  1. Milady are you assuming these will fit in the premier package ? I did not see anything about price but may have missed something
  2. Since you will probably take all your meals in 1 MDR I would give the tip envelope to the MDR manager to distribute. That is what we do to tip out the servers in Sabatini’s for suite breakfast
  3. Because I am very tired with people advocating dumping tips and actuality saying out loud when I hand my bartender an envelope telling me I am an idiot
  4. I would prefer deck 9 and go as far aft as I can. Just my preference
  5. Why not sightsee and then board after 1:00. We almost always catch lunch near the port and avoid the crowds
  6. The post I responded to had to do with booking this through their TA and seeing the charge on their invoice. It sounds like they are paying for something that may not even happen
  7. Under the envelope method many people just avoided their dining room and bar on the last evening to avoid paying and looking cheap
  8. They got them to the hospital which I believe their responsibility ends. A complaint that they didn’t arrange flights home I don’t understand
  9. The number of evenings that it is offered depends on chef and how many sign up. If they cancel it do you get your money back ? We stopped going years ago because it is way more food than we can eat and way expensive. We much prefer the Tuscan luncheons and other wine centric meals offered on board.
  10. We always take Plus because we like our cocktails and it saves us lots of money. W still get envelopes and tip out extra to steward, wait staff and favorite bartenders. Believe me when we see those people on a future cruise they do remember us and get incredible service
  11. Nothing would mollify most. They just don’t want to pay or they would be passing out tips to every person the the buffet who fetched them that free cup of coffee or the person who hands them a sandwich in the IC
  12. This argument has been going forever. Back in the day the MDR would be empty on last night as people went to the buffet to avoid the wait staff. Now they simply line up at guest services to remove the tips. Same people different method of avoiding paying tips.
  13. As far as I know there is no smoking in that venue and there is a door between the bar and casino
  14. There will be a large amount of b2b passengers and usually there is no rush to board since most ships don’t sail till after 8:00 from that port
  15. If they upped the cruise fare you would then find posters not believing it goes to crew
  16. Yes but wages in restaurants are very low some all the way down to the minimum allowed by law. There is no deception. Many restaurants now just raise their prices or add the gratuity to the bill so people will pay tips. I assume no one who objects to tips on this thread ever goes to a specialty restaurant since there is now a 18% tip added. If any of you do frequent these restaurants then I assume you know you are being hypocritical
  17. As far as I can tell from this thread there was no stabbing or injury caused by another it was a a rumor.
  18. The old Oacific Princess had slot machines in the casino bar area where there was a piano player. The slots never drowned out the piano player
  19. Ever cruise is different. You will almost always have some vibration when you come in to port. Movement will depend on the seas. Sometimes smooth other times it could almost shake you and wake you up. Worst seas we have had are on Hawaii and TransAtlantic cruises
  20. Likewise when we were last on the discovery. Bar and music very nice no slots
  21. That is a lot of questions. If you order from the door hanger no charge. If you order through room service or the app there may be charges for ordering depending on your package. Some food items have a price but will be listed
  22. Princess did not arrange my hotel pre or post cruise. They did not arrange my flight home. I would not expect them to get me home if I am injured When I was quarantined in Canada with Covid after a cruise I was in my own to get home If you get sick in Europe do you expect them to get you home ?
  23. Try doing an Alaskan 7 day cruise in the summer. Tons of families, kids and backpacks
  24. Just from experience everyone I know who sails HAL are all over 70. At least on Princess I feel there is a better mix and I am 73
