So wonderful to pour my coffee this morning, click over to CC and see that Jim and Iain are cruising again! And page five already and you don’t leave for another few days yet 🤩. It’s obvious how many others enjoy your live postings as much as me! Hope you enjoy a wonderful couple weeks. By the way, you mentioned Ponant cruise lines which I hadn’t heard of until recently when my sister told me that they are booked on Ponant in June to explore the Norwegian fjords and Scotland. I checked it out and it looks really nice! Cathy

bringing wine on board 2 or 4 bottles?
Barwick Cruiser replied to George C's topic in Celebrity Cruises
You might find it difficult to store a large bottle of 1.5l in the cooler in your cabin. They’re not very deep and even a 750ml or two can be a challenge. Unless you’re drinking red of course and don’t need it to be chilled 🤷♀️ -
Liveish from the Apex Nov 19-Nov 26
Barwick Cruiser replied to BeeMinor's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Enjoying your review, thanks for taking the time to post. Question about your excursion in St. Kitts, was anyone snorkeling during the beach time or was it more of a lay around on the beach kind of thing! We’re visiting in Feb and have Thenford Grey booked but are looking for snorkeling options too and the catamaran and lunch sounds interesting. -
Can anyone recommend a good snorkeling and/or diving company to go with on our port day? Prefer non ship excursions. We have our own snorkeling gear but the divers would need equipment. Big Beards has been mentioned but I don’t see any actual reviews of them from cruisers. Thanks!

Beyond LIVE Semi-Solo AQ Class 11/8/22
Barwick Cruiser replied to GenerationX's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Last we heard from @GenerationX was 10 days ago…I’m sure you’re back home again by now, Charla, hope that all is well with you and your family and that you’ve just been busy with life before being able to come back to finish this review! -
I noticed in the dailies you posted that there was a Muster 2.0 held for three hours one day…was that for passengers? Trying to figure out how Beyond sailed without everyone already doing Muster 🤔. Another thank you from me for posting your travels, very well done and I’m enjoying each day with my morning coffee!

Cancellation fee for select dining booking
Barwick Cruiser replied to gold1953's topic in Celebrity Cruises
When you make a reservation for Select Dining they don’t actually hold you a specific table for that specific time, they just seat you in the next available table at that time. If you show up at the start of dining you’ll be seated quickly, if you show up before the tables turn over you’ll have a wait, reservation or not. YMMV -
Keep in mind this perk only applies to non Elites sharing a cabin with an Elite. Doesn’t work if you’re just traveling together unfortunately. Enjoy!

Thanks for responding and sorry you missed the tour. At least BB was accommodating to the changed port times, that’s positive! Ok, I’ll keep checking and maybe someone else will post with review. Very quiet boards over here.

I don’t understand why they’re still using these when they eliminated plastic water bottles and straws…how are these any less of an environmental impact? Are they recyclable somehow? We went thru so many on our 11 night Eclipse sailing in September and I was hoping they’d have the refillable large dispensers I’ve seen on pics from posters on other Celebrity ships.

Live from Silhouette Nov 7 2022—have questions? Ask away
Barwick Cruiser replied to cruisestitch's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Glad you’re enjoying the cruise. Have you been getting off in any of the ports and if so, what tours/excursions have you done and would you recommend? Thanks! -
@S.A.M.J.R.How was your tour with BIg Beards? We’re also interested in the snorkeling you did on this tour. We’ll be in St. Croix in Feb and this looks perfect for us.

Live from Silhouette Nov 7 2022—have questions? Ask away
Barwick Cruiser replied to cruisestitch's topic in Celebrity Cruises
@cruisestitchhow is the cruise going? What have the ports been like? Curious to know if you went off the ship in the DR. We are doing the exact itinerary in Feb so I’m curious about everything ship, dining, port and entertainment related! Thank you and enjoy! -
Black Friday Sale - Nov 11 thru Dec 1
Barwick Cruiser replied to NorthStarStateCruiser's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Just booked a cruise for Feb, same price as yesterday but now we have $400obc, so I’m happy. I’m sure if I’d booked it when the sailing was initially released I would’ve saved more but I didn’t know what my situation would be now or if I’d even want to sail so I guess that’s the price I pay for waiting. Oh well, still cheaper than most of the All inclusives I’ve been looking at, at least with X I know what I’m getting! 🙌 🚢 -

Barwick Cruiser replied to cruisestitch's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I’m looking forward to following along as well, looking at the same itinerary in Feb. What kind of cabin are you sailing in? Also interested to hear what you did in DR today. Have fun! We love the Silhouette…extra dining options without the extra passenger load of Reflection. -
Beyond LIVE Semi-Solo AQ Class 11/8/22
Barwick Cruiser replied to GenerationX's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Here I was wondering what I was going to read with my morning coffee now that the TAs are mostly returned, still following @mahdnc, and here you are!! Have very much enjoyed your previous travelogues and so much looking forward to following you on this one as well! My Sept Eclipse to Alaska seems so long ago now 😢 Have fun and wishing you smooth seas and good luck with the IV! Cathy -
Thank you, once again, for this great information. I’ve learned a lot of new and interesting info from you today!

We haven’t sailed on an E class yet however I find the Magic Carpet interesting and will def check it out when we sail on the Edge in ‘24, one comment I’ve read frequently is that the area is so windy and not comfortable for sitting and enjoying a drink or meal due to the winds…you mention playing cards which sounds like would be impossible with windy conditions…depends on the itinerary? Whether docked or at sail? Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Very glad you are onboard and are happy with your cabin. Def not for me, need a proper balcony, but many do like these infinite verandas. We have a sunset veranda booked on Edge in ‘24 and I’m looking forward to the 4 dining rooms so hope you cover them during your voyage as well as any other dining venues that are available to the non-suite passengers. Curious as to the visible obstruction in your picture…what is that? Thanks and enjoy every minute of your holiday!
