  1. still enjoying this excellent review with great photography! spa cafe is a hidden gem...esp as a break from "cruise food". So sad that St Maarten is not coming back 100% very quickly. We always enjoy that port and have a very helpful jeweler there (friends of a friend). We usually head out of town for a beach bar lunch experience. We feel the water is cleaner away from the town beach area & have had great luck with meals. We have also done some ok snorkeling, but water can be rough at times and close to shore has spiny sea urchins.! Our travel tip : if what u do here is not walkable back to the ship ( or reachable by water or local taxi) do it as a ship's excursion...There is too much traffic on St Maarten/St Martin, and uncertainty of getting back on time..but ship waits for its tours! Has been a blessing several.times!
  2. Enjoying the review, photos, outfits, menus etc I have collected a few made from the ship trinkets (EDGE 2x and BEYOND) but that Necklace is awesome and BEYOND!
  3. Our dtr did it the opp way.. Law School at home in NY..passed Ct, and NY and then Fla.. If she moves to Fla..she is set.. Good to have options!
  4. We would disagree but everyone has their own experiences and preferences. Being on a cruiseship by X is great..esp after the Covid pause In our view the Suite/ Retreat class on our Beyond Cruise was very nice but other than the larger stateroom, priority boarding and departure, we felt it was just not that special including Luminae and the upper sun/ pool area. Happy to be rejoining AQ Class next cruise ! They treat diners in BLU very well and we love access to the thermal room / lounge area....tradeoff is being in an Inf Veranda but manageable!
  5. Needs a Sticky..need someone to get permission from mods to do it and also to set it up. The noise issue can get lost in the regular cabin sticky!
  6. Charla We did that excursion..so much fun..learned alot too! At the time, ours was called..Salsa' Salsa and Magarita! (feel no pain!) Held now at Playa Mia?... Ours was at Hotel Cozumel..okay but def not 4 star... Can't wait to hear all about it! Hard to make choices in Cozumel..last time there on BEYOND we "invested" in some very nice sapphire jewelry..his and hers! And we tried Senor Frogs..not our usual style but it was really tons of fun!
  7. hope you are rested and enjoying part 2..Key West can be fun to walk aroubd..esp the stylized houses and bldgs. The kids club activities look great. our grandsons age 3 and 7 would be happy. Their parents are looking at an expensive Disney cruise in the future but maybe after that they might consider X, which they generally prefer over Royal C..
  8. Solstice is a great ship! Have a great family vacation!...
  9. Does X indicate at focus groups or Cap lectures that a fix might happen as each ship has a short drydock? We had no issues on EDGE twice and Beyond... all diff decks and cabin styles. We will be on DECK 10 on ASCENT..hoping for the best but reluctant to book another E class cruise in the future,....
  10. we always book ahead to get port pricing discounts and the time slots we prefer. No appts are available for spa or Ketistase on Ascent for next yr.. Guess too early???
  11. The new leader is also a Royal C person .so that culture will most likely prevail. Wish they' d bring back folks that made CELEBRITY an Outstanding cruise line pre LLP!
  12. DaKahuna Thanks for the very clear deck plans .Our IV AQ cabin has no black box shown but diagram shows the bump in for the bed close to the bath, .That would be great..close to the bathroom and a more open feel in the narrow stateroom. From a past cruise on EDGE, the IV had the low to the ground "divan" style couch.
  13. Not familiar with Reflection / changes... We are trying ti get the plans for Ascent,,. On EDGE we had the bed by the bifold doors which we kept open to make the narrow room a bit bigger..DH had to use part of the IV when getting out of the bed. Having the bed by bath will give a more spacious seating area...esp if bifolds are kept open...
  14. they really do not hold much.. Would not buy again! just get a vase from attendant IF YOU FIND FLOWERS still no.luck ordering flowers
  15. agree... they added a salt room but not much else is new..
  16. I appreciate all the info. we are headed back to A Q class on Ascent. Hope to make a few visits to the Thermal suites. On EDGE, I recall that the heated lounger srea was narrow and had glass windows often making it too sunny to enjoy. But some of the other areas were nice Big miss by not including a true T pool...!
  17. Do AQ Class guests still have unlimited access?
  18. Sorry you will miss BONAIRE.. a natural wonder and much less commercial than other islands. Curacao..eh Been there, done that many times...one day would be more than enough for us, but hoping OP finds some nice things to do.. Disappointing when itins change but we all have to go with the flow.
  19. We are going to Nevis on our next cruise...includes lunch but I don't think snorkeling .. Nice to see several new events are offered on board..
  20. And more cash than you think you will need..esp in Bermuda!
  21. That's pretty much our schedule at home or wherever we are..incl cruising! We sleep well, 7 hrs , just early risers...Early morning is a peaceful time of day! Your review and photos are amazing...Our next cruise will be on Ascent but we always have enjoyed Silhouette..Maybe we'll look into that...short cruises are okay but 7 days are our fav these days..esp with increased prices for longer ones! We prefer AQ Class and Silho will still have " normal" balconies! Enjoy!
  22. never happened before... but we had benydryl and topical.. the reaction lasted several weeks for poor dh... related to his shellfish allergy. we pick safer areas for snorkel since then.. many nice "fishy" spots away from coral. strongest currents we did ok with were Nassau..ocean, Costa Maya and near divers wall in Gr Cayman.. we are older now so just take it easier
