  1. Beautiful pictures. Have been to Glacier Bay twice, it's spectacular. Going to Tracy Arm this April can't wait, head so much about it's beauty. Hope the fjord doesn't ice up and keep us out
  2. You will be assigned a table. You can go check it out, if not liked ask to have your table changed to a table for two.
  3. Your second leg will be in the ships system. When you board just go to the guest services desk and confirm your in their system for the second leg of your B2B.
  4. There will porters to take your luggage to your ground transportation. No airport service available. Taxis will be available, Uber requires a phone call as will car services.
  5. Try a different browser, the Carnival web site is always having problems
  6. A check in time of 1030-11:00 or as you said around 1:00 or 2:00pm will be the least crowded times. On embarkation day it's near impossible to avoid the crowd. After lunch drop your carry on off in your cabin and go out and get the layout of the ship. Come back to your cabin and unpack your luggage. Go check out the deck party, before you know it, it will be early evening and time for dinner ( if you have early or YTD ). We are platinum, and arrive early. I enjoy sitting around the Lido deck having lunch and a few drinks while people watching. And have my cruise ritual, a Guys Berger.
  7. If your party wants to sit alone go to the MDR on embarkation day around noon see if you are sitting with others. Then ask for a table for just your party.
  8. With YTD you make a reservation ( time ) for that nights dinner on the Hub App.
  9. There will be room for all four. Do you want to sit alone or with other people ? Are you all in one room ? If not to sit together you must link you booking #s together. It's polite to show up at the time you are assigned, you can be a few minutes late, but no more. The wait staff will wait those extra minutes before asking for your order. If not showing up for dinner let the staff know the night before so they won't wait for you.
  10. Only booked one GTY. It was an upsell, received our cabin confirmation 5 days later for a cruise three months later. You might not get your cabin number until check in. If this happens, when dropping luggage off with a porter give him your name. He will have your cabin number on his list.
  11. Had an obstructed view balcony on an Alaska cruise 4 years ago. The balcony was towards the rear of the ship on the Miracle. The reason it was called an obstruction was you could look out over the balcony rail and see the life boat down toward midship, no obstruction at all. Check your location in relation to the lifeboats.
  12. We do the YTD. The reasons are that you don't have to rush back to port for the early seating or have to wait until 8pm to eat. YTD gives us a chance to wind down from being out all day and not have to rush getting ready for dinner. We eat pretty much the same time 6:30 7:00 every night.
  13. My choice of port would be Vancouver. Vancouver departure goes east of Vancouver Island, calmer waters and scenery. Departing Seattle, you go west of Vancouver Island rougher waters nothing to see. Glacier Bay is amazing, it's a serene scenic journey. Tracy Arm is amazing also but ice makes it hit or miss.
  14. Just make sure all your groups bookings are linked together and you all will be seated together. This is for early or late seating, for YTD use the Hub app.
  15. You can always call and have a statement e-mailed to you.
  16. Dont know what your idea of affordable is. Hotels out by MIA are a little less pricy than downtown/Miami Beach. Some of these hotels do provide a free shuttle or a nominal fee for the service. If you decide to stay downtown, just catch a cab or Uber to the port shuttles are non existent.
  17. Have sailed from Long Beach on numerous occasions and the check in times are ignored. We are platinum and find LB to be a disaster.
  18. The latest you will most likely be able to leave the ship is 9:30, rarely have I heard of 10:00. We delay until around 9:30 all the time. Ask for a high luggage number, it will then come out close to when you debark the ship.
  19. Have been to Glacier Bay two times, late August and mid September. Had no problem making it to Margerie and Grand Pacific Glacier. There are other glaciers on your way to Margerie Glacier, keep your eyes open. Glacier Bay is very wide, ice does not jam up. Looking at a map prior to entering the bay gives you a good layout of where the glaciers are.
  20. You do not have to provide any private travel info to Carnival if you do not want to.
  21. You can drop your baggage off in the cabin prior to the cabin being ready. Very rude of that person. Probably had a bad morning.
