  1. I sure won't be booking full suites anymore since I get nothing for it. I liked room service as included but that take away is a deal breaker. I don't drink so no packages meet my needs. I have a few more cruises booked then I will be looking at other ways to travel. I took some bus tours and liked them and will be looking more closely at them again. Flame away but my daily gratuity will be cut in half on my next cruises. I had reduced it by 20% now it will be 50%. With all this gouging Princess can compensate their crew.
  2. Princess suites have never ben a good value as compared to other cruise lines like RCL or Celebrity. By Attrition they get worst. Full suites should have reserved seating at shows (they do on RCL) but Princess gives that perk to those that drink alcohol in their package. Mini suites are a much better value.
  3. The amount of crew they have added to the tipping pool is also out of hand. Do I get better entertainment in a suite or from the revenue dept or guest services that They ask for more then lower cabin categories. Tipping went beyond over board and out of hand, I wear a flame suit to post on this blog---------------I reduce my tips at guest services to $10 PP PD. That can't be done if you have the gratuity in a package or prepay. CREW APPRECIATION PAYMENT INFORMATION To simplify the tipping process for our guests, a discretionary crew appreciation payment will be automatically added to your shipboard account.Crew appreciation amounts will increase starting with voyages sailing on or after 2/20/23 to USD $18 Suites, $17 Mini-suites, Cabanas and Club Class, $16 for Interior, Oceanview, and Balcony Staterooms per day (including children). This crew appreciation payment will be shared amongst those staff that help provide and support your cruise experience, including those in the Bar, Dining, Entertainment, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Galley and Onboard Revenue areas.
  4. Since I never book below a mini suite and do a meta upgrade only I'll be happy with whatever full suite they give me.
  5. RCL has had reserved seating for it's Pinnacle and Diamond Plus tiers for years. It is a loyalty perk. Princess is merely coping them but charging for it.
  6. Is it business class that entitles you to the lounge? Domestic flights do not get access to the lounges anymore. it's for international flights. Check to be sure so you won't be disappointed.
  7. I use gift cards I buy with a 10% discount so it makes sense nobody would refund the face value since you didn't pay face value. I had a cruise booked and cancelled during covid and had used a dozen cards. Princess combined them into one gift card for me. In May when I sailed I brought a gift card to guest services and they applied it to my OBC. I had no left over so it wasn't an issue getting the card reloaded with the balance.
  8. "Any Refundable OBC not used by end of voyage is refunded via a check sent in the mail some time following end of voyage. If the amount is small - around $25 - the guest can obtain a cash refund at Guest Services." This is not true if the refundable credit was from a gift card. The gift card is reloaded with remaining balance. If you lost or tossed the gift card they will issue you a new gift card.
  9. Look at the menu online so you can decide for yourself if it's to your liking. It's just a specialty restaurant with an up charge.
  10. I dislike Lavazza coffee so I hope there are other options. I drink a lot of coffee, plain Yuban is my speed.
  11. Yes it will be refundable back to original payment method which was a gift card.
  12. Because it's waitlisted and in order to be waitlisted it required a deposit
  13. Here's the scenario I'm working on to help a friend. They are waitlist with Princess because the big box travel agency doesn't do waitlists. A deposit was placed and a waitlisted booking number was created. Can this be transferred to the TA after it clears the wait list or is the clock ticking from today when they started the waitlist?
  14. " What we take as normal they were amazed with the Int'l cafe and choices and 'Really its free?".. "YES" (we all had the beverage package). " No it's NOT free , you paid for it since you had the beverage package. The other foods were not free they were included in your cruise fare. It seems a common mistake that people ( not just the OP ) state something was free when in reality it is baked into your fare.
  15. You proved a great point. Tipping the porters did not get your luggage to you any faster and didn't mean any care was even taken to keep your tags intact. You pay too much attention to others around you and ignored what was positive,
  16. How Kosher are you? If strict how can you eat off of a plate that probably at some point had shrimp or pork on it? Will you need paper plates and plastic silverware?
  17. Does anyone know if they also do bidding on cruise tours?
  18. Are you past final payment? If you are you cannot get a price adjustment so getting an upgrade was the next best thing.
  19. Disagree entirely. I will never carry a phone with me on a ship. I disengage from every day stress and relax on a cruise. I have sailed 4 times since the Pandemic ended with Princess and never needed a phone at all. You can order room service via the phone in your cabin or on the TV or place the breakfast card menu on your door the night before.
  20. Of course not, it's all dependent on drinking
  21. I just booked a really good deal for a California coastal next year on a resident of California special.
  22. I got a response that my cruise was indeed eligible but it was for "new bookings only"
