  1. Another Princess only viewpoint. There will be announcements for walk offs to marshal or assemble in a particular place by a given time. This is often in a dining room which is on a 'walk off' deck. If you observe the instructions you will only have to use elevators etc at an early hour, before the other, traditional folks are doing so.
  2. Good questions all....FLL is an airport as is MIA. POM is port of Miami. PE is Port Everglades (at Ft Lauderdale) We can help....but need answers.
  3. Unless this has changed, Princess does not allow pax on the bow. HAL does. If you stay in one place boredom will ensue. There will be plenty of time and places to explore as you do the transit. BTW, is this a full or partial transit? Oh...take a big hat...and rain gear. It was beastly hot the day we did the full transit. But it can also be a torrential downpour.
  4. We are booked on Sky for Nov 19...booked a BF, allowed upgrade...showed up 2 weeks ago...BA in the exact middle of the ship. Happened a few years ago...booked a BD, wound up with a BB on the deck with the large balconies. (Ruby Princess, I think)
  5. FYI, Carnival no longer allows this, not even water. Policy has been in place for 4 years or so. This is a plus for Princess!
  6. Lacking details I would comment that flying into Tampa would likely rival the cost of MCO and a shuttle.
  7. I'm sure you know that there is a gratuity included in the price of any drink...usually in the 18% range.
  8. There is only a minimum time before sailing....no maximum. Others are getting credit for sailings in 2024.
  9. Many are the negative reviews and comments of Airbnb and VRBO. They are both fairly new on the scene of vacation properties. And the media has reason to report on them. Sadly the media also likes to amplify anything they feel will attract more readers or views. It pays the bills. It bears a comment that the horror stories of hotels, whether chain or private, are also fairly numerous. Still, that industry is pretty mature and does not attract the media hype/attention of the Airbnb and VRBO type. We have never had a bad Uber experience, never had a bad Airbnb experience, never have used VRBO. But to read the media reports you would think that using these services is like playing Russian roulette. I would say "no more so than using traditional vacation properties". Buyer beware is always the watchword. My personal recommendation would be to take note of anything that Chris Elliott has to say about these services. http://www.elliott.org
  10. Cheapest and easiest are opposing terms. Easiest would be taxi or uber from ship #1 to ship #2. Cheapest would be to uber to the nearest Trirail station and then ride the train to the Ft Lauderdale station...then taxi or uber to the ship. I live here and am cheap and am familiar with both methods so I would choose the TriRail option.
  11. This thread is clearly a discussion of the pros and cons of AMEX as a travel agent. It is slightly interesting but clearly promotes the AMEX offer with NCL. CC rules do not allow 'named' travel agents.
  12. While the casino rate is a bit of an outlier, if you are not a CCL employee or a travel agent using TA rates, you do not qualify to be denied the SOBC.
  13. The SB is not connected to the share price or revenue report or dividend (or lack thereof) It is a marketing device designed to foster brand loyalty. It must work well....it has been in existence for many, many years, not to mention the imitators that have arisen in recent years among their competitors.
  14. I sent mine in via both email and fax (using Faxzero.com). That way there was no excuse for them to miss it. I was delighted to see it posted overnight. (Early September)
  15. Roll the dice. I-4 is nasty, but the Turnpike is no picnic. A bad wreck on the turnpike can ruin your day....but that's pretty true of any road we take these days.
  16. Priceline or Booking are good bets...they do the searching. You can filter them as you have time.
  17. Another new twist https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport/renew-online.html
  18. If you paid for the $100 future cruise DEPOSIT, you need do nothing. It will be applied, at your direction, to your next booking. This is an FCD (future cruise deposit) If you missed a port or a cruise you booked was cancelled, you will be issued an FCC....future cruise credit. Totally different critter from the FCD. Personally I use a travel agent who knows the nuances of using these items with Princess. The FCD is pretty straightforward, the FCC has a ton of different ways to use it. From your description, you have an FCD. Tis too bad you found someone at Princess who didn't know the difference. Next time tell them you have an FCD. It will go well.
  19. TriRail parking is not secure. I do not know about Brightline, but you should check. I would also suggest that you rent a car to drive from Naples...then rent again to get home. The trade off of parking fees vs. rental fees would likely be small. Several car rental companies have no drop off fees within Florida. We have done this more than once and it seems to work for us.
  20. So true...good coffee is not a problem on the Island.
  21. Welcome to CC....candidly, it is common for new folks to come here, complain and then leave. Long time CC folks can tell you about the wait for your refund/credit, etc. What you have encountered from Princess will be repeated regardless of which cruise line that you choose. I am not sure that you would have had any choice reclaiming your funds while you were onboard other than to send your wife or SO on a shopping spree. LOL So I suggest that you slow down....wait a little...stop finding ways to be frustrated, your money will arrive.
  22. Sometimes the Brightline train has a shuttle deal from their terminus in Miami to the cruise port. Still you need an uber to get from the ship to the Ft Lauderdale Brightline station.
  23. We never pre book Uber. We wait until we need it, or within 5-10 minutes. Never had a problem.
