  1. Just a quick clarification. You don't have to pay for a internet package, but you do have to connect to carnivals wifi to use the app. It is free. A side note, on our Panorama cruise in May I was also able to send Imessages (text messages) to others on the ship or at home. Not sure if this is a change or a fluke.
  2. Staffing issues are not just Carnival. My local bank branch, national bank that has been around over 100 years, closed the drive thru lanes due to lack of staffing. I was shocked.
  3. Last December the Alabama game was not on the casino bar TV's. Some guy had his laptop and was streaming the game with a large crowd around him.
  4. I hope they don't do this to our cruise in February. I have a helicopter tour booked for Kauai.
  5. I have had both the Havana Cabana on Vista and Havana interior on Panorama. I liked the interior room better because of cost. The Cabana was great, but there are just as many loungers and seating available in the Havana area by the pool you don't need the Cabana. Just leave the room and your outside. Never crowded and always plenty of room for our group of 11. If possible, I will only pick a ship with Havana over a ship without. Well worth the extra money.
  6. I have had jury duty before also, I called up to the court and told them I would be out of town that week and they took my name off of the schedule. Shouldn't have to miss the cruise because of a jury duty summons.
  7. I do the check in process for several cabins every cruise. I set up everyone's account as a cash account. They add their credit card at the kiosk or at guest services.
  8. my sister had the same problem. Carnival only allows a certain number of characters for your last name. She had to look at her booking and use a portion of the hyphenated name when using verifly and logging into the carnival hub app on board. I think it is around 15 characters.
  9. MLB made a new schedule where each teams plays every team now. Otherwise it would 3 years before the Mets played the Rangers or Houston. Hopefully now, they will rotate each year home and home.
  10. My wife had drinks on us everywhere when we were on the Dream last December. They told her she could start using it once the casino opened. I have read though others started right away. So yes it does start on the first day. Also works if you have drinks on us only in the casino.
  11. I liked using Verifly because it gave me peace of mind that all our documents were approved 2 days prior to embarkation. We still had hard copies just in case but didn't have to show them.
  12. yes, they can, however, you cannot pre purchase. You will have to buy on the ship.
  13. Our first cruise was on the Ecstasy in 2006.
  14. If you hit a jackpot playing on only one card it is not your name, will they pay? I don't think they will. Each player must play on their own sign and sail card. On a land based casino a casino host can rate husband and wife together.
  15. I think requiring everyone to be vaccinated and up to date with booster shots will hurt their business. I am vaccinated but have no plans on getting a booster shot. Based on the number of people just on this board that ask about the 2 day or 3 day testing period I think a lot are like me only vaccinated no booster.
  16. I only bring a notarized letter from the parent or guardian authorizing me to take the child on the cruise. I also bring a notarized power of attorney in order to make medical decisions if necessary. Granted I have only taken kids on 3 cruises, but I was never asked for the letter and thankfully didn't need to use the power of attorney.
  17. If they accept the invite you will see them under cruise manager and they will show up on the hub app. We all had any time dining so linking us before the cruise worked great. I was able to make reservations and select the names of everyone in our party.
  18. Also, log in to your account and click on booking order and details. Scroll down and look for missing someone and send them an invite. They will be linked with you. this will help in getting seated together. Missing Someone? Invite them to be your Cruise Companion! EMAIL ADDRESS Send Invite
  19. I went out of Long Beach and it worked great. I didn't have to show any hard copies. You also have the piece of mind that all of your paper work is in order the day before the cruise. I would use it again.
  20. I have always taken a letter of permission from the parents and a notarized power of attorney. The power of attorney is important so you can make medical decisions if necessary. On the 3 different cruises we were never once asked for the letter of permission. However, it is nice to have just in case.
  21. If you are vaccinated you do not need insurance to sail. Unvaccinated at some ports are required to purchase insurance.
  22. Yes, she can board with birth certificate and DL and get off at all ports. Ports only require DL and sail and sign card to return to ship
  23. Your analogy doesn't apply. Airbags and Seatbelts work like a vaccine. They only reduce the risk of severe injury after an accident. If I really want to reduce the risk I shouldn't' t drive. Testing doesn't fit in your analogy at all because it doesn't reduce any risk. The better analogy for testing would be to install a breathalyzer to start your vehicle. My point is I think they should eliminate the need for one or the other.
