  1. I have not been able to resolve this with AARP. Yes I bought the card on the AARP website after logging in and going to the rewards page. I bought the card while I was on board the Island Princess to add to my folio since the shore excursions and other purchases were higher then anticipated. When the reward came through it showed a $500 balance immediately. Within 5 minutes the balance showed ZERO. I went to the Princess gift card inquiry page and it showed the card had a zero balance. The charge pended and went through. Visa tells me Jan 31 is the date the $460 will get reversed if AARP doesn't resolve the issue.
  2. Just got scammed for the $460 I charged on AARP for a Princess gift card. The card has a zero balance. I called AARP and they said call the merchant , Princess and see what happened. I called Princess and they said call who I bought it from because the numbers for the gift card don't exisit. Of course I put a dispute in with my visa and we'll see how it's handled. The rewards came through in an email and the gift card had a number and a pin but said zero balance.
  3. I'm on the Island Princess now. There is a plethora of scooters and wheelchairs and I couldn't quantify the large number of canes. I have noticed an abundance of consideration for people who need help. It has been nothing but pleasant that we've seen, elevators included. The show has minimal open area for scooter/WC's so it would require arriving at least 30 minutes early which is true for most of the theatre.
  4. I enjoyed it complimentary having been in a suite. I enjoyed the experience more then the food although I found enough to eat. I would not pay $150 for it. I do not drink so the wine pairing was wasted on me. It's really a bit more than $150 when you factor in you've already paid for all your meals .
  5. I have bought a gift card while on a cruise (my laptop) and take your laptop to guest services and they will apply the credit. I obviously don't have a printer on board so this work around does the trick if I find I need more OBC.
  6. There is only one extra dish offered that's not on the menu. The lack of waiting for a table is the main perk of reserve class, the food is the same as the main dining room. Since you're already in a mini suite the cabin will be identical, the location will change. If you're in a mini suite on deck eight you have a fully covered balcony and if you switch to reserve class you will be on deck 9 , not a covered balcony so location is personal choice as to which is a better location. In reserve class there are seldom sharing tables, they are mostly 4 tops and a few 6 tops for bigger groups.
  7. I don't get the mean less questions. If you already knew you loved the aft facing suite why the questions?
  8. I'll bring a tote bag from home. It's handy for all the excursions to have a few water bottles and a snack.
  9. I dislike aft facing cabins period. I prefer mid ship suites. I sail mostly in suites for what used to be decent perks. Now the perks are sorely lacking. The aft has a few disadvantages to my likes. The wake is noisy, there could be ash from above that blows onto the balcony and you can't see ahead or side to side unless it's a corner aft. It is also too far from the elevators, especially if you're carrying some thing. As to Vista suite vs any other full suite, I find any of them just fine. They all have a free standing shower and plenty of seating and counter space. I choose my suite based on location and price.
  10. Have they started giving the light weight blue tote bags again? For a while they were a supply chain problem and not available. Are the elite bathroom amenities back or still "supply chain" issues.
  11. Ask, all they can say is no it can't be done. There's usually an Indian dish in the buffet.
  12. Took me less then 5 minutes at the pier in San Pedro.I refuse to pay for something I am entitled to! Yes entitled to my cabin door key.
  13. I email stock to proof to SBPCL@Princessceuises.com or FAX to 661-753-0180
  14. Deck 8 are the best mini's because they are fully covered IMHO.
  15. They have huge signs stating JEWS not welcome and they welcome Hamas. I wish they would pull Turkey from my itinerary later this month. Big Kudos to Oceania for pulling the port, better safe then sorry.
  16. All suites have the same access. As noted above it's limited to self serve like the stone heated loungers and sauna. Any service is extra such as massages, facials and at regular prices.
  17. There is no definitive answer until you board and see what they say. Last time I did this cruise they stopped running the tenders late at night .
  18. Maybe but you'll never know until you're on board and specifically ask.
  19. I sail in a suite and have breakfast in the specialty restaurant every morning. The buffet has a few things the specialty restaurant doesn't like a smoked white fish. I go up to the buffet and getva plate with the white fish and bring it to the specialty restaurant. They bring me the cream cheese and bagel to go with it. So experience dictate you can bring food into the specialty restaurant at Breakfast at least.
  20. Princess suite perks are sorely lacking. Stay in the least expensive suite for the best value but there are few perks compared to other cruise lines.
  21. I've never used the app and never had a second of frustration. I get my medallion at the pier, I prefer to spend my $10 mailing fee on other things. Show up at the pier anytime in the morning and be aware boarding starts around 11 AM. I always hand carry/wheel my own luggage, even my full sized suitcase fits through the scanner.
  22. That's not a tip it's a bribe. There should be no reservation in the main dining room, it should be as it was advertised "anytime" dining.
  23. Is it mandatory or can it be adjusted at guest services.
  24. I get the same service as anyone else so why should I pay more then other cabins. It used to be we all gave the cash to our servers and it wasn't tiered amounts. Why are you comparing working in the USA service industry to other countries where crew make a fortune compared to what they would earn at home.
  25. The steward doesn't know that, you use that as a scare tactic to intimidate people. I have reduced my gratuities on every cruise for the past 6-7 years and my service has always been exceptional. Guest services assures me they don't disseminate this information, it goes straight to corporate.
