We also avoid any buffets. Unfortunately some people do not wash after using the bathroom.
-
We enjoy both. Since you are coming off the reflection, and the silly is a twin ship, the apex is a different experience. I would suggest you try it. The apex has multiple dining rooms which are like restaurants each with a few different items to choose from. The silly, like the reflection, has a banquet style MDR.

Apex March 2023 Dinner Buffet Video Update
Cruise a holic replied to Cap_D's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I personally prefer dining in the dining rooms. If I ate at that buffet- I would overeat- too much food IMO. I also enjoy a relaxing dinner and being served. -
Help! Last minute airfare, fiasco advice
Cruise a holic replied to Taclin01's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Definately fly a day before. You never know about weather. That is why I am packed a week in advance for any cruise- -
We really enjoy the Silhouette and Reflection. Size of ship great- service excellent. We enjoy the lawn club grill also. However, we sailed on the Apex and truly loved it. SP restaurants excellent and the suite deck and lounge wonderful. Only negative too many guests. Cozier on the S class ships.

following Brickell area in Miama great. -
I got covid on the Apex. Sailed b/2/b December and January. It is still on board. We will be sailing again on Celebrity soon. I am fully vaccinated, but will wear a mask in crowded venues- especially the elevators. Also we were on the Oasis in August and many people reported covid after the cruise. Saw on the blogs.

Retreat Check In Fort Lauderdale - Beyond
Cruise a holic replied to sixpackeddie's topic in Celebrity Cruises
nope. -
Prices are crazy. The ships are catering to those who can afford it- especially suite guests. We as, upper middle class, have typically sailed in entry level suites on celebrity and Royal. In the future, we will consider regular balcony cabins. We truly enjoy cruising and will continue to cruise. Yes, the industry as many others was hit with losses during covid, but now will recover. They will not lower the pricing after all debt has been paid but keep as huge profits.

We enjoy the silhouette. The Lawn club grill is our favority restaurant. We hope to be on it again at the end of the year. Have multiple sailings booked on Celebrity and Royal until then. We also love the new Edge class ships, especially the Apex sailing on her in a couple of weeks. Heard the Beyond is even better.

We stopped AQ long ago. Found no real value for the additional fare. You get access to the persian garden- which we did once for about 1/2 hour. The aroma therapy in the room is so strong we had them remove it. Blu was okay, but tables for two really like one long communal table. The choices of food for dinner disappointing. We now sail in suites, but if I were to sail in other cabins, would prefer a well located balcony cabin and dine in specialty restaurants for dinner. Certainly worth a try if you haven't sailed in blu previously.

Booking Celebrity while on Royal Caribbean?
Cruise a holic replied to Sigyn's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We also book the other on both. If memory serves me correct, you might not get the same cruise credits. -
Oasis changes/getting nervous

My brother in law is a gastroenterologist. He unfortunately has treated many patients with this condition. Of course he will do a stool sample and send it out tomorrow -

This isn't BS I would have never stayed- but they did! I would make such a fuss they might have to throw me off the ship! Sometimes you can be too nice and understanding- not me! lol Bet others left! -
Oasis changes/getting nervous

Yes. And if you read my other reviews for both celebrity and royal, that was my only disappointment with a cruise. I am a glass half full person and typically have a good time! Since I have another celebrity cruise in two weeks I am truly looking foward to it! -

We have an Icon cruise booked for 2024. Crossing my fingers that the line will get it together by then. Ship expensive for an entry level suite xxx -
Oasis changes/getting nervous
Cruise a holic replied to Cruise a holic's topic in Royal Caribbean International
To demonstrate that i have sailed many times on royal ships and celebrity. Over 20 on each including four on oasis of the seas. My only not great cruise was on the adventure last may. Old ship cabins in bad shape problems with plumbing. mDR food poor -
Since you aren't cruising until next January, clearly things will change- I would ask this question in November and December . Enjoy your cruise.
-
We will be on the Apex in less then two weeks. We also are staying at the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas. We know about the construction as some was going on in December during our last cruise. We will make sure our room doesn't face the front of the hotel to avoid any noise- however, by dark the construction will cease and we are early risers- not concerned. Love the location and the hotel.

If price is not an option, I would consider a suite. A much better experience. They have accessible suite cabins. Enjoy

My sister and her family are current on the Oasis. One of our favorite Royal Ships. We are again booked on it in August. They are very disappointed with the food and service on the cruise this week. First, my brother in law got food poisoning. Traced back to an indian fish dish on the buffet- lasted 24 hours, he is ok now. Last night, they dined in Chops, one of our favorite specialty restaurants. They arrrived at 6:30. The waiter was working on 10 tables! By 8:30 the waiter brought them their main course, forgot to bring the salad and appetizers! The main course was overcooked. Overall they reported that the food in all venues was mediocre at best and the service lacking. We usually take the unlimited dining package, but now- I wonder if we should consider canceling this cruise and consider other options. We are diamond plus with Royal and Elite plus with Celebrity.

I understand your dismay. However, when I now go food shopping, I feel I spend 50% more. Everything is now so expensive, our utilities cost a joke!. I am glad that we still can get a wonderful cruise experience on Celebrity. Our favorite cruise line. Will either pay a fee for the "hot" breakfast- go to the restaurant or buffet. Honestly the lobster tails weren't that good- not large New England tails- Carnival is a bad experience even withfree lobster daily. No comparison.

RoyalUP? (Bid for stateroom upgrade)
Cruise a holic replied to John&LaLa's topic in Royal Caribbean International
On the older ships like the adventure and the enchantment IMO a large Jr. suite is perfect. No real suite perks that are important. However on a ship that is Oasis class a big difference. Years ago, I would agree with you, but since we now only book suites it is a big deal. It makes the trip so much nicer having a true suite lounge, deck and restaurant. Not to mention the other perks. However it all depends on your budget of course. If you can afford it- do it. If not don't.
