  1. My version of a Manhattan that I have the bartenders make is dash of sweet vermouth and bourbon chilled a served up in a martini glass
  2. The last cruise the only rye they had was by Jack Daniel’s Yuck
  3. Actually you probably get less booze and just more volume in the drink. I’ll stick to mine and still consume 10+ per day
  4. I have my Mahattans up with just a tiny bit of vermouth. My wife drinks chilled Grey Goose vodka up no vermouth. Watching people ordering bourbon and coke dtrivrs me crazy They have but it is a heck of an up charge plus 18%
  5. Canadian whiskey is not my thing but Woodford Reserve and Buffalo Trace make fine Manhattans They also usually have Makers Mark just wish they would add Elijah Craig (my go to at home)
  6. We get that offer a lot. It is always for the Owners Suite.
  7. Woodford is always within the plus package as is Buffalo Trace. Now for rye very little choice on most cruises there are no great ones at least under $15
  8. The port is not very close. I agree a later time would be preferable. I would just stay over a few days and enjoy Rome
  9. We are over 500 days and only make the cut about half the time. We find that Alaska is the easiest to get due to all the families doing the bucket list thing. 7-10 day Mexico seems to be really hard a few months ago out of SF the cut off was over 600
  10. All ships have one open but many times it fills up fast and there is a line. A 2nd one will not be opened
  11. It would take an awfully lot of days to get up to the 400+ days it takes to make the cut on most cruises
  12. The patter will show the location and should be waiting in your stateroom
  13. The future cruise desk is strictly a high pressure sales team who are a 3rd party vendor
  14. Just like when there were smoking and non smoking areas
  15. No real difference but giving some cruisers what they have wanted for a long time which is old style traditional dining. That does not pair well with reserve and walk in MDR’s.
  16. I think it is more that the bib box stores ignore the e mails.
  17. No they want you to pay more to get a higher grade cabin
  18. That must have been a one off. On the last six ships I have been on the Gastropub did not take reservations and was never busy and the food was not all that great in my opinion
  19. I would call it “May be delivered to where you are or may not show up
  20. I will be boarding the Grand in just over 2 weeks for 14 days The last 3 trips were on the Emerald, Ruby and Crown.
  21. Too big for me and too much ship within a ship concept. Some of us old folks still like the smaller older ships. Most of our cruises are on the Grand class ladies
  22. I have never had to request a patter. They have always been left in my bed in the evening
  23. The only times I have needed to use the QR code to see a menu was at the height of the pandemic and that did not last that long
