  1. Another thread mentions revisions to Nieuw Statendam itineraries due to a technical problem that cannot be fixed until dry dock. Have you heard anything about this? Perhaps there will be an 'Meet the Captain' session and you could ask Captain Noel is he disappointed to be missing Cork (his home port) on the August cruise!
  2. Sorry to hear you will not be visiting us! The itinerary changes are disappointing. I wonder will they update their website to show the new itineraries or will they wait until people book again before advising them of the itinerary changes? Even shortened port times will have a major effect on the viability of visiting many European ports.
  3. Previously is was based on category of stateroom and length of voyage. It was substantially more for higher categories.
  4. @Overhead Fred Thanks for the Bread Pudding - I was starting to miss it. @Vict0riann you should have posted the later picture of the empty plate 😉😁
  5. Although it was offered as a 14 day cruise, it was also offered as 2 x 7 day cruises. December 9th - 16th and December 16th - 23rd. Although it is not possible to book the December 9th - 16th segment nor can you book the 14 day cruise, it is possible to book the December 16th - 23rd segment. My money is on a charter December 9th - 16th, so they had to pull the 14 day cruise.
  6. From HAL's FAQ's......... For safety reasons, travel irons, steamers, and electric water heaters/kettles may not be used in your stateroom. You may order hot water from our complimentary In-Room Dining service 24 hours a day.
  7. Nothing over here about reduced deposits! A few nice images on the website, but nothing else.
  8. The ship (Koningsdam) which does the Mexican Riviera cruises out of SD will be sailing to Hawaii and Marquesas in February.
  9. My understanding is that Bank of Ireland UK PLC, Ulster Bank, and Danske Bank still have sterling notes in circulation and legal. First Trust Bank did not issue polymer notes so their paper notes ceased to be legal currency last year. It is certainly confusing that the official currency of Ireland is the euro, but Bank of Ireland does not issue euro notes but issues Sterling notes. Now if we want to discuss Irish, English and Scottish Groats.......🤣🤣
  10. staxi.nl €124 from Rotterdam cruise port front door to Schiphol airport door. Make sure you mention the number of bags or they may send a Tesla with limited storage space!
  11. Joy, I think they can be a bit unreliable. Maybe maintenance costs on the K were too high so back to soap and water!
  12. I really don't like those hand washers....can't see the condition of the inside of the machine and I am loathe to stick my hands where I can't see what is there. 😟
  13. There is a corkage charge on ALL bottles of wine brought onboard of $20 per bottle, however a "reasonable quantity" is permitted. Happy hours seem to vary between 25% and 50% off second drink. Wine is included.
  14. For Cobh you should pre book a private tour or just use a taxi which will be at the quayside. There is a train station right beside where the ship docks, which will take you into Cork city. There will not be "tours" offered at the quayside as you would see in the Caribbean.
  15. Similar with Bank Of Ireland sterling notes! 😭 Trader: "oi mate, these are euro notes". Me: er, they are not euro, they are sterling. Trader: "Nah mate, Ireland is euro....I'm not stupid" 🤔 Me: will you take a credit card? 😟
  16. Last September the water supply for those sinks was so hot it was dangerous to use. Had to ask several times for someone to 'adjust' the flow mix.
  17. or was it because the powdery sand had been washed away by wind driven waves?
  18. Excursions are price in USD. The $100 credit in HIA is also USD.
  19. Will your medical/travel insurance not cover the cost?
  20. If offered you will be able to book them within your HAL account, manage my booking, Dining on the HAL website.
  21. No you didn't miss it as it is not on the UK/Europe website. Suggest you make a booking with a 'Courtesy Hold' and then phone the UK office on Monday morning to confirm your dining requirements with them.
  22. 😉The ones in Ireland don't, nor do the ones in the rest of EU. But then again, there are no Walmarts in the EU. 🤣 p.s. I know you knew that! p.p.s. before someone mentions that Asda in UK is owned by Walmart, do note that I stated EU and not geographical Europe.😉
