If you google port everglades weather you may find an article on another cruise trvl website about the airport roads, parking and possible port impacts,. It lists ships due in/out on Sat and Sun...Fri had only 1 ship listed for some reason. Hopefully conditions will improve

Looks like we stayed here last time ( Doubletree) sailing from San Pedro...Rex's cafe was awesome..locals/ families and visitors...a great mix. Excellent food and service! We walked both ways! BON VOYAGE! -
I agree 100%, when in a pinch go with what u can get! .That's how I came to book my flight out of TPA.. all they had on very short notice. Driving there was an ordeal bless my dh.! Also agree other driving routes are options for sure but not all super hwys (ironically we have brush fires.in drought areas) . We generally avoid Orlando and Tampa..if at all possible but have rels up that way We are spoiled in Venice!

Jim Guess you could try those if needed, but...Tampa airport & area roads have become very congested..I flew out of TPA for business a few weeks ago . What a nightmare! Switched to SRQ for my return. from Orlando it's a long drive down and across...and there are congested roads at times esp thru Sarasota.. Allegiant Air goes to Punta Gorda...semi rural try Ft Myers.( RSW) .nice drive across Alligator Alley..if its dry! or even Sarasota ( SRQ) on the East Coast there are Jacksonville and West Palm..but we are more familiar with SW Fl west coast you are one of the most experienced travelers on the Boards..so I know you will find a way for it to work out

Celebrityers thinking of trying HAL for the Music Walk
hcat replied to Scuppersisontheboat's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I agree that a cozy piano bar is lacking. We have been on EDGE class most recently so memory fades. From what I recall, there is a piano in the Martini Bar area on E class, .opp the bar location..but it not a dedicated lounge area.. most all the music groups play there Same with EDEN..not sure if there's a piano there?? have not seen a piano.in the Club. X used to have a piano bar concept in Michaels Club on M Class.( Perry Grant was on Connie) ..Area is now used as a suite lounge on some ships. There is a public bar on S Class " Ensemble Lounge" (?) where small music groups play..not sure if there is a piano there. There is/was a baby grand in the dance floor area on main level which no one apparently uses. Guess the concept has faded on X. -

Have a great cruise! -
looks like a good alternative..ES is very outdated.. dusty etc...It will be worked on soon but not worth the high charges! Most other good choices were booked up unless u go with a third party service. We found something in Dania for Jan 2014 for around $ 300..brighter and lighter. Wyndham Garden Inn.. close enough to Port Ev.. parking overmight..no free bkfst. only 1 night so we will manage.
-
hope X will not disappoint.. not a "party animal" type cruise line. lots of fun and activities but 15 drinks/ day is not the norm! hope enjoy your cruise!

Celebrity Eclipse - Is 4 in a room too crowded?
hcat replied to pattycake08's topic in Celebrity Cruises
sleeping arrangements will be very tight and not equal.. get two next door or connecting. or if too costly, get one balc and and an inside across the way .. two might prefer a darker rm to sleep and you'll get 2 bathrooms! -

probably most people incl TAs don't know... Although we had no issue with our EDGE cabins, or our Sky Suite on BEYOND ,we would not take a chance..esp with ships sailing full again. No place to move to.... fingers crossed that we do okay on ASCENT and will go back to S Class!
