  1. There are other car rental agencies outside of Waikiki also, but depending on your plans could be your best choice. If you plan on driving around Oahu I'd start by heading to the North Shore first and early. Depending on the day of the week and the surf season, the North Shore can be one of the busiest most congested areas on the Island. By going clockwise around the Island, you'll be going against the traffic. As you come back from the east side (da best side😀) the traffic won't start till mid town. If you've rented a car from Waikiki it's easy to get back into Waikiki and either a short public bus ride or cab/Uber ride back to the ship. You also have Ala Moana on the way back if you need anything.
  2. Using gift cards to add OBC is one way. We received our $184.00 back in about 3 weeks from a June cruise.
  3. Icy Bay IPA on Alaska cruise on the Royal. Very good. Wasn't on the menu, a bartender recommended it to me. Problem was other people saw me drinking it and the supply ran low.
  4. My wife and I did the 14 day RT from Vancouver 05/28. We watched as the Covid floor filled up. We wore masks everywhere and only ate in the dining room a few times. Our room steward disappeared 3 days before we got back to Vancouver. We got home day after cruise, we decided to spend the testing money on a hotel, and wife tested positive. I spent everyday in hot tub and she mostly relaxed in our cabin. You just never know, I never did get it.
  5. There are only 4 slots left, after being on waitlist for awhile, for the Normandy Tour in Oct 2023. You should be able to book.
  6. If it doesn't fit through the door, then it's on the passenger. Rental scooters fit through the door. I know as my Mother used one with us on several cruises. It's not just about it taking up too much room in the cabin, that's your inconvenience. When it blocks the hallway it's everyones inconvenience. When my Mother couldn't get through, I moved the chair blocking the hallway to an open area. Not being mean, but being responsible to remove an article blocking safe passage of an hallway. No I don't pick up dishes, Mom just ran them over.
  7. I ordered 2 beers at the hot tub on the Royal, my wife ended up with a 6 pack at our cabin.
  8. Since the restart of cruising we've cruised on Carnival and Princess, and had zero problems, except Covid. For those that use other cruise lines, are you seeing the amount and type of cancellations that seem to plague Princess? I know that a RCCL ship is having propulsion problems in the Alaska cruises so the Crown isn't alone. Just seems that the ship should be getting righted by now, and instead a lot of floundering. Forget the marketing crap and put the money where your mouth is and fix the ships and do what other industries are doing. Pay a higher wage and pay a sign on bonus.
  9. Our 25day British Isle/TA was moved from the Emerald to the Regal. I couldn't move my balcony cabin from the Emerald to a Cat DD on the Rega for the 25day sellingl. I was able to cancel and book ANY DD cat cabin as a 10day and a 15day. More FCD OBC and more shareholders OBC. We also tried to book 3 B2B2B on the Majestic out of Sydney in 2024. No Deluxe balconies were available so my wife got her bathtub for all 44 days, in a mini. These days on Princess you never know if your cruise is going to get cancelled.
  10. My Wife gave me that nickname 35yrs ago and the morality police would censor me if i actually posted what that meant. 😎
  11. I always have gotten my water, if not just ask your room steward. We always bring our own extension cord as I'm to scared to blow up my Bipap using a european converter. I use duct tape to keep cord down. Our next cruises are 28,25,then 44 days. How many jugs of water can you get?
  12. Sometimes a "catchy" title gets more traction than one that doesn't. Just sayin.
  13. Go to this thread and the itinerary's are listed there. Best way to explain before coffee. Princess 2023-2024 Americas Program opens for sale for Elite Captain's Circle Members Aug 9 1234
  14. It was always a gas when ferrying an empty DC-3 back to HNL from an outer island to drop down and do turns around a sailboat at 500'. We got a lot of different reactions! When sailing out of San Diego on a HAL ship many years ago, loved it when the fighters came off North Island and hit after burner when right over the ship and go vertical. Helicopters, have a whole lot of different rules. I've been at the beach and seen a chopper do a hover to land in a beach front yard. After a discussion with the FAA, the guy got talked to but not violated. Like I told the FAA guy " some people have a lot of money for toys, but money doesn't give you common sense. He did have exceptional control of the helicopter".
  15. Yes, these 32 day cruises have 2 days in Hawaii and a stop in Fiji. The Crown cruises have 3 days in Hawaii and since no Bora Bora, have over night in Papeete. The itineraries are posted above.
  16. On August 9, the Americas 2023-2024 go on sale for Elite. This is perhaps the "announcement" you might be referring to.
  17. Looked at Cruise deck plans, that's what they show. No C428 or 500. Is your brother "Battery Bill", I hate those commercials.😀
  18. We did enjoy it. There were a lot of pieces of paper from the previous cruise that were jammed in places to dampen room noise. We had it booked for 25 days prior to Covid shutdown. We were 3 days away when all shut down.
  19. I think you meant Princess. I just retired after a 40yr airline career,so I'm very well versed in Passenger Bill of Rights.
  20. We always like to book as far aft we can get and if not in one of the 2 8th floor large balcony rooms, we go as high as we can. We Like the vibration and motion. I agree with the poster who said they like to watch rough weather from their rooms. Yee Ha. Largest seas we've been in has been 28ft.
  21. Our favorite room is the last side facing rooms on the Caribe deck. Love those mini's
  22. Unfortunately the details are in the small print. Seems Princess has the choice to do as they like: 8. RIGHT TO DEVIATE FROM SCHEDULED ROUTE, CHANGE PORT OF EMBARKATION/ DISEMBARKATION, SUBSTITUTE TRANSPORTATION, CANCEL CRUISE AND ACTIVITIES, AND CHANGE OR OMIT PORTS OF CALL; SUBSTITUTION. Except as otherwise provided, Carrier may, for any reason, without prior notice, cancel the cruise; deviate from the scheduled ports of call, route and timetable; call or omit to call at any port or place or cancel or modify any activity on or off the vessel; comply with all governmental laws and orders given by governmental authorities; render assistance to preserve life and property; or change the date or time of sailing or arrival, change the port of embarkation or disembarkation, shorten the Cruise or substitute vessels, aircraft or other transportation or lodging. Legal, Yes, right way to do business......NO
  23. Deluxe Balcony on the Royal was very nice. Just big enough love seat.
  24. The funny thing was they put the beers on my Wife's account. My wife doesn't drink more than a cocktail at dinner and when she ordered in the dining room they said her total for the day had been reached. She looked at me like " you couldn't have had 30 beers already". Customer service took off the charge for her dinner drink.
  25. I ordered 2 beers from a deck waiter and told him where I'd be as well as had my medallion on me. My wife got 6 beers in our cabin.
