check
  6. Happy you are now on a Viking cruise. Look forward to your posts. Just ask your room steward for anything you need . Unpack, go have a drink and enjoy your dinner and your first evening on board . I am envious. I have to wait to June …
  7. Thank you for your live report . The Constellation was one of my favorite ships, last three Celebrity cruises were on her in Europe. I feel bad that the variety of food in buffet has been reduced and the pool grill lack of quality. . Celebrity always had the best soups and variety in the MDR for dinner. I love that Tampa FL is a new departure port for Constellation for the winter season. But do not think I will try another Celebrity cruise while the food quality and variety is being cut back. An old friend of mine, who was food and beverages executive for NWA years ago, always said the easiest thing to cut back on to meet your bottom line of the company was the food budget. Looks like Celebrity is doing just that post pandemic.
  8. I cannot believe that Celebrity has chicken nuggets on their dinner buffet. FGS , that is McDonald fare.
  9. Thank you fro another great live report. I always feel like I am on board experiencing the great ship, suite, food and views with you. If I return to Celebrity, it will be in suite on a M class ship. I do like learning but other cruise lines too. MSC does seem more European in many ways. Look forward to reading aobut your next cruise later this year.
  10. That is a great breakfast menu. Pickled herring roll and smoked salmon!!!!! Now I am really hungry. The choices of cheese are wonderful. I am impressed. Love all your pictures by the way!!!!!!
  11. I sailed Celebrity ( M and S class ships) before I found Viking . I never looked back. Welcome to the Viking Forum. Lots of good information here. I am on one of the FB groups. I do not like the way posts are listed all mixed up with river cruisers etc. Cruise critic is much easier to navigate for all my questions and seeking new information. Viking does guarantee one include excursion in every port. AS CCWine Lover stated above, keep checking if you want a particular additional excursion .
  12. Enjoy your DV1. We had 4123 and loved watching the wake at night and a lovely room service breakfast on our balcony many days. I am loving all your pictures. Cannot wait till I eat in Manfredi's again in June.
  13. How full is your cruise? Hope you can stay far away from these boorish fools.I enjoy your posts here on this forum. My next cruise in June is basically sold out , so with a full ship I will be able to ignore the few who always complain etc . They are on every cruise .
  14. I am interested in all information about this new expedition ship, Polaris. Please post pictures . Looking forward to your report.
  15. Yep check your MVJ often , many times some excursions which were filled now have an opening. Also check with guest relation when you board for the ones you would like to boo. Everyone gets one of included excursion. . I always got my excursion I wanted ,even being waitlisted when I was on board. Many cruisers once onboard realize some of the excursion they sign up for are not easy or they need a sea day or a million other reasons to cancel. Everyone knows when excursions open depending on stateroom by looking at your MVJ. Also for booking speciality sociality restaurants check MVJ. Once onboard you will find Viking is nothing like Celebrity . Enjoy.
  16. Constellation is my favorite ship of Celerity still sailing. Look forward to your trip report.
  17. Carla, I joust love your description of your Royal Suite. and all the perks. Enjoy every moment. Cheers!
  18. So happy tot see this new trip report. I have been to Athens twice and love everything in their Greek world. Enjoy the food. Look forward to your posts. Safe travels.
  19. I have used Viking Air three times and all from MSP , Always got the price that was stated on their promotion, including free airfare on one cruise.
  20. Go to the Viking Ocean Web site and click on Home Land cruise. Scroll through the itinerary day by day and you will see descriptions for all excursions. Look up booking date in your MVJ and book your excursions when they open up. Make your list and enjoy dreaming about your upcoming cruise.
  21. I have so enjoyed your very unique cruise repost and best of all your attitude. Glad you are doing an extension in Sydney. No need to hurry home. We had 13.5 inches of snow at MSP as of this morning, and more snow this evening. I too enjoyed the Chef Table Scandinavian menu espiecally the dessert. .
  22. Yes, you can use your shipboard credit to pay for gratuities once on board. or anything else on board that strikes your fancy. Welcome to Viking forum and your first Viking Cruise. Where are you going ?
  23. Yes, my Silver Spirit package will cost me $250.00 (which includes gratuity on each drink) for my 10 day cruise. This would be the first price increase since Viking Ocean started sailing. No big deal. I agree that it is still a good deal if you love cocktails
  24. Clay , Alls well that ends well. 👏 Good for you for pursuing the voucher issue.
  25. Sorry to hear of your experience the day of departing the cruise and your airport experience.I doI hoped you enjoyed the cruise itself. It is the very reason I made a vow to myself years ago after second cruise ,on another line , never leave a cruise and go directly to airport. I want to was on back into normal life as slowly as I can. My next Viking Cruise I will be doing their post extension and so looking forward to it. But we booked our own air both ways. I now always stay for a least one day or even two before flying home. I did deviate from this on my first COVID cruise on Viking Bermuda Cruise in July of 2021, but that was special circumstances because of COVID testing done by Viking and Bermuda.
