  1. I'll give you my opinion...No need to book this with the ship. We had a great tour with Glory Tours...something to consider.
  2. MTD isn't a bother at all. It's the most flexible option. We prefer to opt for this, but actually mostly if not always dine in the WJ. Why be committed to a certain time with a port intensive itinerary. Relax and take things as they come.
  3. We've done this itinerary a few times and some of the excursions/things we've done are: Boston....HOHO booked upon arrival at a near by kiosk just outside the terminal. Portland...We just walk the near by port area and visit Holy Donuts. Bar Harbor...We've booked directly with Acadia National Park Tours also booked with our rollcall once with "At Your Service Tours". Saint John NB...Booked with Dave's Taxi Tours Halifax... The best tour we've ever done was with Paul McNeil "Halifax Titanic Historical Tours" This one in particular books up very fast !!! Book online directly with Paul.
  4. Agree...Many times onboard we don't participate in any onboard activities. We cruise for the itinerary.
  5. Call Corey instead of using the website...He's so helpful !!!
  6. The Water Park Cabanas are on sale for our May 2024...At $1499.00...I'll take two with fries for our group of 10....HAHAHA !!!!
  7. Hyatt Place just off 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale offers a hotel shuttle from FLL to their hotel for $5.00 per room reservation not pp. We have extended family that have used their shuttle (used to be $2.00) and their pick up was quick and easy. They also offer a shuttle from their hotel to Port Everglades based on pp fee. I believe these larger shuttles the hotel uses doesn't require a carseat, but do check directly with the hotel for this info. FYI...This hotel is a favorite of ours and can be booked directly with their website using membership or you can also get great rates booking them with ValueTrips. You can always opt for a private shuttle and one that we've had great service with (that provided a carseat) was South Florida Shuttles. Enjoy your cruise.
  8. Lot's of taxi's will be lined up. We self disembarked this past August. Our ship ended coming in the evening before due to the tide and getting through the lock. The Amsterdam port is amazingly efficient...one of the best we've been through lately. Just allow enough time for getting through Schiphol...we were very lucky outbound but inbound a whole different story.
  9. I completely agree with the Deadliest Catch Tour being one of the better options. We've done it 3 times as recently as this past September. The grandkids really enjoyed it.
  10. I usually get some great first class air booked a few months after the booking dates open.
  11. We buy one 2 device pkg. for the two of us. I just wish the internet was included with GS's and above fleetwide.
  12. We've been staying in OS's lately and love the perk of ordering breakfast from the MDR menu. Delivery has been pretty quick lately on all the ships we've sailed. Another thing we enjoy is ordering dessert just before the MDR hours close including hot chocolate or tea service. Always have some cash to tip upon delivery.
  13. I see someone already posted pics..mine are no different from this past September....except we had rougher seas. Remember to price it with your cruise line vs Deadliest Catch website. It can vary. At times it's been less through the cruise line. Regardless go line up on your own to board asap.so you can get the best seats...middle main deck 2nd row. You can always walk upstairs to take pics but don't limit yourself to having to sit up there.
  14. We've traveled with 2-3 large rolling luggage and never had a problem with a shuttle telling us there was a limit. Check directly with the shuttle company you'll be using.
  15. We were on Serenade twice recently...Alaska & Panama Canal and she was just fine.
  16. Perhaps I'm not understanding your and other's view you are reporting. From what we saw the ones that had booked the HOHO with the cruise ship there was a bus waiting for them just outside the terminal where they showed their excursion ticket....for the start of their tour. Those that walked to the kiosk to purchase their tickets easily boarded one of the several other buses lined up. Never did these conflict with each other at the start of the HOHO tour, and if you were waiting at one of the HOHO spots everyone seemed to get on according to who was there first. Cruise passengers didn't push past. Buses came right after each other very quickly. We've also (on one other port visit) just taken the ship provided shuttle round trip that drops off and picks up a block from the Quincy Market. Enjoy whatever you decide will work out best for you.
  17. Yes, of course there will be...a ship is is port.
  18. Welcome to Cruise Critic: I would highly recommend Cruise Control. We had just amazing service for our extended family 4 adults and two kids this past April. Call Corey directly and he'll take care of your transportation needs. (888) 416-8830
  19. Are you onboard Oct 5th? If so, join our roll call.
  20. We've cruised out of our home port of San Pedro many times and as recently as last month. Couldn't be quicker and easier.
  21. We purchased the RCI Voom Surf n Stream. We also had our iPhones on Airplane mode and were able to easily text. No problems at all to do this from Quebec to Fort Lauderdale.
  22. Sorry to hear that...Personally I think those that opted to go to Peggy's Cove are up for a disappointment.
