  1. Or have a no tipping cruise with service charge rolled in. End of debate.
  2. Isn't the service charge/gratuity a tip?
  3. Thank you! Glad to help. We absolutely loved it. My husband is a pretty simple guy who would be happy in insides all the time and the buffet every meal. He was raving the whole time. He enjoyed talking to the YC staff and kept saying how nice they are. This went also for the Divina itself. Whenever we talked to staff, they really were nice and not just for tips or a review.
  4. I believe it's under manage your reservation. Or you can call.
  5. Wow! Yet another reason to take a cheap veranda or inside. I am so glad I discovered MSC and the YC. 10s of thousands of dollars...!!
  6. Just don't sit near some people on cruise critic or you will be a topic of discussion.
  7. We received ours 68 days out. Others 75. This is for the Sydney to Tahiti Spirit.
  8. I would cancel. Use the money for a specialty dinner which would be cheaper (and better) and sit at south beach.
  9. I attached pictures from July 2023 so you can at least get a point of reference. And of the reef we went to.
  10. I haven't seen this since the restart. But another option is to look for a snorkeling vendor who will take you out past that area to a better reef. I think there was one near Bananarama (sp?).
  11. If you go to their website, they explain everything well. They are also really good with responses especially with WhatsApp. When we were there on the 1st, they did have a group coming at 1pm so they are used to crazy port times.
  12. yes. It's really easy to find.
  13. Also, it is about 0.7 miles from ship to pickup. If you have wifi and WhatsApp, text them that you are leaving the ship. It took us 15 minutes but we walk fast. Go out of the port area/madhouse right near the flamingos and through the gelato ice cream place. Keep following exit signs. You do not need a cab if you are a walker. They did offer massages $60 I believe which has to be paid in cash as does the tip. Double check though. We are going here every time we return to Costa Maya. No vendors = heaven!
  14. I think they are reserved for guests. But ask when you get there if they can set a chair up for you on the beach. We were there in October 2022 and January 2024. No sargassum.
  15. I am blond and blue eyed with fair Irish skin. Got the exact same message. I think it's more lighting then anything else when taking your own picture. Edited to add, just read your new post. Good to know.
  16. Probably because people don't read descriptions.
  17. Couple of suggestions. If airport food areas are open before leaving secured area, just eat there as it takes a while for luggage anyway. I don't know how long you plan to eat but you should be ok. I wouldn't be more than 20-30 minutes. Also, have no idea how you are getting to port or how big your family is but you always uber or lyft to a restaurant/diner and then take a 2nd uber to port. We actually did this in San Juan and in Miami when we had an early arrival at 8am both times. Of course it was just the 2 of us but both eateries were pretty nice about us keeping our 4 suitcases to the side. You can always Yelp and call any place to see.
  18. Some people like vibration in a bed....๐Ÿ˜‰
  19. no. Per a few taxi drivers. Used to be.
  20. We had read the bad reviews of splash wave and opted for Belize cruise excursions which was much better. What a shame!
  21. lol you need to watch a show on MSC!! It's like being on acid.
  22. Since I have zero interest in setting foot on the Icon and love reading about new ports, I will continue to follow along. I cruise for the ports. So far these are really impressive.
  23. Yes, it was a culture shock. I have never seen adults act like this like ravaging wolves with no regard for others. The pushing in lines, hands grabbing food instead of using utensils, the Promenade pizza and snack area being overrun... It reminded me of the scene from the Lion King with the Wildebeest stampede for 5 days. My husband and I were so thankful we had a Grand Suite and didn't have to deal with the riff raff too much. We have been in Europe, Asia, South America, Mexico, and all over the US. Plus on Carnival, MSC, Celebrity, NCL and Royal cruises. Have never seen such an obnoxious crowd as this one.
