  1. You have access to more info IF you join, but there is no charge and they never email you, so no big deal.
  2. Also, we agree with JWATTLE the interior layout does feel more spacious without the "pinchpoint" between living room and bedroom. Just our opinion.
  3. We have stayed in both D726 and D727. We said at the time that we would prefer B734/735 because they are a little smaller than Dolphin deck but with the same amount of shade cover. Just feels more comfortable for only 2 of us. However since then we have been doing Riviera deck suites because we enjoy the ease of access to the Concierge facility and its' amenities. We decided for anything less than 2 weeks we ca. Deal with the (much) smaller balcony.
  4. From Seattle they utilize Port Valet and there is no service fee, only the normal baggage fee by the airline.
  5. Following as well. Last I heard it was supposed to be done "before the end of 2023"????? We are not on her until April, but would like to make reservations as soon as we know for sure it has been changed.
  6. Couldn't agree more. We loved it and are looking forward to doing it again in April.
  7. Guess I got lucky then - 2 months ago booked a B2B, CA Coast and Mex Riviera in Full Suite. Booked as 2 separate cruises and last Friday I noticed a price drop so texted my TA and yesterday got confirmation of refared down. Saved $1400+ per cruise. WooHoo!!!
  8. Seems to me Thermal Suite, etc is nit complimentary on the Discovery because it does not have a Thermal Suite. We have been in Full Suites on Majestic and Discovery 4 times in the last 2 years (most recent in August of this year) and there is no complimentary access to anything in the spa area.
  9. If you try to do a booking for a suite on the Discovery, it actually appears there: "book a suite and receive an invitation to 360 dining experience". If you don't receive a phone call by 3 or 4 weeks prior to departure, you should call and question it.
  10. Yes, we use these as well. Very sturdy, secure and reusable.
  11. My dh has food allergies. When they called us with the invitation they asked about food allergies and the host of the 360 tracked us down (we were in the Piazza) the day before and confirmed the allergy. We felt very comfortable that they would substitute as needed. We had a great time and are looking forward to being back on the Discovery next April so we can do it again.
  12. Don't know but we are cruising out of San Pedro (Los Angeles) in April and October of next year and both departure times are 3:00pm.
  13. Totally agree - my only wish would be for little bit larger balconies. We have had the very large balconies in the aft PH Suites, but prefer the location of the Riviera deck PH Suites, mainly because of the proximity to the Concierge Lounge.
  14. Will be interested to hear how that works as we almost always split one pizza and each have a glass of wine or drink.
  15. Yes, it seems like all departure times have been moved up to 3pm instead of 4, which means everyone needs to be onboard by 1pm? Anyway, you should be fine time wise driving up from Fullerton. Enjoy!!
  16. We live parking at the port. Most times we stay in a hotel within a mile or two the night before then have a leisurely breakfast in the morning. Parking at San Pedro is easy, walk across the road, give your luggage to porter and board the ship. We usually let the crowds go first and then there is no stress at all. Get off the ship, grab your luggage, load in car and you are on your way home - easy. Peasy and the parking rate at Berth 92 and 93 is very affordable compared to airport parking.
  17. - - - and that is exactly why there are "choices". Glad you had a good cruise.
  18. We have done aft suites twice - both times on Dolphin deck. Yes, the balcony is huge (probably too much unless you plan on hosting a gathering). It is partially covered but we discovered on the Mexican Riviera cruise that if we wanted shade we needed to sit way back on the balcony, close to the cabin and I really like to be closer to the railing. We have also done suites right across from the concierge. We prefer these because we can easily get coffee or lattes (etc) early in the morning and snack throughout the day not to mention happy hour drinks in the late afternoon. Yes, the balcony is much smaller but for two of us it is enough. Also, the layout seems more open to us as opposed to the aft suites. Just our opinion, but I think that is what you asked for.
  19. We also agree the canapés are not good, but the last two times we had the chocolate covered strawberries the strawberries were very "mushy" and at least one of the strawberries was way past it's expiration date - yuck.
  20. We always do Bistro on embarkation day and Sabatini's later in the cruise. We like both for different reasons, but enjoy the food at both.
  21. Good to know as we will be on the Majestic again next year. Think Crown Grill might be a better location.
  22. 1st 2 things that come to mind: 1) Suite breakfast - on the Majestic it will be in Harmonyrestaurant every morning. Don't feel limited to what you see on the menu, they will get just about anything you ask for (within reason) and enjoy the mimosas and cappuccinos. 2) Take advantage of the Concierge lounge - early morning latte or coffee or espresso, juice and pastries; afternoon snacks and before dinner appetizers and wine/cocktails. Also, get any of your needs or questions handled by the Concierge- don't stand in line for Excursions Desk or Guest Services or Specialty Dining reservations. So convenient!!! Enjoy.
  23. Exactly - actually I was a little disappointed in how many people showed up in jeans, t-shirts and hoodies. I get that it is considered a casual event. But maybe smart casual would be more appropriate.
  24. We were unprepared for some reason and did not take any tip money with us. We felt terrible because at the end of the event we would have loved to have been able to tip. We did however, provide excellent reviews by name of all the individuals that served us that evening. We are very thankful that we are in a position to be able to share what little extra we have with such hardworking wonderful people who make our cruise experience so fabulous. Just our personal opinion.
