  1. No...A JS is a suite and you'll be able to board using the suite line.
  2. Just ask your cabin steward for an extension cord and distilled water if needed.
  3. Agree. We've always used a taxi (rate by zone) on our many trips to San Juan.
  4. If you decide you may want a private tour with a small group, check out Halifax Historical Titanic Tours with Paul McNeill...Just one of the best tours we've done. Highly Recommended !!
  5. If you use a vendor it will be based on a timeframe they will give you at each stop. Once you return you'll have plenty of time to walk around Sitka before taking the ship shuttle back to the port.
  6. No, you don't have to board together. Just print out a SetSail Pass for each of you.
  7. We have a GeoBlue annual policy and use The Trip Insurance Store to purchase a policy as an addition at times.
  8. We've made this flight time easily several times. We self disembark, grab a taxi and on our way.
  9. We usually stay at Hyatt Place (convention center) next to the Harbor Shopping center. A Publix market and shop[ and our favorite place to eat is Duffy's. Check pricing directly as a member with Hyatt or use ValueTrips.
  10. We've booked the Hampton Inn on International Blvd. for our October 2023 Canada NE cruise. Newly refurbished and we've always enjoyed this location.
  11. Just at these port stops in January and all took USD. We've cruised the Mexican Riviera many times over the years and have always used USD for the small purchases we make.
  12. The change doesn't go into affect until 2024 for some RCI ships. We're booked for October 2023 and still a go for Bar Harbor onboard Liberty.
  13. Your plan B to just take a taxi is a good one. But we were the last RCI ship for the 2022 season and this vendor in Sitka was still there filling up their bus's. This was our 5th Alaska itinerary and strangely the first time to Sitka for us...just timing I guess. Enjoy your cruise.
  14. In addition to the above...Once you board go to the Nursery and see what time the open house will be. It may not be open for registration the "minute" you board but there will be a time posted on their door when they will be open.
  15. We've been doing this itinerary for years and as recently as this past January. We've sailed during many different months and have been just fine with what weather we've encountered. RCI has always been our favorite cruiseline.
  16. Booking through the cruiseline is overpriced. After getting off the ship shuttle into Sitka there is a vendor offering a trip to the Raptor Center and Fortress of the Bear for $10.00pp not including a small entrance fee to both venues. We did this with extended family this past September and it could have not only been cheaper but our local driver/guide was amazing giving us so much history about Sitka. Lot's of bus's lined up and on your way as they filled up. You can't miss this vendor holding large signs. So glad we waited and did this option instead of booking with the cruiseline or private pre-paid excursion. Enjoy...you won't be sorry !!
  17. Book a shuttle with Corey the owner at Cruise Control...(888) 416-8830 ... This company is great !!!
  18. Our last cruise out of there this past January (RCI Navigator) there were only the two of us and we got a great parking place right in front of the terminal (#93) by the gate and easily wheeled our bags to luggage drop and then to the very well marked suite entrance. Love sailing out of our home port, it couldn't be easier.
  19. We booked round trip with CanTrip Shuttles and they were just amazing....They personally called me to make arrangements before, during to verify our departure time from the ship and after using them to make sure we had good service, and their price was so much lower than other companies I checked for our group of 6. https://cantripshuttle.com Also there was a possibility that we might be selected for additional covid testing (September 2022) cruise and they were going to take us to the government testing center and wait and then take us to the ship. Luckily this didn't happen but we were prepared.
  20. Taking the elevator up to the Pan Pacific and/or crossing the street to the Fairmont would be I think the easiest option for me. We had our private shuttle meet us in front of the Pan Pacific this past September and it worked out so easy for the 6 of us. We were the only ones it seemed using the elevator up to the lobby after self disembarking. The downstairs bus/taxi area was a mess with two ships there.
  21. No...Just because you're due to arrive at 8:00am...the ship has to be cleared. More than likely the earliest self disembark could possibly be around 8:45 + if all goes well. Book a later flight .
  22. Yes RCI does offer transfers ($). No luggage direct service (Luggage Valet) since covid. If you use a shared shuttle you will be waiting for others. You can book a private shuttle (not sure how many of your there are). Of course you can Uber or taxi....check pricing. When we've booked private have used South Florida Shuttles as another trip we weren't happy with ridesas. We had booked it privately for the 5 of us and the driver argued that he wanted to wait for a solo cruiser....NO absolutely NOT was my reply !!!
  23. We were just in these ports in September and didn't see any food trucks.
