  1. On our cruise out of Vancouver I met a few people with EzAir that got screwed by Delta. When they arrived in Vancouver a Princess rep was there handing out vouchers for cabs for them. They were lucky in that we didn't sail till 2100 due to the Royal and tides requirements. We landed at 1330 and it took us 1.5hrs to clear customs.
  2. We just got off our first Royal class cruise on the Royal. We had a regular balcony room booked on the Emerald, and now can get a deluxe balcony room.It takes 7 laps around the walking/jogging track to equal a mile.
  3. Not me, 40yrs was enough. I took covid relief leave for my last 3yrs.
  4. I traveled with mine as an airline pilot. First thing I did on check-in was set it up, first thing in am was to pack it back up.Hassle yes, but I didn't have to stay in a Holiday Inn to get good sleep. My okole hurt anyways from all da sitting. I now keep one in Honolulu and one in Long Beach.
  5. Can't beat the Pan Pacific, pricey but sure beats the hassle of bags.
  6. You go into your personializer under requests and select it. Your room steward will deliver you a gallon jug.
  7. Mahalo all, I'll be looking into the plugs as it will cut down on the extension cords.
  8. I've read about different power plugs that will fit in the european plug under the bed. I've been on Bipap treatment since 05/2016 and haven't missed a night. My fear is that one of those converters will fry my unit. After this cruise we realize we need a plug in the bathroom to power my wife's water pic so we'll need at least one for there We used a cord to and from bathroom this last cruise.. This is how I've come to wire up my unit. Next cruise is 28days so looking at other methods and realiable converter plugs. This setup worked very good, I used to just leave the cord under the bed but this way I can swap out chargers on the top plug.
  9. I had the Chilean Sea Bass last week on the Royal.First time my wife had the fillet which was awesome, I had the rib-eye which was so-so.
  10. As a 40yr airline employee, I'd be rich if I had a $ for every time someone said they were going to sue my airline. So many just check the boxes and don't read the fine print.
  11. I was able to stream You Tube "most" of the cruise Vancouver to Whittier and back.on my laptop. HDMI port was easy to get to on left side of TV. We didn't use the hook up, but wife could reach it.
  12. I took the hike on the same day. Very nice day. We also hiked to lower Dewey Lake.
  13. We did NB/SB on the Royal starting on 05/28. Ist day was cold out of Vancouver. In Ketchikan I had to buy sunscreen and was out by the time we hit Whittier. I was on deck 16 in the hot tub every afternoon. Ride southbound was more Alaska weather and I was back in hot tub 1-2 times. This was only our 4th time but twice we've had very warm trips. YMMV.
  14. We were on the Royal 05/28 Northbound from Vancouver. We did not have to test in Whittier. We bypassed Victoria where we were going to test for our return flight to US. No testing required as of 06/11 our arrival date in Vancouver. We decided to bypass testing and spend the money on an extra day in Vancouver. Arrived in LA on Sunday, tested before going to see Grandkids, wife is positive. I was negative so I took a PCR and am still waiting. Wife had a scratchy throat but I thought that was Bellini snoring.
  15. My wife and I decided to skip testing and spend the money on a extra day in Vancouver. Flew home Sunday, took tests to go see grandkids and my wife tested positive. My antigen was neg so I took a PCR. No symptoms except wifes scratchy throat. Yesterday and today wife is negative. Our room steward disappeared 2 days before Vancouver. We were on for 14 days.
  16. Escaped the cold and rain on Northbound, found rain and cold on Southbound, Room steward disappeared 2 days before Vancouver, Covid on return home. Wife tested positive on Antigen, I got free CVS PCR due to close contact . Thankfully no testing for flight home, I'm still waiting for results. Double boosted, all my wife has is a tickle in her throat and an occasional cough.
  17. That's what I'd assume. We booked as a 14day and sure don't want extra time in Vancouver. Roll with it and have a good time is what we plan.
  18. Yesterday in Whittier they took a tour bus full of Covid positive pax. Durning sail out, I did see a few heads popped out from the Caribe deck which is blocked off for quarantine. I guess a few stayed onboard.
  19. Hawaii is supposed to peak in mid June. In March and April it seemed back to normal then spring break happened.
  20. We got Kn95 today in Whittier. Were you HPD? We've been wearing our masks the past week and actually feel better that it will be manditory inside. There was ALOT of luggage on da Covid bus this am. No thx. Getting better tan than I do at home. This cruise is awesome, never seen wx this good. I don't want to be confined to my room.
  21. Take care and may your trip home be uneventful, and we will be watching how you are doing. Now mask back on the ship. Aloha
  22. This morning here in Whittier, I saw a sprinter type van pick up 3-4 people and there luggage dockside. Next came the tour bus. All boarding immediately at the end of gangway. Didn’t see the folks board bus, but there was a lot of luggage on it. Masks are back mandatory. Was this the Covid transfer bus? We are in last side room on Aloha deck port side and we started seeing more and more folks out in Caribe( Covid deck) balconies. We mask and hope all of you affected have mild symptoms. Aloha!!
  23. On the Royal now, and it seems it’s encouraged to order 2 beers at a time. Icy Bay IPA is a nice addition
