  1. Actually, it's just common courtesy.
  2. What reasonable explanation could there be? Unless you are getting dessert for a dozen or so of your mobility-impaired friends, I certainly can't think of one.
  3. I am pretty sure that the main reason that they don't have trash cans in the public areas is that they want to sort the garbage for proper environmentally appropriate disposal. It's easier to sort it off of a plate or tabletop than out of a garbage can.
  4. Do you take an entire bowl like the OP witnessed?
  5. Princess and Carnival have a lot of policies that are not the same. The management of each cruise line gets to make its own decisions at that level.
  6. This is why we can't have nice things.
  7. Chicken fingers are a BBQ sauce delivery device.
  8. According to a recent post by John Heald, yes.
  9. Wear your sneakers onto the ship. That's what I do to save space.
  10. "I insist that you take this ship to a politically unstable country that is being taken over by gangs, or I want my money back!"
  11. If you read enough Cruise Critic forums, you are going to see good reviews and bad reviews of every single ship on every single line.
  12. Awesome! Now if everyone properly reported scooters in the halls, the problem might take care of itself!
  13. I wouldn't have any problem reporting a scooter illegally parked. I don't remember - is there a speed dial to Security on the room phones?
  14. DH and I attended a major league baseball game last week and they were charging $17 for a beer. Carnival seems like a bargain.
  15. Carnival has publicly announced very recently that they are cracking down on scooters left in the hallways. We will see how diligently they enforce it.
  16. I am not sure why one would call it "obscene". It's part of their revenue model. The prices are basically the same as what you would pay at an on-land bar that vacationers frequent. There's nothing wrong with that. I would rather have cheaper base fares and have the choice of spending more or less on optional items.
  17. I am not sure that the quality of a meal is always the direct result of which head Steakhouse Chef is on board. It's quite possible, for example, that he was not the one who actually cooked your lobsters. And my guess is that like the wait staff, cooks rotate in and out. I doubt that they switch around from ship to ship en masse at the exact same time.
  18. You either count the embarkation day or the debarkation day, but not both. A Saturday to Saturday cruise is a 7-day cruise, even though you are spending 8 distinct days on the ship. In reality, it's the number of nights, not the number of days.
  19. What does Carnival call it? If they call it a 7-day cruise, you get 7 days of credit. If they call it an 8-day cruise, you get 8 days of credit.
  20. That might work for the next cruise, but not on the current one. And I would never gamble in hopes of getting perks later on. It's never a guarantee. There was a post in the last several months about a cruiser who dropped an amount in the high four figures on a short cruise and never got anything.
  21. We are a party of two and always request a private table. Out of the several dozen times we have done Sea Day Brunch, we have only been assigned to a group table 2 or 3 times, and never in the last year or so. Maybe we have just been lucky. These days, if they led us to a group table, I would probably say, "We requested a private table. We can wait until one is available."
  22. It is. But I think while Carnival (and other cruise lines) want to minimize the risk of fire, they have to pick their battles. Therefore, hairspray is allowed, but not spray disinfectant. Blow dryers and curling irons are allowed, but not coffeemakers.
  23. I agree, but IMO the Funfetti Cheesecake is the one exception. That's why I always get it. DH is always amused that I make a little game out of trying to be the first person on the ship to get a piece.
  24. I have eaten it on the Radiance relatively recently. It might have been a one-time thing in your particular circumstance.
