  1. Sounds like a rough start to your cruise, hoping it got better 🤞 By the way, what is a “specially adapted sweat”? I am also dairy intolerant (can handle lactose free items) and have found the staff in the MDR very accommodating in preparing appropriate foods when given advance notice. Symbol or not, anything that says ‘cream of’ I avoid lol.
  2. If you have any Celebrity loyalty it is cheaper to upgrade precruise however you need to call to get the discount, can’t get it thru the CP.
  3. You don’t need to sneak them…on our previous Alaska cruise we took a couple of them down to our cabin and used them frequently on the balcony. We would often return to our cabin and our room steward would have them nicely folded on our chairs, ready to use again. By the way, very much enjoying your report from a non suite perspective! Thanks for doing this!
  4. Thank you for this review. Glad you mostly had a good time and saw lots of wildlife. Don’t blame you at all for being frustrated and upset with the embarkation fiasco…def not a nice way to start a long awaited holiday and glad it seems to have improved. Interested in your ISP excursion, was that a ship tour or something you booked privately? We’re on the Eclipse in a few weeks for the last sailing and haven’t anything planned yet for that port. We did a whale watch last time there and it was very good but looking for something different this time and the seafood feast part sounds interesting.
  5. Following along as well! Very much enjoy your “live froms” and this extended itinerary sounds very interesting! Hope you get all three legs in this time 🤞 Enjoy! 🚢🇨🇦🥂 🇮🇸 Cathy
  6. The current vaccine that they’re giving as boosters was initially meant to combat the earlier variants of Covid and has nothing in it to attack the omicron variant which is what is transmitting so well currently. I’m hesitant to get my fourth shot until either Moderna or Pfizer come out with their updated bivalent vaccine in the fall which will cover the earlier variants as well as omicron …of course by then the virus could’ve, and probably will be, mutated again and we’ll need further updated vaccines 🤷‍♀️ Haven’t read anywhere anything that shows that the current booster helps against omicron. If I’m mistaken I’m open to views…unfortunately don’t have a family doctor to bounce ideas off of or get authentic advice.
  7. You sound exactly like us…enjoy all the same things and places.
  8. I’m quite interested in getting some of the apple AirTags but it says that they run on lithium batteries and the air Canada site says you can’t put anything in your checked luggage with lithium batteries… are they just so small that they won’t be confiscated?
  9. Your excursions look really interesting, especially the snorkel one, looking forward to your feedback on that on! Enjoy!
  10. Following! And Happy 40th! Big milestone birthday for me this year too but a couple decades more 🤣. Your daughter didn’t want to join since you’re not in a suite this time? 🥳
  11. Call me crazy but I store my opened bags of chips in the freezer, keeps them crispy and the flavour intensifies. I like them right out of the bag like that but on the ship by the time they’d be served they’d be at room temperature 🤷‍♀️
  12. I am going to be very sorry when you’re finished this report, your writing style along with the pics has been absolutely wonderful! Your sense of humour is also coming through and I’ve been chuckling along. Definitely one of the best reviews I’ve read on these boards and trust me I read them all! Thank you for keeping me and I’m sure many others so well entertained 🙏
  13. Thank you so much for taking the time from your holiday to check this for me! Glad to hear some supply issues are resolving themselves. Enjoy and thanks again!
  14. Following! Sounds like things on Infinity have improved greatly from the first sailing so you should be in for a great time! Enjoy and thanks for posting “live”!
  15. That link basically says that travellers selected for random testing don’t need to wait for results before taking their connecting flight, nothing about where they’re supposed to get tested. Like you, I’d like to presume they’ll be given a self swab kit to be proctored but there’s nothing saying how they’re supposed to do that when they’ll have to rush to get their luggage go through customs and try to make their connection…now they need to test as well? Will be more than 24 hours from their arrival in Vancouver until we see them in Kingston so not like they can do it when they get here….so many different situations for travellers and very little specific info from the government…that’s why all the handwringing. Thx for letting me vent 🙏🤣
  16. Very much enjoying your postings of this cruise, Abby, and sounds like you’re having a very good trip overall. Thank you for continuing to keep us entertained. I’m very much looking forward to doing a similar itinerary on Eclipse in September. Have you had any luck finding out if there’s any Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc onboard? I’m hoping by this point or certainly by the time we sail that stock has been replenished. 🤞
  17. I find it sad that these passengers get a verbal warning, followed by a written warning before any attempt is made to disembark them when they knew the rules on boarding the ship. Why do these selfish people get so many warnings before action is possibly taken. No wonder they continue to flaunt the rules. Frustrating for sure 🤔
  18. My son, his wife and daughter are all arriving in Vancouver from NZ on the 22nd and connecting to Toronto….hope they’re not selected but if they are where will they test? Am hoping the testing will only be for those without connecting flights but not holding my breath.
  19. Looking forward to following your postings. We sail on Eclipse in September, 11 nights as it’s the last of the Alaska season. Sounds like quite the adventure so far with your flights issues, glad you were able to get it all sorted. Im hoping you can find out if there is any Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc onboard or if they’re still having issues with the supply chain. It’s my go to wine on the ships so hoping they are getting it! 🤞
  20. That sounds horrible, I can see I’d lose some weight on that med, maybe the silver lining lol
  21. If everything tastes like poop when taking Paxlovid what do the altoids and jolly rancher candy taste like? Just curious 🧐
  22. No, it just tells them you have the classic alcohol package.
  23. The issue is that the booster vaccines available currently were never formulated to fight these recent variations. Moderna and Pfizer are both working on new formulations for what’s catching people now but sounds like they won’t be available until the Fall. Your husbands got natural immunity because they were infected by the currents strains.
  24. Did you test because you had symptoms? If so, what were your symptoms? When will you test again to see if you can return to your original cabin? Good luck!
