  1. Oh, yes, how would I forget this. Even if you do not stay there, the Rotterdam is worth a visit - both for the classic lines of the outside and the stylish inside.
  2. NB: Which actually is not only true in the Grills but in all restaurants for all passengers.
  3. In connection with a sea voyage you might like the hotel New York, locatedcin the forme Holland America Line headquarter right next to the cruise port.
  4. Not only by train but also bus. The bus stop is much closer to the port than the train station. If you want a guide inside depends very much on your level of interest and willingness to map your own path. I found the guided tours far to short and covering only small parts of the area. The audioguides and (good) guide books you can use for your own discovery cover much more and you can pace your day.
  5. Looking forward to this - thank you for taking us on your journey.
  6. I am sorry to read about your disappointment regarding the ballroom. Thank you very much for your review including the important "atmosphere was good".
  7. Where is the "loyalty" part in taking one cruise, even if it is a world cruise? After all it is a loyalty programme. Maybe Cunard should change the rules from "or" to "and"?
  8. Indeed. I hope they will return soon.
  9. I would expect boarding to start earlier, at latest around noon, but who knows these days about the future.
  10. Excellent adivce was already given by @Edinburger. It is indeed very easy to walk around Cadiz and the ship docks right by the historic centre. Just regarding "What are the must sees?" I would add the cathedrale museum the tavira tower, equiped with a camera obscura the Oratorio de la Santa Cueva, two hidden beautiful chaples on top of each other Iglesia de Santa Cruz, the oldest church in Cadiz Not a must see but a hint in case you feel stressed out by the Summer heat: right next to the historic city centre a huge beach area starts with restaurants, bars and so on close by,
  11. Besides the one mentioned there are a few more providers of free walking tours you might like to check out, offering various different itineraries.
  12. So one gets the same fixed assigned table mates, too? Of course not. If one goes the way you describe: Where is the coverted flexiblility? What is the difference to have a fixed time right away, without having to go through the described hassel?
  13. It not "they should" but one has many options to dine at a different time every night, with different waiters and on different tables if one finds fixed seating undesirable.
  14. In my experience it is worthwhile to check for the colosseum tickets very frequently. There always come up a few tickets here and there. Soemtimes even whole slots open up. When you see something that fits, grap it.
  15. What do you mean by train companies? There are different types of trains. Regarding the senior fare, this might be interesting: Senior Offer - Trenitalia
  16. No. Maybe some other holiday provider or a totally different case?
  17. Sao Paulo is of course much bigger and much more important, yet also quite far away. In Santos we took just a taxi to the centre. There eg. a "train" sight seeing tour is offered. There is also an interesting coffee museum.
  18. Taxis are readily available at the airport. Before leaving the secure area you passes booths were you can book the taxi and will get a driver. In Rio there were always taxis waiting at the port, too. There we agreed on prices before the trip.
