  1. most important is that passport and airline paperwork match..so you can get to your port & home... after that it usually works out.. but calling it in is best and make sure they are recording! we wait for the booking conf to come thru while on the call..
  2. Love the family pics...making great memories. thanks for sharing. . The info about the ship is very encouraging for our Dec cruise. We were on Silho when it first came on line but not in the yrs since. We are looking forward to a break from E Class!
  3. good plan..let us know how it works out!
  4. sounds like a good plan to park in the garage at the port...upper level! we stayed in Dania Beach before our last cruise, and heard the area had flooding. hope weather abates... we were in drought in Venice Fl, but had enough now! good luck to all!
  5. They had it during the day in the Club on Ascent..very popular. Every indoor space was taken up with sports...curling, putting etc And the Rooftop had Pickleball...plink plink plink! And non sports areas had loud music. .bass bass bass! Loved the ship but thought they could have a few Quiet spaces..not taken over by the card players!
  6. Club has great stuff too!
  7. we filled this out twice..never received the bands or weights.. Lack of coordination, apparently! rm is long and narrow..no room for a yoga mat let alone a bench... have fun at the gym!
  8. What time was that show? We have our dining booked for our Dec cruise but hope, this will fit into our schedule.. ours is a short cruise?
  9. Thanks for the reminder Jim.. Club Bar is often overlooked..very nice and not overcrowded unless there's a show or performance in progress. Order at bar or find a nice seat upper level
  10. on Ascent this was a great spot for reading.. no speaker overhead so no loud music! We will seek it out on APEX!
  11. Lately..that's all we hear.. How many bars, where are the bars, what drinks are included in Happy Hour, or in the packages, etc. Sometimes I think it must be Carnival! When drink packages were first offered by X, we saw a big change in the X demographic. Many drinkers came onboard from other lines and then wanted X to become more like the cruise lines they came from. Less upscale.... Now with expanding perks for crossovers, there will be another influx. Used to be more about fine dining, wine tastings and wine pairings..We enjoy our drinks, but we do not cruise to drink!
  12. The numbers say it all for us.. Walking next to that big MSC ship just across from Ascent was a perfect visual comparison..!
  13. While cruising on ASCENT in January....we were berthed opposite a HUGE MSC ship..on St Kitts What a crowded nightmare it was walking down the pier back to the ship.. Might be nice in an exclusive enclave once on board but way too many people (and kiddos) for us..
  14. please no! gym is ok as is! no need for more bars...
  15. Beauitiful story... lovely family... and A Great Review..thanks you for sharing. Wish You Blessings!
  16. Not everyone drinks..but I did get a nice exotic cocktail at Raw on 5.. Hope generally we can stick to dining per se..it was refreshing to see a thread that is not about bars, alc packages or free drinks at the social hour. They are proliferating!
  17. go in AQ class with Blu.. seating is close and many cruisers are friendly to neighbors!!
  18. We considered BLU as an mdr as well as the 4 mdrs in E Class. We like variety, and enjoy most of the specialty venues which for most cruisers are an extra charge beyond the cruise fare. We pre- book for best selection. We use our E plus discount for an extra dinner or lunch at a Specialty rest. .We prefer Raw on 5 ( E Class) to the non E class sushi place..That has a more limited menu for non sushi eaters and folks with certain allergies. . We truly miss Silk Harvest...it was excellent! We also miss Q sine which was ahead of its time. It had a great menu, excellent food quality & ecclectic presentation....in a fun setting ! Too bad it was replaced by LPC cartoon dinner! (at best a one and done)
  19. we drive to Port Ev usually, & bring our own 6 pack of bottled water from the Publix ( grocery store) .. plus a mini Brita filtration pitcher. We supplement with bottled water purchased on bd or ports..The water in the Classic and AQ Class rms, is not to our taste and containers/ brands sometimes vary. Important to hydrate..esp in the Carib.
  20. 12 yr old moving down would not make a good fit with 8 yr olds..or their parents' expectations Just stick with the program.. Good for siblings to be apart now and then!
  21. We have not all expired, do not all have white hair, and are still loyal..but looking around. Do not wear dinner jackets and or a recycled mother of bride dress..( & avoid ageist stereotypes!) Some recent changes need to be called out..and a mix of cruise lengths might be workable..esp on the smaller older ships..but only if they are updated !
  22. better off with Inf Balc if you can switch
