  1. You will defiantly not be able to leave the ship after boarding. Go do your wandering around, you can show up for boarding anytime after your check in time. In the early afternoon the lines start to thin out and get less hectic around the terminal.
  2. None, you must go to a bar or the coffee bar and request you complimentary water. The water in the cabin will be charged to your account if you drink it.
  3. Make sure your reservations are linked together. Then after boarding around noon or so, check your table assignment. If it's for the 4 of you only, your set. If not ask for a table for 4, you will be accommodated.
  4. Yes, one platinum in each room covers the requirement
  5. Simple procedure. Check in on the hub app. Stay in your cabin, go get a drink, wait to be notified your table is ready. Then you have 10 minutes to the get MDR door.
  6. Long Beach anytime over LAX. The drawback is no non stops and higher cost to fly there. With todays uncertainty that your flight will depart, my suggestion is to fly in two days before your cruise.
  7. Look at your luggage tags for the B2Bs. See if either or both say platinum.
  8. Just ask any bartender to mix one up for you. The true Bushwacker is made on St. Thoms. Can't Remember what's in it but it's made a couple of different ways. St. Thomas one that's made up the tram is my favorite.
  9. Love N.O, love Miami, love 8 days over 7 days, love both itineraries. Never been on Horizon, been on Glory 5 times, our favorite ship. I would pick Horizon only because I have never been on her. Otherwise if all were equal I would go to N.O. and sail on Glory.
  10. We head straight to our cabin, drop off carry ons. Then up to the muster station. It takes about 5 minutes and it's done, scan S&S and we are on our way to lunch.
  11. Best route to Alaska is departing from Vancouver. You do not go on the west side of Vancouver Island into the Pacific Ocean. You travel the east side of the Island into the Inside Passage much calmer a trip. Coming back the same route.
  12. Never, too many people, too big a ship. Giving the Carnival Jubilee a try next year, just to get the feel of a mega ship. Feel more comfortable on a 3,000 passenger ship.
  13. I would wait a couple of weeks. If you do not receive a new invoice for each cruise with th shareholder OBC on each one, call this number 1-888-438-6744 Guest Relations
  14. Yes, Skagway has the lure of the gold rush era, and the railway, ISP is a nice change of pace from the commercialism of the other ports. ISP is a former cannery that has really nice souvenirs with an area that has old cannery machines, pictures and tools. Hoonah, is a short ride or walk. It's a native Alaskan town. It's an old town but nice to see how the local native Alaskans live. There are a couple of restaurants, hiking trails, a long zip line and great bear and whale watches.
  15. Wife loves tea time, quess I'm of to tea time each afternoon again
  16. We can disembark early due to platinum status but take our time. Out of cabin early, breakfast in the MDRand then a cup or two of coffee. We sit and talk with others waiting to disembark. Around 9:30 am we set out to retrieve our luggage. Never plan flights before 1pm.
  17. We are platinum and resumed cruising in December. All luggage tags were no higher than 3.
  18. My favorite time to cruise is January, February, March, late August, and September. Higher prices for summer months and holidays. Less kids are on the longer cruises, 10 day or more. Stay away from Holidays, too many kids. I like the eastern and southern Caribbean. Carnival has B2Bs, Journeys ( 10 days or more ) and repositioning cruises. Log on to Carnival, begin the process of booking a cruise. Each time you select a destination and month, select 10+ days. For example we are booked for two cruises next year. One a 14 day journeys to Alaska and an 18 day transatlantic from Southampton England.
  19. Register her in the kids club as soon as you board. She can make friends to hang out with. As for a leisurely breakfast, you can, but breakfast ends in the buffet and MDR at a certain time. You have to be out of your cabin by 8:30am but you can relax have a cup of coffee and wait for the debarking crowd to die down. You then have to be off the ship around 9:30am
  20. Agree, we did the round trip back in March. The weather was nice, cool on deck and had rough seas both ways.
  21. There's trivia all day long. Beginning most of the time around 1100am and running through around 5pm. Check your daily planner for the exact times each day.
  22. The area the Hyatt Regency is in, I would consider a pretty safe area. There's shopping and restaurants close by.
