  2. A cab is the same price. its like 3 miles. why wait for the shuttle.
  3. That is a really tiny ship compared to Oasis.
  4. Duffy's sports bar next to Embassy Suites on 17th. street. Go early though. They have 2 for 1 drinks all day, every day. Food is really good for a chain Bar. It is real close to the port, maybe 3 blocks.
  5. ES is crowded, elevators are very, very slow. Breakfast is a long line 50 people plus. Managers reception is BUD beer and cheap wine, pretzels, popcorn, ect. Rooms are very dated, ours was dirty in the bath room. Had to stay there because our go to hotel was sold out, Hyatt Place se 10th street behind ES.We have stayed in almost every hotel on 17th. St. in past 15 years and Es would be our last choice.
  6. We have done this before. Grab a cab and go to the nearest hotel, like Hilton Marina. Its like 1 block from the port. Go inside and have them hold your luggage. Give them $ 5-10. Buy a day pass there to ride the water taxi. It boards right next to the hotel. You can get on and off all day and see a lot of Fort Lauderdale. When you are ready to go to the airport, its a 12-15 min ride. We have done this at Embassy Suites on 17th. st. and also Hyatt Place Cruise Port Convention center when having a late flight. Fort Lauderdale and the port are 2-3 miles apart, so real close. Plenty of stops on the Taxi to eat or have drinks. I think the Water Taxi is about $35 P.P. all day.
  7. Not sure how it is less expensive, for May 30, 31 it is $246 a night. Hyatt Place is $109, and $119 thru Valuetrips.
  8. We have 2 days pre cruise, and 2 days post cruise BOOKED thru Valutrips for May. Got conformation 12/18 and we submitted on 12/11. Took 1 week for conformation. We have used them now 7-8 times in the past 5 -6 years.
  9. May 20th 10 days on Emerald Princess $679 p.p. plus port taxes inside cabin. Royals prices are too high so we are trying Princess.
  10. Softer beds. Last 2 cruises on the Allure we had 2 comforters and bed was still hard. My back can not take it for 7 nights.
  11. This is why we always arrive a day or 2 early and also a day or 2 late.
  12. Looks like a cab or uber is the way to go from now on from airport to the hotel. We have 2 requests in as of yesterday for May pre and post cruise. Going to give Princess a try for first time.
  13. gamblinmon, you are not charged by VT, your credit card is only used to secure your reservation. You are charged at the hotel.
  14. You need to think about as if you owned the ship. All of them sat out in the water during covid for what, over a year, They were still paying to keep it operational with a small crew and making no money. You can not just anchor it or put it in storage. Nobody bailed them out, so they had to borrow money or go bankrupt. None of them did, so now that people are back to cruising its about supply and demand. They are trying to get out of debt. If ships start to sale half full, prices will come down.
  15. E.S. is the low end of the totem pole. Been there, done that. Just about every other hotel on 17th street is nicer in many ways.
  16. This is better than cables. Keep it in trunk and it stays charged for 6 months. Can be recharged in a few hours with a usb cable. Will start your car. Do not need another car like cables.

  18. Booking either way includes breakfast.
  19. Hyatt Place is indeed a great stay. We have been to most in the area and like it the best. Very close to airport (10 min) and port, few blocks away.
  20. Any hotel will hold your luggage for like $5 tip. done it many times when flying home late the same day.
  21. SAS, MJS, ECT, will shuttle you from FFL to the port on Miami for $ 15- $ 20 per person, each way.
  22. Wow, they have increased the price quite a bit. Will be taking an uber next May. Thank you.
