  1. To me if Virtuoso gave you the impression they were giving you $200pp sbc they should honor that comment. But really that isn’t much of an incentive when booking a cruise/
  2. Wishing you a great cruise and looking forward to reading all about your adventures.
  3. We booked a GTY for are December cruise about 3 months ago, surprisingly we got a suite number within 24 hours of booking with a great location.
  4. WOW! What a great detailed report. Really enjoying reading about your trip, thank you so much for taking the time. Wishing you great weather and enjoy your cruise.
  5. For us it’s very simple, we ask for coffee every morning. He or she brings it first thing, we never double lock are door. If the bedroom door is closed they set it on the dining room table -if were up not a problem, if we’re not up still not a problem. We just set the laundry bag near the front door, they handle it. If we need dinner reservations it’s never been a problem. Maybe one party during a cruise and if we don’t feel like going to one of the restaurants we do room service.
  6. I’m not sure, we don’t mind spending money on the upper suites. We enjoy the amenities, the extra space of the suite and the large deck area. Don’t even mind spending extra on some tours it we really want to see something. That said the Salt Tours don’t sound that great at those prices to me, I think you can do better with a private tour and cooking class.
  7. Think you are 100% right……..
  8. Never thought about it as we always do are own transfer to the airport. One would think once off the ship at the end of a cruise you are on your own—unless you have an airport transfer.
  9. Exactly, couldn’t agree more. An airline would never put you up at that hotel. stayed there myself a few times.
  10. Every line has it’s own personality- same has ship’s, each is it’s own and really depends on the crew you have and what you expect and want. I think you need to experience yourself. What is wonderful, great, super service is how and what “YOU” experience- everyone has a different experience on the same ship.
  11. Nice report, nicely balanced with your written statements and super nice photo’s. thank you so much for taking the time to write and post. I enjoyed the cruise and look forward to being on the Nova in December. Thanks again.
  12. Unfortunately most of the hotels are dumps, every if it’s only one night.
  13. For us we enjoy booking transfers hotel to ship ourself keeping us in control and comfort. Depending on how far the Port is—private car or taxi or Uber………
  14. We use Blacklane all the time during travel and never have had a problem. But we always book ourself never using SS transfer.
  15. I’ve never felt my Passport wasn’t safe when SS took them, we also carry a copy with us…just never has been a big deal.
  16. Thanks, looks great and even though we don’t drink I think we’re going to try it.
  17. I think hardly any tux’s tells you what people want. Great to hear about the entertainment, that is one thing that has been lacking. Everything sounds great looking forward to boarding her in December.
  18. Sorry, didn’t mean to be snarky. I just get tried of people thinking everything is the same, not just this line but every line. Again sorry it was taken that way.
  19. Thanks for the information, we’ve booked La Dame for our cruise in December—-again thanks for the update, looking forward to your writings.
  20. I’m sure that is true, but think about and believe what you want. If you think people that pay the price for the high end suites don’t get special treatment—or people that cruise a lot with them——-all lines do it, it’s just part of life.
  21. Because they don’t follow the facts, and don’t want the dress code to change—they just make up stuff.
  22. With air travel today we would never take a chance on missing the ship…we always arrive in the city where the ship will depart 2 to 3 days before the cruise. Believe it or not, we depart SFO 5 days before ship to leave Singapore….it was a non-stop and took us 3 days, ended up in Hawaii for 2 days and had a day and half to board the ship after arriving in Singapore. You never know what will happen…
  23. We haven’t boarded in Copenhagen, but I have to say checking in was one of the easiest we’ve ever done at Silversea. I wouldn’t worry at all.
  24. Wait, you can’t have it both ways. You now have a new dress code, so should follow it now?
  25. People say it doesn’t make a different - but in reality it does. Just ask your Butler, they can help a lot when you’re in a bigger suite. The maitre’d always ask for your suite number, why do you think they do that. We’ve never had to wait for a table and always got a nice spot in the dining room. We’ve also when we ask have never not gotten into a restaurant we wanted to eat at—we always make the request early in the day. If someone has something booked, they won’t move them-nor should they. But when possible they will get you what you ask for……….
