  1. Agree...love the set up of the bar area, but the brunch area just seemed like a different area of seating from the attached WJ. Not very special looking to me.
  2. Aww...thanks...you are sooo sweet to say so. 😉 And...once again we are off topic. The topic police will be showing up soon. 😄
  3. Yes, recently on B2B Serenade out of Tampa. In the past, well before Covid, we always enjoyed MTD. Now...we would not dream of doing so. It is traditional early for us. No waiting in line. MTD used to be on the top dining floor, now it is on the main floor, with 6:45 being the norm due to the estimate of when the first seating pax finish their meals. The MTD pax are simply led to a table when those pax leave. If too many of first seating decide to linger over coffee and dessert...it sets everything back. When we would leave our table on that main floor, there would be a line of grouchy pax waiting for a table (with or without reservations) out to the photo gallery. IMHO...MTD is a total fail program now.
  4. Welcome to Cruise Critic and the standard of "drift" that happens on long running threads. 😉
  5. Not only did we that booked the original full and quarter segments pay more, but now this is turning into simply a multitude of B2B cruises...all one way. IMHHO...not so special any longer, except I will still enjoy the itinerary of the half of it we are on. RCI must be hurting trying to fill this small ship....well after all the hype as all worn off.
  6. Congrats! I had a devil of a time when the original four quarters were finally released for booking, well after the cream of the crop of cabins were already snagged up for 274 day cruisers. I was able to book mid ship deck 8 balcony, but there were only two cabins left way back then.
  7. I still don't understand how balcony cabins could have been available at all this late....especially for different segments, which used to be booked as four quarters. Strange.
  8. I booked the first 1/4 leg (now a series of 3 legs) early in the morning the day they first came out. Had next cruise on Odyssey watching it and immediately put a hold on balcony cabin for me at 2 am. Even at that early time...if you did not get in for whole cruise, (they delayed 1/4 leg bookings) all the suites from JS and up were sold out. I have been stuck at balcony ever since. Can't upgrade, nothing available. Not sure why anyone would think the suites would suddenly open up now.
  9. Thanks! Looking forward to it. Has been many years since we did a river cruise, and that one was only a week. Three weeks will feel like heaven! 🥰
  10. If you do...welcome! I jump ship in LA, then back on again in Barcelona July 10th until the end.
  11. Happy to have found this thread as well. We are doing Viking Vidar European Sojourn from Bucharest to Amsterdam starting in mid Sept. Hope the river keeps going on this positive move forward. 🙂 Not sure if picking a Sept. to Oct. cruise is the best choice, but that is what we have booked.
  12. LOL...and our rep does not work on Fridays (or Saturday or Sunday)....so those business days are probably a four day work week. 😮
  13. A rumor is right. This person that posted that quote can't even get their facts straight. 🧐 Wonder is here in Port Canaveral...not Port Everglades. We were on for her first entry into her new home port here while on her TA last fall coming from Barcelona. Wonder will be here right on through 2025. I would not believe much of what cruiseexplorer posts.
  14. I booked half of the WC (two previously named quarter legs) now having also paid more, and .......I don't get the perks of the full cruise pax. 😕
  15. Thanks...not surprising with what I have already gone through...even before the cruise. 😕
  16. Why choose between the two? I have 23 day European cruise booked with Viking for September, and 14 night (B2B) on Empress for Snake and Columbia river next May. One of the biggest differences in price is an American based cruise. More stringent with regulations, and higher paid American crew members. Not to mention limited interior U.S. cruises to pick from (supply and demand). River cruise ships are also much smaller than Ocean cruises ships, which pack to the gills with pax, which allows them to price lower due to volume.
  17. Mine was cancelled within hours after I was bullied to pay in full to keep my promised website displayed discount. I was told 90 days. Will be surprised if they actually keep to that.
  18. I was told 90 days for my refund. Will be happy if they stick to that. But I have been told a lot of things that didn't happen since I booked my cruises.
  19. LOL! I eat veggie burgers...and love tofu. I have DH on board with the veggie burgers, but he won't eat tofu. 😄
  20. 3660 star link satellites already in space, which is approx. 50% of goal to over 7000 of them. 40 lost out of that total....not a big $$ hurt for Elon. 😉 I would call that a very tiny loss on a huge investment. Surprised the loss is that small.
  21. I have a B2B with American Empress booked doing the Columbia and Snake rivers next year. Have not even been on the cruise yet and have suffered a lot of mistreatment already with the booking. Bullied to pay in full well in advance to keep my promised discount, (told me it was website glitch showing discount) they cancelled the second leg within hours after I paid them in full as demanded. I asked to be rebooked on the next set of B2B, they told me they would have to charge a cancellation penalty fee to do so for that other leg that was not cancelled. Huh? AND wanted me to pay the extra for the price increase. Being the bulldog I am, I would not let it rest. After six weeks I was finally rebooked, though not the anniversary/birthday cruise I wanted, I did not have to pay anything extra now. I suppose if there are no problems with booking your reservation, this may be a good company to book with direct...but I would never do it again.
