  1. You get iced tea in the Lido buffet or any food place for no extra charge. ~Nancy
  2. @QuattroRomeo it was so thoughtful of your husband to help that bartender get his record sales of Sweet Beaver shots!!! What a guy!! 😉
  3. Hotel in Lisbon - Hotel Avenida Palace | Luxury and charm That's where I was booked before the aborted Symphony cruise in June 2020. I hope to eventually get there! ~Nancy
  4. I've not seen a "destination fee" in Ft. Lauderdale before. Will the hotel tell you what that is? I'm leery of any "deal" that is so much lower than the going rate. I'd ask lots of questions!! ~Nancy
  5. Your story demonstrates that everyone should always compare a regular cabin vs the single cabins! In this case just book the regular interior, save the money and continue on your merry way to enjoy your cruise! ~Nancy
  6. Yes, only the small door section though. They are the same as Rotterdam. See post #3 ~Nancy
  7. What exactly do you mean by "Reasonably Priced"? I love Riverside Hotel. Water taxi stops right there. Also read all the many, many threads on this forum about hotels. Scroll down the page and you will see them! ~Nancy
  8. I don't like sharing tables in general (with strangers) but definitely not at breakfast......and no one would want to share a table with me at that hour!!! (Night Owl here......😉) ~Nancy
  9. I agree about the Shore Excursion desk placement! So inconvenient and the hours were too short on my last Rotterdam cruise. I had changes on a couple of excursions and never could get in touch with them since they didn't have phone or online service. "They" really need to move it to a space near the guest services in the center of the ship and return the Crow's Nest space to its original use!! My 2 cents! ~Nancy
  10. Me too! I've never had it and now I will for sure on Zuiderdam next May! I love red cabbage, but lingonberry jam will be acceptable!! 😊 ~Nancy
  11. On my first visit to the UK in 2000 I had a chance to go to an Elton John concert at a relatively small outdoor venue and decided to do something else instead. BIG mistake!!! Happy Freedom Day to the USA!!! 🗽 ~Nancy
  12. This above may not totally answer your question, but just now on Google Maps I discovered this cool distance measuring tool when checking your distance at Bora Bora. At the bottom of the picture it shows an approximate distance from the lobby to the most distant OWB. 1,213 ft I'm getting a new knee soon and have needed this kind of information myself, so thanks for asking the question because I discovered a new tool in my travel toolbox! Have a wonderful cruise!! ~Nancy
  13. Have you checked if there is a roll call for your cruise? That's a great place to share tour information about a specific cruise! Viking Ocean Cruise Roll Calls - Cruise Critic Message Board Forums Also, the ports of call forum is a good place also for specific ports since the information isn't cruise line specific. Check this link: British Isles/Western Europe - Cruise Critic Community Have fun! ~Nancy
  14. "Usually" it is, but only from 12pm to 1pm in my experience. ~Nancy
  15. HAL has the tissue dispenser next to the door in all public restrooms that I have been in! After experiencing that many years ago, I use a paper towel or something to open the door when leaving any public restroom off ship as well now. Seems to be working so far!! 🤞 ~Nancy
  16. If you want the largest family sized veranda, the aft corner Neptune Suites look huge!!! This is from Nieuw Statendam, but Rotterdam should be about the same. 17. These are on the Rotterdam deck 4 larger depth balconies port side aft, but all of them are the same. You can see that only the outer door part can open (about 2 feet wide). The main dividing wall is not moveable.
  18. Welcome to Cruise Critic @genie1953a! They only open part way as well. Enough to pass through but not enough to create a full veranda depth opening. I'll look for a picture...........stay tuned! ~Nancy
  19. Boy oh boy, you sure have anticipated ALL the questions that invariably get asked here!!! 😁 Good work!! I'm looking forward to those food pictures too! Thank you! ~Nancy
  20. You don't put your luggage out. You pack the bags and the stewards will move bags and your hanging items to your new cabin in the morning. They will give you a new room card usually the evening before. If you leave the ship use the old card to exit and the new one to reboard. What happens in port depends on which port you are docked. In the USA? ~Nancy
  21. Ooooooo Nice picture today Roy!! ~Nancy
  22. That is great news! ~Nancy
  23. Holland America Line does. You tell them when entering the dining room if you want to sit at a shared table. I prefer to eat by myself unless I have met someone previously and we arrange to meet for dinner, but I am always asked. ~Nancy
