  1. Was Starlink installed? I know it was not scheduled but hoping the schedule was wrong.
  2. The issue is when booking. On every ship suites are categorized as "The Retreat". You have to do digging and research to know the non revolutionized ships do not have a Retreat. If the Captain or an Officer on the ship did not provide the information, it's probably not true.
  3. My thoughts as well. Unless OBC was offered and OP accepted, although it should never have been offered. If you are overcharged you deserve your money back and nothing less.
  4. Not everyone who sail on the ships are from the same country. Perhaps there are no fine jewelry shops in the country.
  5. I thought people felt safer with a police presence? I have never seen the "gate" or armed guards in Labadee that are often referenced on CC. I'm 100% sure there are guards and RC is protecting the island 24/7/365. However, the "gate" and guards are not in plain sight. Conversely, I've witnessed armed guards walking down the pier in other ports but have not read threads on the safety. It's nice to have choices. You get too exercise yours by choosing a non Labadee itinerary but fear mongering isn't necessary.
  6. RC has many itineraries that do not include a port stop in Labadee.
  7. We can agree to disagree unless you have actual data vs an opinion. I have an upcoming cruise on the Beyond and will take notice on how many X customers are wearing a smart watch.
  8. Celebrity is a business in business to make money and keep stockholders happy. I'm sure the executive know about the bidding system. This is probably wasted time and energy. In every game there will be a winner and a loser. The winner is typically happy and the loser not as much. How does Move Up diminish brand loyalty or customer service?
  9. I don't care about Move Up. I pick the stateroom I want and pay the price but I'm not knocking anyone who chooses to participate. My point is that if you want to win, bid the max and you have your best chance. If you don't win, maybe it wasn't for you on that sailing. If you bid the minimum or slightly over the minimum someone will always bid more than you whether it's by an email invitation or their initial bid.
  10. Good deal.. I had a group rate but it didn't include anything extra just a refundable fare at the NR rate.
  11. I used the Princess app with relative ease. It worked better on a new ship where the technology was built in during the design vs added during a dry dock. When it works it works great. I am appreciative of being able to order food and drinks without leaving my seat or standing in a line. There are other nice features. More technology is the wave of the future. For safety reason I understand the tracking but on the other hand I don't like being tracked but my phone is doing it as well. Google is probably the most offensive with tracking you.
  12. Like any other game you win by giving it your all or bidding the max.
  13. I agree with the medallion. Princess definitely over shines RCG here. I disagree about the Apple Watch or any mart watch. Many people of all ages wear one. Maybe not to use the apps but just as a watch.
  14. I agree with marketing. It's no difference than the silly meter on the right side that indicates if your bid is weak or strong. Bid what your are willing to pay and move on. If you win great if not there is nothing lost. People get caught up in winning a bid and thinking they are getting a great discount by booking a less expensive room and winning a bid. The reality is Celebrity is a business to make money and not giving anything away. I bet more than half of the winning bids are overbids. Some people bid more than what they would have paid if they called and upgraded the room at prevailing rates.
  15. I don't buy the package to break even or beat the bar. By mid week the bar always win. I buy it for convenience and not worrying about not finishing a drink. On my last cruise the others in the suite did not want to purchase the package so I could not. I survived on my C&A drinks and suite lounge happy hour but I missed the package.
  16. Thank you for the clarification but wouldn't this be a huge discount? Sometimes the difference between the cruise only fare and the one with perks is over $800. How can a group fare be this different? Iunderstand the refundable deposit, which is huge. Perhaps this is why it cannot be moved to a group booking. The current reservation cannot go from NR to Refundable.
  17. I am confused. Why can't you just add the "extras" to your current booking with Celebrity? I understand the group booking is less but is it $200 less (non refundable amount)?
  18. Why not order a Daiquiri with simple syrup? What is the significance of Mexican Nationals repairing the dock?
  19. This is typical. Often these extras are added on the invoice and then manually removed on the back end. A new invoice will be mailed after the change is made.
  20. Holland America is not just an older demographic but yes mostly older. There will always be a market. The same as any other cruise line. This is what I was thinking as well. It's not like their will not be an older generation to replace the current older generation. All cruise lines are building bigger ships. if every cruise line has a 13% or similar increase then you are well over 50% increase when multiple ships are in port at the same time. I was in Mazatlan, Mexico with 3 ships in port and the port area was so crowded it was hard to walk. I hope the Allure never gets amplified. Refreshed yes but not amplified.
  21. It's hard to imagine you searched so long for a seat that your food got cold. Were you looking for a seat in a particular area? People made seeing a show a priority in their schedule and arrived early for a seat. You arrived later and I guess couldn't find a seat to your liking. As a result, this somehow becomes a negative cruise experience and fault of HA even though you chose when to arrive.
  22. Compensation does encourage people to self report. If not, highly contagious viruses such as COVID or Norovirus could quickly spread from one person to hundreds including crew members. This would cause more of an issue than giving someone a few hundred dollars as compensation even if it's just a good will gesture. The negative PR might hinder new reservations and cause some people to cancel.
  23. I've booked other cruises with pricing errors and Celebrity never cancelled. When their system crashed in July 22, there were some good deals to be found as the system was restoring. I booked two cruises that were great deals. One departed on a Sat and the other departed the next day. Obviously, I couldn't be on both. Neither was ever canceled until I cancelled one to make final payment. The one I cancelled was a 7N on the Apex in an AQ with the Elevate package for $1500 total as a solo. Their systems are not robust enough to find these errors. You will be fine.
  24. There is always room for negotiating. You never take the first offer. The worst someone can say is "no" but you don't know if you don't ask. I never use the Butler so I can take or leave this. Stocked bar is not a big deal either. I can bring a drink back from any bar. The only valuable things to me are eating in Luminae, priory boarding/disembarking, the suite OBC and suite lounge. I forgot my sea pass card because it's my souvenir from my trip. I haven't tried the IV yet. I have an upcoming Beyond sailing in one. I think I am going to like it. I don't spend much time on the balcony. There are not enough sunrises/sunsets off the ocean to see and I like the extra light in the room but hardly open doors and go out.
