Not this one. I try not to generalize.
  2. Oh I don't really disagree with you. But this particular one is so egregious and so ???? it seems pretty straightforward how the credit card company would rule. And, like you, I can get pretty darn involved, going to the top pretty quickly 🙂
  3. There are only a few places we're interested in for a cruise and other land-based DIYs that further decrease cruise possibilities. But those cruise lines might hold some interest so I'll definitely be taking a look. PS: We have no interest in Med, Carib, Alaska, TA and probably some others that aren't leaping into my mind. In July we're doing B2B of Celtic and Baltic areas beginning in Amsterdam and ending in Stockholm.
  4. I believe that credit card disputes will give the money back to the passenger.
  5. Did I miss any judgmental comments. And having traveled over quite a bit of South America, a little cruise but mostly DIY, I don't even think of SA and Antarctica as anywhere near the same. I remember chuckling when we went to the Falklands from Antarctica and seeing greenery. 🙂
  6. After you or someone shared the cost breakdown between O and SB I'll be taking a look also. I can't imaging our taking more than one or two cruises so that helps amortize.
  7. We did the GDR twice and actually preferred Terrace Cafe (yum - the lobster tails, shrimp and lamb chops). We did each of the three (at that time just not crazed about Asian fusion) and then grabbed a second at Jacques. No losers.
  8. Check our Norwegian Hurtigruten. We did Antarctica and a Norwegian coastal cruise and adored both.
  9. I can't speak for Seabourn but we did one on Hurtigruten a few years ago. Easy peasy and I'm not very "spry." Help in and out of the zodiaks. Paths to walk on when onshore. And I simply chose not to do the more strenuous things. And didn't feel like I missed a thing.
  10. You can also carry on your alcohol and have drinks in your cabin. But in the cabin only.
  11. When we travel anywhere intl I made a little note that goes in my wallet: $1 = $10 = Etc. Gets me close enough. If I'm going for something expensive easy enough to do the conversion.
  12. Scrambling a year ahead of time...when it's no longer Antarctica?
  13. How long was your cruise? Do you not want the 'regular' venues?
  14. Yep. And that goes back decades to when I worked for a major international airline. All virtual.
  15. Whereas I loathe the sun (sand also) so I could give my allotment to anyone else.
  16. Oh she-gawd no! I've only been in Chicago when changing planes and it's on my bucket list...for great food. Not for Cheddars!
  17. We sold our apt there a few years ago and I really miss it. But we've gotten back a couple of times, once pre-post.
