  1. You can bring a couple envelopes from home or get them from the front desk for your extra tips. The bed configuration is not a big deal. It can be fixed quickly.
  2. Agree. Taking that short non-stop into a much longer one stop is pretty crazy, given the options available.
  3. Agree with just give the extra tip directly. As to bed configuration, just ask your cabin attendants to change it to what you want. Not a big deal to change it.
  4. I am curious why you thought these people might be credible?
  5. Another thing that varies by cruise line... Some cruise lines have spots to leave your bags until rooms are ready. Some cruise lines have the rooms ready when you board. Some Suite lounges will hold your bags.
  6. We didn't have water proof pants for a similar trip last year, and did just fine. We had minimal rain on our cruise...a couple hours on a day or two. If you are spending days hiking and camping, maybe you might need them.
  7. Whether the ship is on local time, or port time is a cruise line policy. Best to ask on the board for that cruise line. Most ships do switch to local time, but there are always exceptions. Carnival frequently doesn't switch to local time in PV.
  8. Really? Those other flights have seats available?
  9. I would think all cruise lines have released their summer 2024 schedules by now. There is no magic time to book. We don't know where you live, as various countries have differing rules on costs and abilities to change, cancel or re-fare bookings. In the US, typically, you can re-fare if the price goes down prior to final payment. After final payment, you can seek an OBC for some of the difference if prices go down. As to cruise line, we don't know you, your tastes or interests, so we can't answer if you should stay with NCL. Yes, waiting to see if you like NCL, and perhaps booking on board for a perk or discount is an option. You can do a lot of research on the NCL board to find out what benefits there might be to booking on board.
  10. Maybe ask on the Cunard board? Don't see how it has anything to do with HAL.
  11. If you look around the board, this is discussed frequently. Kihei is closest, followed by Wailea. There is a couple of beaches just to the east of the port, but they tend to be pretty windy. Uber/taxi is a choice. Bus might work. Otherwise rent a car.
  12. As answered on your other thread, Google search the port schedule about 2 weeks in advance of your sailing.
  13. Google search the port schedule about two weeks in advance. There are shuttle services provided if you sail and return to different terminals not near the same parking structure.
  14. I wouldn't change my entire vacation for the Dutch Cafe. You are going for Alaska, right?
  15. Pretty sure a passport is required for cruises that stop in Panama.
  16. Absolutely walkable. Take a look at Google Maps.
  17. I would be asking on the Florida Departures board, or looking at TripAdvisor.
  18. If they are phasing out us old folks, why do we get 2 or 3 ads a week from cruise lines?
  19. The ocean moves, so seas can be rough ANY time. Just have to be prepared every time you are on a ship.
  20. You will need to stick around and work with your cabin stewards to make the move. They will very helpful. But in most ports outside the US, you don't need to do any Immigration procedures.
  21. Usually? Not sure you can make that general a statement. I think there is some other info we are missing.
  22. Probably in the May or June. The schedule up to April was just released in the last few weeks.
  23. No way to change it. It is widely reported here the check in time is not enforced. Just show up and check in.
  24. There is a cost estimating feature in the Uber website. Make sure you use it at approximately the time you need the ride...8am on a Sunday morning, for example, if that is when you get off your cruise, to gauge demand. It's very likely Uber will be less expensive, unless you run into surge prices.
