Because it is an investment and more costly to do on older ships vs newer ones. If they can't charge a premium then it won't pay for the investment. They have them on all the new ships except Icon, just in smaller qtys than they had on the first few and they stopped adding them to existing ships during drydock
What Mike was saying is that only the letter has changed. On board it is still the same benefits and you can still ask them to do the same things as you did before.
Yes, she was one of the first ships to have them. The question was why the new ships do not. Royal went all in on them for a while even adding them to ships at drydock but subsequently scaled that back. None on Icon, scaled back on Wonder. Utopia and Odyssey. Oasis had a $100 + mil drydock and non added to her.
If the price never changed then they should have honored it. Otherwise it was an error or the price changed by the time you called back and it's time o move on.
Posting about what the rules were almost 10 years ago like they are still in effect today does nobody any good.
Your post made it seem current which it is not
"Wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole today since they suspended the dividend back in 2020 and the shareholder discount is still virtually impossible to use."
