That's my favorite also, but it's been hard to find. Five RCI ships I've sailed on recently and some didn't have it at all and one only had it at breakfast !! What's going on ? Also when I can find it why do they have to doctor it up ? Just leave it plain !!!
I agree. We docked at the new terminal last October (very disappointed in this) during our Panama Canal itinerary. This past January on our Mexican Riviera itinerary we docked next door to it. From the new terminal we used the shuttle bus. From the old terminal we walked out to the street and easily got a (non-federal) taxi $5.00pp but he took us (our request) the back streets to the end of the Malecon near the bridge. This worked out perfect for us. On the way back our taxi automatically took us to the new terminal but there was a shuttle over to where we docked.
Personally...I don't care for this new terminal at all.
This is exactly what our extended family of 6 did this past September. Besides the $10.00pp there is also a small admittance fee for each venue, adult and children prices. So glad we didn't book this through the ship or with a private company as it would have been more.
Not sure of the exact name but if you walk straight up the hill from the dock, along the main street there was an ice cream shop on the left hand side just past the middle of town.
I would book something around noon. We've self disembarked from RCI, have private transportation waiting for us and at MCO anywhere from 9:00-9:30am (of course this can depend on traffic which we've been lucky). We fly first class and have Global Entry. You might be able to do a flight a bit earlier but why take the chance ?
Welcome to Cruise Critic and cruising....Are either (similar) of these something you can book privately. Ship excursions aren't always the best option. Check your roll call for suggestions.
We considered this hotel for our extended family last April but after seeing reviews we opted for Home2Suites and so glad we did as it was just wonderful.
Also remember you can order room service from the MDR menu during their open hours when staying in a GS and above. Our favorite is ordering breakfast in the morning and late night dessert just before the MDR closes.
Our extended family of 4 adults and 2 kids had a Water Park Cabana this past April for $699 which was a great deal for us, that of course included everything we needed.
We've been booked for quite a while for her Feb 23-Mar 3, 2024 and recently had Puerto Plata added to our itinerary. Five ports stops ..... perfect !!!
With our extended family of 4 adults and 2 kids we opted to stay at Home2Suites and used Cruise Control booking them as private transportation round trip and they were just amazing.

We stayed at Home2Suites and loved this hotel...great amenities. We had a rental car (went to KSP) however the hotel has menus from many local restaurants that did deliver.
We stayed at Country Inn Suites in 2017 and it was owned by Radisson then and it was a dump, continually under renovation that went no where until Hilton purchased it and it became Hampton Inn & Suites and was recently renovated.
Our room faced the front and we had no noise issues then...just disgust with our upgraded room booked with points...what a waste !!!
From the new pictures I'm hoping for the best.
Agree...Hampton Inn & Suites as it was just finally renovated. Hated this hotel when it was the Country Inn Suites. We're booked there for our cruise this coming October.
Very surprised that you got a "lecture". Guest services has always been very accommodating when it comes to situations like this, and reversing any disputed charges.
