  1. Emerald is currently sailing at 80% capacity but it is plain to see in all areas of the ship that there is a shortage of staff and a lot of drinks not available.
  2. They aren't wearing masks last night in theatre for 10pm show about 40% were not wearing masks and many walking around the ship without masks.
  3. Nonsense Princess have a company policy to protect passengers and staff and have a duty to do so. They should not have filled tenders at 4 ports to full capacity without insisting the wearing of masks. The Captain made announcement that compulsory wearing of masks inside unless drinking or eating and nobody is enforcing it.
  4. Obviously not on same Emerald as I am currently on many wandering around without masks carrying drinks so they have excuse. In the 10pm show tonight about 40% were not wearing masks and people cramming into lifts when there is recommended a maximum of 6. People having meals delivered to cabins on deck 10 in cardboard boxes as obviously isolating in own cabins as all on deck 12 are full. Princess have not got control of situation and not helped by having 4 tender ports and Princess staff cramming people in to full capacity with very few wearing masks.
  5. There was a Maitre'd available on our current cruise on Emerald at the Da Vinci restaurant on midships deck 6 to answer any queries with regards to dining in MDR. We saw him because the upgrade had wiped out most of our times pre booked on App pre cruise. He told us not to worry as original bookings made on App show up as ours did. Also those booking speciality restaurants don't book onboard on App book direct with restaurant as App doesn't always work due to glitches (it's crap). We made a booking on App which was confirmed and when we turned up for our meal restaurant was closed.
  6. Very wise words about getting travel insurance cover for anyone as soon as you book a holiday. Also very good reasons and information given to help you and wish your wife a speedy recovery.
  7. It is common in UK where either glass are marked to notify of measure or have measures behind the bar to pour wine into to get correct amount prior to pouring in glass. Also sizes are different in UK compared to US so possibly that is why you get less complaints about size of drinks onboard from people from the UK.
  8. My understanding is if you book a Saver you book a minimum grade i.e.inside, balcony etc and you could be given a higher grade in any position on the ship and once given cannot refuse it or swap it.
  9. But when you could have test to prove negativity of COVID 3 days before you get on ship and many no doubt got onboard with negative tests but obviously had COVID caught in those 3 days. I agree I am surprised it took so long for the announcement, every lift has a sign outside saying recommend max of 6 but everyone ignored it.
  10. Why are you surprised until the Captain made his announcement very few were wearing masks round the ship. In everyone's cabin on embarkation was a letter recommending masks in theatre and in tenders yet very few wore them and Princess crammed the tenders like sardines. It is no great shock to be in the position we are on now and have been expecting it to happen.
  11. In the UK wine measures are 125ml, 175ml and 250ml at majority of places.
  12. There is no enforcement on Emerald until today only recommendations which most have ignored.
  13. Just been announced by the Captain due to number of COVID cases onboard in guests and staff masks will be worn at all times except when eating and drinking. Not surprised lifts say recommend max of 6 in lifts and to wear masks and to wear masks in theatre and nobody has adhered to it with sometimes 10 in lifts. The biggest risk though is tenders Princess recommend wearing masks and people are ignoring it and Princess have been cramming people on tenders like sardines.
  14. But if you are on Princess Plus just order. 2 glasses really don't see the problem. It would be a great struggle for the majority to drink 15 drinks in 24hrs so it's just moaning for moaning sake. Currently on Emerald. And yes there are issues with availability but as far as sizes of measures there is no problem.
  15. Not my experience on Emerald at the moment there are not many cocktails above 12dollars. My only complaint is been no British bitter onboard Bass Pale Ale on menu but out of stock only option is lager or Guinness. Also no brandy available for after dinner drinks or in bars but available in cocktails up until last night and no availability in cocktails now. Also on day we embarked asked for a coffee menu in International Cafe as wife likes speciality iced coffees but half were not available.
  16. No there is no shuttle from Greenock into Glasgow you either book an excursion through Princess or go on the train
  17. We had an aft suite on QE on deck 5 Q6 on November 2019 and we noticed the vibration but the only time it affected us was on the last day when packing suitcases. It was that bad we had to leave the suite and came back later
  18. We are currently on Emerald and bath robes were in our cabin when we embarked but the only Elite bathroom amenities was one tube of body lotion everything else is by request.
  19. Then go for Princess Plus includes all drinks up to 12dollars, wi-fi and gratuities it is a bargain.
  20. P&Os IT Dept have great difficulty in everything.
  21. As long as you are outside the payment of final balance you can transfer your cruise to any other on sale free of charge
  22. Sorry but it is happening a lot more than occasionally and there are many complaints of people having unknown charges added to their account either onboard or on credit card or after the cruise. Many are of some considerable amounts in my case over 80 dollars for a bottle of wine. Luckily we were onboard and I went straight to Queens Lounge where charge was made. It was 1030pm when I spoke to the manager and asked what the charge for wine was at 8pm. She waffled for a while and then she blamed one of her staff and said we realised it was a mistake straight away. So I asked why wasn't it removed straight away and she couldn't answer me and sorry to say due to her body language and face didn't believe a word. She then removed the amount there and then but I honestly believe they were hoping I wouldn't notice the charge for a bottle of wine during dinner.
  23. Perhaps the prospect of waiting hours for Cunard to answer which seems to be the norm these days wherever you are in the World. Apparently its called White Star Service.
  24. IMO one of the main benefits of P&O cancelling ports at the last minute and not replacing them with other ports of call is the profit being made on port fees and taxes which is paid for by every passenger in their cruise fare. This is automatically kept by P&O as pure profit as there are no costs to them. The P&Oers will stick up for P&O by saying they lose revenue from excursions not sold and the extra cost of food consumed onboard but think these are outweighed by the extra income from purchases onboard drinks etc that would have not been taken if majority of passengers are off the ship and in ports. All I know is that P&O either cancel ports of call during the cruise, possibly due to weather which can understand, but there seems to be many ports of call either cancelled or changed prior to cruise but surprisingly after final balance is paid. P&Os answer is always "operational reasons" which means nothing and think they should treat their customers with more respect and give a more definite reason as if they dont and keep on doing it people will have enough and start to look elsewhere for their cruises. The recent change to Iona cruises sold with Geiranger as a port of call is unforgiveable and P&O should come clean and tell the real reason why they have ben cancelled and at the very least a free shuttle boat should be given so that people can visit Geiranger as advertised as many book Norway with this port as one of the main reasons for booking it.
