  1. I personally, think it is fine now with most people wearing mostly nice clothes but in the long run elegant will disappear. I do notice that some people dress up every night.
  2. Personally. I would not risk the cruise over something even a little questionable. I would order a new birth certificate from my birth state's vital records so I would have the proper paper work.
  3. I think there will be a high demand for FTTF.
  4. Once it returns, what will be the price? $79.00, $99.00, or 129.00?
  5. Yes, it worked fine. We were going to use documentation of recovery but at the last minute we retested so we could use VeriFly.
  6. Right, We did not spend a lot time in the area but we had to walk through the casino to transit from the shops to the ocean plaza area. I know they designed it this way to get more people to play.
  7. We just got off the Breeze, we main casino is still smoking and unfortunately, we had to walk through it while on the 5th deck.
  8. Brief observations on the Carnival Breeze our first cruise in several years. We arrived the port around 9:30 and found several hundred people also had that check in time. By 9:45 they began letting us in. The check in process went smoothly. For those who had passports and VeriFly it took about 5 minutes without that it took a little longer. Boarding began around 10:45. We were on the ship by 11:00 and did the muster drill before heading to Lido deck to find a table. Bottomless Bubbles: This worked well for us. The bars served the entire unopened can with a glass us ice, several times they severed us a chilled can. All of the cans were chilled in the coffee shop but they had limited selection. Several times they gave us extra cans to take to our room. We did give a few extra tips. Food: the food was generally acceptable but not outstanding. We ate in the main dining room each day. The service was slow at times, but it was not a problem for us. We usually got a variety of the appetizers most were good to excellent. There were no fried oysters, crab cakes, and escargot was gone. The main dishes and desserts were the same as we remember. One thing we noticed many people took dishes to go so we got cheese plates several times as a late-night snack. Guys burgers were ok but nothing special. Enjoyed some tacos and burritos. My family like the wok but it was often a 20 minute or longer wait. The buffet was hit or miss but we found many things that were good. There were long lines at times. I got up early to breakfast so there was not much of a wait. The eggs cook to order station was the best, The scrambled eggs on the buffet looked terrible so I did not try them but many other items were good. We ate a lot of fruit. We did go the main ding room twice for breakfast. Once for seaday brunch and once for port day. This was very good. Once they brought us too much bacon and could not find any salsa. Entertainment: We did not go to the main theater, or the comedy shows but we enjoyed all the entertainment in the smaller venues that we observed. We enjoyed trivia and hanging out in ocean plaza and the atrium. The cruise director was informative and entertaining. SPA cabin: We got an upgrade to a deck 12 spa balcony. As for the cabin it was not much different than a traditional balcony. There were slippers and robes, but ropes were too heavy for a summer Mexican cruise. We enjoyed the thermal suite at least once a day. They offered us no great discounts but as usual we did buy some of the overpriced services. We did spend a lot of time on the balcony watching the wave go by and listening to the sound of the ocean. Debarkation was a nightmare partly because of our decisions. We decided to use self-assist along with most others it seems. Being on deck 12 we found, the elevators arrived packed with people and their monster bags so it took us an hour to get on an elevator and had to ride separately. Next time we will check our luggage for debarkation so we can use the stairs. Once we got off the ship the process worked smoothly. With passports, the barely had to stop at a facial recognition tablet. Only question was from a Texas official at the door was about booze and cigarettes which everyone ignored. Overall, we had a relaxing and enjoyable trip.
  9. I did not mention that since I assumed most people know to tip.
  10. Unless you want in room coffee between 10 PM and 6am- it is totally free from room service. On our recent cruise, I called room service the night before and told them a time- the coffee showed up on time. They will just leave it by the door if you want.
  11. I do not think adults only fits any of the Carnival cruise brands business model. While it is true that some brands have less appeal to families with children. Several years ago on a Holland American Alaskan cruise, there were only six kids in the children club in my child's age range and only a 100 kid onboard in total.
  12. Agree except for the phone service- most companies now have shipboard plans. We just got off a ship and noticed many people using their phones. Our company AT&T text us when we got onboard a $100 per phone for unlimited text and calls, we did not buy it but others told me it worked fine. Our plan did included Mexico but we have problems with it.
  13. You good on the vaccines. You may want to consider using VeriFly that way you do not have to show the cards (but have them just in case.) Internet is still slow- we bought the middle package just for the last day it worked ok for Facebook but that was about it. Passport helps getting on an off the ship a little easier. We buy Travel Guard insurance. We got text messages and Facebook Messenger messages while in airplane mode with only the free internet but most cell phone companies have cruise plans- ATT is $100 per phone for unlimited text and calls- we did not purchase it. ,
  14. We just got off the Breeze, we noticed the elegant night dress code was not enforced in the anytime dining room- cannot speak to the set-time. There were ball caps, cowboy hats, jeans, and shorts. But with that said most people followed the dress code.
  15. We have had the same PVP for 10 years. He has been helpful since we usually book 2 years out, we have had to change the dates several times and he has always waived the $50 change fee.
  16. I received a questionnaire right after booking (for all of my 4 booked cruises.) I would call right away. But you do not upload them to Carnival but can upload them to VeriFly who will transmit them to Carnival, but you still need to bring paper copies.
  17. I just got back from a cruise after recovering. There is no need for a doctor's note. That was post several months ago but has been dropped now. We emailed this to our PVP a few weeks prior. All you need is a paper or electronic copy of the positive viral test result from a certified laboratory (dated no more than 90 days prior to the sailing date).
  18. Right now, I would not put money on a Carnival gift card that I could not afford to lose since we do not know the future.
  19. Try to watch some videos of your type cabin. It will be tight but almost anything is doable. Hopefully, it is not a monster scooter. Enjoy.
  20. We use Hobby when possible since it is smaller and closer to where we need to go in the Houston area. Carnival has transfers from both airports.
  21. It is because alcohol sold in Alabama waters have to be purchased through the state beverage control board so it is limit to those. Once the ship gets into international waters then the ship can sell booze purchased on the open market.
  22. I admit I have not been to Europe this century but in the past tipping was really not a thing in most of Europe. Has this changed? Even in here Western Hemispheric, I don't see much cash tipping on drinks even from those who I know have Cheers.
  23. Covid, the economy in general, war, and fuel prices may result in the Royal Carnival Line soon with a lot less ships and much higher prices.
  24. Right, that is why I give a small tip, not with every soda but at least a few times a day.
