  1. And the fares increased to include those basic (unacceptable) tours. My last R cruise during the "Crystal Pause", the tours were worthless with busses broken, shopping to nowhere interesting and a waste of time. It reminded me of why I stopped booking Regent in the first place.
  2. They didn't include it back then, that I recall. Maybe they did and I just remembered what it was Ala carte
  3. We sailed from Monte Carlo a few times on Regent. The first time I booked the Hermitage. It was delightful until my husband got the bill. Continental Breakfast to the room was 100 Euro. Car to the Port another 100 Euro. We could see the ship from our room. We stayed in Nice the next time.
  4. You can aslo create a new email address for all t he junk subscriptions and then you can ignore stuff
  5. She is a great, engaged Cruise Director.
  6. Veery easy to make and very impressive. Make it often for guests.
  7. We sailed in Suite 601 (the same suite across the hall). I don't have any pictures but the layout is more square and it's a bit bigger than a standard cabin. The donwside of that location is that the anchor is upfront and when it's dropped at o'dark hundred you will hear it clank and you will start your day early. It was originally priced as a standard cabin but when they reviewed pricing they rased it to it's own category.
  8. This happened to us many years ago. 100% refund and 50% of fare credit for another cruise. The same itinerary was not offered on the same ship and the fare was more than doubled for the next sailing. We used our credit for a Med Cruise in an Aft Suite on Mariner. Research the next sailing carefully. Not all cruises are equal.
  9. When we sailed the Paul Gauguin it was managed by Grand Circle and managed by Radisson. The ship was not owned by Radisson or Regent as I recall.
  10. In October all the tours were booked except for a couple bus/shopping tours. We cancelled most of them and stayed onboard ship. Very poor quality tours. While the onboard experience is decent, the tour situation is very sadly lacking.
  11. The cost of a veranda may be price dependent. on the ports. Duh! If you look at the itinerary it has 9 ports...over 8 nights. I read that wrong.
  12. I booked it for 9 nights on the West Coast Cruise in June I guess some of it is dependent on the actual cruise ports
  13. To upgrade categories from a window cabin to a veranda cabin for 2 people is that much more and always has been. I think the 25% solo upcharge was a good value but we are in a new era - not just Crystal but all the fares are up for the luxury lines.
  14. Thanks for posting that. Interesting. There are many specialties in the realm of photography. I love the window into the story of the dry dock.
  15. Well on my Non Crystal Rhine experience was river level too low to pass so we got a free bus pass to a restaurant that served us inedible food before sending us to another ship. It was so poorly handled we said we will never go again on that line again
  16. If you need a white tablecloth experience at lunch, you can always get room service. That is the ultimate luxury.
  17. http://www.limoinrome.com/services/ It's been a few years. Toured with them multiple times
  18. We used a driver in several ports in Italy (Family Run). They took a gtoup of us to tour and were great. I would definitely use a tour company out of Ciivecchia. It's far from anywhere.
  19. I much prefer the Port Angeles stop to the Portland stop. We've been there before on the way to Olympic National Park. So beautiful!
  20. No one told me about that! I'll have to see what the change is. Thank you May!
  21. I've seen them too. Most of the ones I have seen are to contribute to Rotary International.
  22. Keith, The other spa operator is Canyon RANCH. They are upscale spa facilities with the original in Arizona.
