  1. I have moved the same reservation that was booked on board several times and the OBC for booking on board has remained the same. However, the additional perks and price have changed to reflect what is being offered at the time of the change. These changes must be done via phone and your agent cannot cancel your original booking.
  2. Sounds like a transfer is in order to Royal Caribbean Cruise lines with children that age....
  3. The starboard area outside of Blu on Deck 5 is supposed to be outdoor dining on the Ascent and walking in that area may not be available. On the Port side, it has been a designated smoking area.
  4. Some nights, the menu in Blu is not appealing to us. So we either go to a Specialty Restaurant or go to one of the MDRs. Be aware that if you book a Specialty Restaurant, the staff at Blu is notified somehow by the computer system. If we go to a MDR, we let the staff at Blu know. On our last 7 day cruise on Beyond, we had dinner 4 times in Blu as we wanted to try a MDR and a Specialty Restaurant. We really enjoyed the MDRs and the food was excellent. It is walk up when you are ready to dine. You will enjoy the Beyond.
  5. No such deck on the Ascent. What I do for exercise is to walk up and down the stairs from deck 3 to 14. That way you do meet people and get in a workout. Others can get a workout by getting seconds and thirds at the buffet.
  6. It is Anytime Dining and you show up when you want to eat. You have 4 choices of dining rooms and if one is busy and you don't want to wait, go to another.
  7. On the Beyond, we had an Elite art class. They had 3 glasses of wine for each participant and only about 12 showed up. Expected 36. The wine did not go to waste. We drew a lions head using regular pencils. I was shocked how mine came out as I don't consider myself having any skills in that area. Then we did something with watercolors. The artist leading the group was excellent and broke down the tasks sequentially. Definitely worthwhile.
  8. There was an amazing artist on our 7 day cruise on Beyond. He was very patient and broke down tasks into language I was able to understand. There were general classes and those specifically designed for Elite and above. The activity with the Elite included wine tasting. Highly recommended.
  9. But is Twitter now the Modern Luxury?
  10. Why did you have to report that? Now we have someone who feels they are not getting something special. (You are correct. We got the same ones in Aqua).😶
  11. Free is accurate but how about the quality? Free does not mean tasty.
  12. I would not upgrade to the Premium Package. The Classic Package will get you that drink in nearly all lounges and bars with no add on $.
  13. I believe they all have infinite verandas.
  14. I would give the nod to Royal Caribbean in terms of Entertainment and being a more active experience. Celebrity has slightly better food but that does not include the pizza and burgers. Service is a mixed bag as both lines have had a big turnover in staff and many are new and learning their jobs. The Celebrity ships are smaller and have a quieter feel to them. I am glad you have posted on another board as you will get other opinions.
  15. Not all of the cabins on Equinox were updated. Those updated were generally Concierge, Aqua and above. If you are cruising Aqua class, I would go with Equinox. If in a Suite. go for Reflection. Reflection does have a more crowded feeling but it is a great ship as well.
  16. Yes, you can do the regular menu for $60 plus 20% tip. Plenty of food on the regular menu. I recommend the crab cake or shrimp dish appetizer and the Nova Scotia lobster casserole. Excellent. Make your reservation early as it fills up rapidly.
  17. How long ago was this? We have gotten FREE daily bottled water in Aqua Class for at least 4 years.
  18. Oceanview Cafe coffee is fine and available 24 hours. Best way to get coffee at the time you want it.
  19. I panicked when I read the Captain's note regarding dress. The attire was long sleeved shirts for men in the dining areas in the evening. I had brought only one long sleeved short and the rest were short sleeved. No one said anything to me but I was in the minority with that style shirt. Dress was quite casual as compared to other cruises in other regions.
  20. If you go to bed after midnight, then you should be fine.
  21. We sailed on the Beyond this year. Bartenders were giving some cans a little twist of the cap for some cruisers as an assist.
  22. You must be among the lucky not having arthritis in the hands. We struggled at times opening the cans.
  23. The cans are often difficult to open. So bring a gripper to help open them to avoid frustration.
  24. Thank you for the tip. I received a congrats in earning one more Club Point.
  25. If you would like to try some different seafood items, then go for it. Coming from an area that has fresh fish and real lobster, I am rather fussy. Not my cup of tea.
