  1. One thing to remember is the different standards. Just as a US gallon is different to an Imperial measure Gallon, with beds a 'king' in Europe is different to a 'king' in UK and different again to a 'king' in USA. https://www.naturalbedcompany.co.uk/2020/07/30/everything-you-need-to-know-about-uk-us-and-continental-bed-sizes/
  2. But I think it does work reasonably successfully onboard, which is it's prime purpose. Also, when onboard the app itself is not required as your browser is used. I have just looked at the MDR menu shown on my Navigator App and it is showing the St Patrick's Day specials.
  3. That must be new. I won't call it an upgrade as I am not sure I want the sound of phones pinging all over the ship or worse still, many different personalised notification sounds disturbing the ambience of so many (up until now) peaceful places.
  4. The pre pay grats are priced in the same currency as the booking, so if you booked in CAD then the grats will be priced in CAD, and at a good FX rate. Pre pay grats are classed as Travel Planning, and everything else will be in USD.
  5. There is a notification but no sound nor vibration, only a visible notification.
  6. No such thing! 😉 They just couldn't run quick enough! 😁
  7. Now if only I could use my Mariner 50% discount on wine packages plus the $11 per bottle HIA discount I could be on a winner.
  8. Absolutely! But there may well be indications. Such as have levels recovered since last year? How is this years level compared with 2021 or previous. Maybe there is talk of taking pre-emptive action. Already this year the snow fall levels in the Alps are much lower than normal which will lead to less melt water and lower levels in the rivers. Also France has recorded its longest winter drought.
  9. So, NSD is issuing receipts? Do they ask for signatures? That is certain to slow service down.
  10. Just trying to get an early feeler for information regarding water levels and any possible effects for this years cruises scheduled from Amsterdam. Have there been any indications in the local media as to if the cruises will be moved again to Rotterdam or Ijmuiden this year or does it appear that Amsterdam sailings will be ok? @MAVIP @Dutch_Travelgirl @FreestyleNovice @Ine
  11. Yes, I got my dates wrong,Sorry. There is a bus option from the shopping centre. Route 7 or 7a from 8.13 am
  12. True. Dart is a commuter train so limited service on Sunday. Even Saturdays have a lower service schedule than weekdays. I had thought that the mainline train from Rosslare would be through Dun Laoghaire earlier than 09.18hr but my link was for the wrong date! Sorry. There are buses that leave from the shopping centre, just a few yards up the road from the train station, starting from 08.13hrs. https://www.transportforireland.ie/plan-a-journey/?name_origin=Dun+Laoghaire%2C+Dun+Laoghaire&nameInfo_origin=51014524&name_destination=Pearse%2C+Pearse+Station&nameInfo_destination=51026157&itdTripDateTimeDepArr=dep&qqueryMacro=true&language=en&useProxFootSearch=on&itdDate=20230313&itdTime=1025&custom_suggestMacro=true&std3_commonMacro=trip&std3_customMacro=true&inclMOT_8=1
  13. I presume that you are being facetious. Cobh, formerly known as Queenstown, is known as the Titanic's last stop because that is the port from which her last 123 passengers (63 male 60 female) boarded. The ship did not dock but the passengers were tendered out to the ship which was moored at the outer anchorage at Roches Point (which, by the way, is a wonderful spot to be when the cruise ships are sailing in or out of Cork harbour). Titanic was moored in Cork harbour for only 2 hours but left a lasting memory in the town.
  14. I don't want my ducks hidden, I want them on a plate and served with a nice orange sauce.
  15. Tender. It really is a small port.
  16. We used staxi.nl last year for AMS to Rotterdam and Rotterdam to AMS. Rotterdam cruise port to AMS airport was €124.50
  17. September of last year and there was no HAL provided transfer offered. There were cabs, buses and HoHo just at the quayside.
  18. Within the Terms and Conditions of the offer it does specify which restaurants will be eligible for the offer. Usually once in Pinnacle and once in Tamarind on ships that have it, otherwise it is in Canaletto.
  19. Yes 50% discount from the package price plus 18% gratuity which is charged on the full value, so (Package Price - 50%) + (package price x 0.18) = billed amount.
  20. If the itinerary lists 'Cruising Stockholm Archipelago' then I believe that the ship may leave Stockholm early for the scenic cruising during daylight hours.
  21. It is only the unreserved taxis that wait up the hill. Your driver should be able to meet you quite adjacent to where the tender drops you ashore (see map in post #4). That area between the terminal (it is a ferry terminal and not a cruise terminal) and RSG Yacht Club is free access so the driver should be able to meet you there. I have no idea about tendering times in DL, sorry.
  22. Currently my Android (Samsung) phone is showing version 4.15 I went to the Play Store and when I look for the Navigator App it tells me 'this App won't work for your device'. I am currently at Android version 8 on a 7 year old Samsung S7 edge. If the latest updates for Navigator will only work on newer versions of Android, then HAL will continue to have problems with Navigator functionality for users.
  23. If you are asking about taxis in Dun Laoghaire, then there is a taxi stand/rank on Marine Road (straight up the hill from the Dart Station), but it is a small taxi rank with max 7 taxis at any one time. (I should say that the taxi rank was located there pre covid and I have not been there since reopening)
  24. It is not an acceptable wine bottle either. Wine/Champagne bottles are 750 ml. A half bottle of wine is 375 ml. The label shows Beer and 355ml - that's two strikes 😉
