  1. They must have lousy proof-readers. They were repeating how all the new things are free with Plus/Premier and forgot to add it after the RS fee notice. Not quite as bad as sending an Australia notice to American guests.
  2. Okaayyy. $5 going to chase you out of a cruise in a Suite? I don't think we have seen the final word on this, but if I had the funds to cruise in a Suite, I am sure I'd be going Premier fare all the way. It doesn't seem at all right for the charge, so let's wait until we see 2 or 3 guests in a Suite post having to pay without any discussion with GS.
  3. Did you select "Book a New Cruise" option (or similar wording) from the phone tree selections? It should put you in touch with a US sales person (possibly a CVP). AFAIK, you can still get a US rep for a new booking because it is sales.
  4. It seems PCL is upping their game with the name change to Reserve Class. I recall reading about an extra app for this section and now there may be more than one, plus an extra main. Not a bad idea at all for what it costs.
  5. My thinking is, if you plan to dine with friends, save the upcharge and book a high end mini that isn't Reserve and save that booking for when you travel as a couple. Otherwise, it seems a waste of money to me.
  6. I would be booking early when we have decided on a major trip. I wouldn't book real late because we need to fly to a ship and the flight costs could blast away any last minute savings. I could see us doing a late booking when we are in FL and decide to jump on a ship that is only a reasonable drive away.
  7. I'd like to know why people are still confused after 90 posts? 🤣
  8. I would certainly believe this. The airlines themselves only have X number of seats at the low fare and when they are gone, the next level up price comes into effect. Ultimately, the last "couple" of seats are going to go for full fare. One reason it pays to book EZ-Air ASAP and then watch for any price drops.
  9. Okay, so this post clarifies that you had $0 on your casino account (associated with Medallion). If that is the case, you cannot get blood from a stone, so to speak. I don't see why you could not have re-loaded the card and then started gambling again. But they were obviously onto you by that point anyway.
  10. Your post reads to me that you went to the casino and simply asked someone (perhaps the cage cashiers) to cash out your OBC. Is this correct? Were you ever in the casino and gambled? When you gambled, did you load funds onto your Medallion? If so, the charge would go to your cabin account. IMO, it looks like you just asked for money and didn't use the casino. That will never work. You have to "invest" money and play in the casino and then you can cash out any balance.
  11. IIRC, I was seeing everything possible for our overseas options back in 2022. I am not sure about domestic options anymore. I don't recall ever thinking a flight I wanted was missing from the search list (as long as it was with an airline they use). I also recall many different airline options from Singapore back to Canada in 2020 when I was looking at that for a voyage that was obviously cancelled ultimately.
  12. NO - same pricing in both cases. Some would wait in order to pay with OBC.
  13. Ahh...well I cannot speak for Australia version. But Travel Summary is wjat counts as that comes from POLAR which is the master booking record. Take it with you. App has been proven unreliable and inconsistent from day 1.
  14. I would not worry about upper/lower case with the "II". Different airlines will do this. If my wife's name was Mary Jane, her name is often setup as Maryj by airlines and never been an issue. I don't use a middle name, so I never have a format issue I would get into the actual airline websites for each flight and make sure your emails and FF nbrs are entered and setup. AMERICAN isn't even a partner with UA and LH. Nice to read you are getting somewhere.
  15. First I am sorry to read your tale of troubles in getting a name field fixed (which should be easy-peasy) and for having to struggle with EZ-Air reservation. I do hope your son is not "III", so same problem won't happen there (just kidding). Anyway, not that I blacked out your travel agency. We are not supposed to be naming TA's on Cruise Critic. Most people call this one Big Box and that seems to get by (don't ask me why). Anyway, when the BB agency setup your cruise booking, any passenger not already having a Captain's Circle number would be assigned one (or should be). I presume husband has not cruised with Princess before??? If I take the above literally, it sounds like you were creating a Captain's Circle profile for him which reads like registering him and now I am wondering if he has TWO CC member numbers. You shouldn't have need to do that. It is called the Cruise Personalizer. If you login to the Cruise Personalizer for the voyage (you can login or use Name, Birthdate, Booking Number), you can see booking details, but also get to the Travel Summary. This will download a PDF of your booking and it will show everything but the dollars involved (because you booked with an outside travel agency). However, the Travel Summary will have personal details at the top - including CC Member Number. Check for that information and I would also make sure he doesn't have two numbers. Finally, did you ask the airline what they see in a res record and if they can correct anything since husband is a registered FF with them?
  16. Easy.. wait until the night before disembarkation.
  17. $800!!! Wow. I'd consider a honeymoon cruise and put $800 into a nice cabin. Anyway, your son knows what he wants to do and knows his GF the best, so he'll figure it out I am sure. But I now wonder if the mere proposal costs $800, how much is the wedding ceremony? Just kidding - I know the wedding business is not for the faint of heart - or wallet.
  18. In effect Princess is not in charge it seems. It is a third-party outfit. Hopefully better at their job than the outsourced call center.
  19. Fair enough, and we know now it is a mistake, but the thread title implies factual. The email info raises questions right away.
  20. Perhaps Princess Legal should sue them for poor sampling and what use is a survey from almost 10 months ago.
  21. Your Medallion will not go anywhere unless you select it and request shipping. If you do nothing, there will be one at the pier for you. To complete Ocean Ready, you should at least go thru the selection steps and request pier pickup if not sending to yourself pre-cruise. Selecting Arrival Groups and Times has been quashed as of end of July. Just show up at your convenience as long as checked in no later than the time shown in your Travel Summary.
  22. This thread is never going to die with the "fake news" title it has. Can we get @Host CJSKIDS to add something to the title like ... "Nothing to see here .. Move along to the next thread"?
  23. They just announced this, so IDK how anyone could have experience. Looks like it doesn't launch until November. It is also a third-party service provider (not implying anything negative there). But I have a couple of observations. Here is the package content description: Package highlights: Secret proposal setup in a private indoor or outdoor location Proposal rose and rose petal décor Dedicated photographer and memorable prints Celebration cake Stateroom gifts and goodies Pre-cruise and onboard coordinator I figure it won't be much of a surprise when she sees all the decor. My other note is that I suppose we all have our own ways, but it seems odd to plan popping the question a year out or so. I thought these things were kind of spontaneous. Anyway, I hope it works out. I didn't see any pricing, so let us know if your son gets into this and you find out more about it. Looks like you now use this third-party to arrange vow renewals as well.
  24. I know you aren't. Surely, there will be more price increases, but not just yet. Maybe we should have a poll predicter for the next beverage pricing increase.
