  1. If it is obc thst is not showing up until on board it will be refundable. If not used it will be refunded to the cc on file at the end of the cruise.
  2. There are better ways to approach this that simply glaring at the kids and stating "you out" without even addressing the parents standing right beside the child.
  3. Cruise planner purchases are tied to the spot on the reservation and not the name so they should stay with the new guest with the exception of drink packages if an underage person replaces an adult. At least this is the way it has been in the past. Not sure if that has been recently changed
  4. Yep, that was the cruise we were on. That security guy was acting like he was on a power trip.
  5. At least in the Comedy Club and Quest Not sure when this started but on our cruise last week on Odyssey they were carding kids at the doors and security was going around removing kids who had made it in prior to the event starting. It is unlike before where they could be there with their parent, now it does not matter, if they are not 18 they are forced to leave regardless of whether their parents are standing beside them or not. I heard the same thing from a friend with a 17 YO on Icon last week. I am suspect that there started to be too many entitled parents who decided that their 12 yo was mature enough to go so they just made it black or white with no option for parental consent.
  6. Pretty sure they don't have insurance which is why they are asking
  7. Post Covid there are no exceptions. For the first 15 days you are in the 25% cancellation phase, after that you jump to the 50% phase, sound like you are right on the wire. Prior to Final Payment Due Date No Charge (except for Non-Refundable Deposit amounts) 89 to 75 Days Prior to Sailing...25 % per Guest 74 to 61 Days Prior to Sailing...50 % per Guest 60 to 31 Days Prior to Sailing...75 % per Guest 30 to 0 Days Prior to Sailing... 100 % per Guest
  8. We wandered outside the port gates a few years ago to get something from the pharmacy. Never felt unsafe. The only comment that the kids made was that the city smelled like the smoking area at school😂.
  9. Yes you can get a price drop. Just be careful, the prices that you see on Royals site are the non refundable deposit rates. You may not want to jump on that $20 price drop and then have your booking non refundable vs refundable, although if you are weeks away from final instead of 6 months out that could certainly change your thought process.
  10. As long as the cruise departs by the day on the certificate you are good
  11. In Canada it is provincially regulated but I know that Ontario has it. It covers failures of travel agencies, cruise lines and airlines. It protects anyone regardless of residence who was booked through an agent in that province
  12. There are also other North American jurisdictions that offer basically the same protections as the UK consumer laws yet still offer all the benefits of booking through a North American agent.
  13. I've never had to provide a clients address to book a cruise. It's not required to put in a state of residents either. It does ask for a zip code with the credit card payment but you are able to put in Canadian postal codes or similar codes from other countries
  14. And when was the last time you heard of one posting how their "consumer protections" actually helped them.
  15. You may be thinking of the 40% discount that you get off the bottle of wine if you have the unlimited dining package. Without the dining package you will need to use a drink voucher.
  16. Look at other cruise lines with smaller ships.
  17. Thanks for that update. Totally agree that with their included 2 perks their loyalty program really does not have a lot of benefits
  18. I had a client recently link their significant other and they had to provide proof of living at the same address...joint bill, name on lease etc. Looks like they are starting to check and enforce this since it seemed to be taken advantage of
  19. That is Celebrity and not Royal where the cabin mate shares the benefits
  20. Balcony discounts will in 90% of all cases will not be applied automatically to group rates. The agent needs to call Royal and have the booking "special fared" to reflect the balcony discount. Just another of those "quirks" with their system.
