  1. That sort of depends on what the other person's plans are and the type of travel insurance they have if they decide to cancel.
  2. Make sure you have travel insurance; Princess won't be treating covid any differently than any other illness.
  3. You can pay cash.... €3 per person.
  4. I understand New Brunswickers can be sensitive to the spelling of Saint John; probably much like the people of Newfoundland and Labrador would like to see St. John's properly spelled. Imagine the problems with Sydney, NS and Sidney, BC.
  5. Right you are. Here is the website: https://cruisebus.barcelona/en/
  6. If you decide to stay over, I suggest you look for a hotel in the Cavendish Square area of the downtown.
  7. Those are not from the EDGE. The azipod has five propeller blades, the diameter of the blade rotation is about 6m and the propeller assembly (blades plius hub) weighs in at about 25T.
  8. I'd certainly recommend a couple of full days (but I already lived/worked in St. John's so have an experience advantage!). In addition to the activities you identified, a walk up Signal Hill and visit to Cabot Tower is a must do. Pok8ng around on Water Street is a good way to pass some time. There should not be any icebergs in September, 2024.... that sort of comes to an end in June.
  9. I keep the official website/app for different countries' electronic travel authorities in a dedicated folder on my tablet. Over the last few years I've seen so many people referring to unofficial sources and posing questions about prices, timing and other oddities that likely could have been avoided by starting with the official source. A thread documenting known official sources would probably prove useful to many CC members. I'm not planning on being the OP for it, though I would contribute and try to help keep it 'clean'.
  10. It's difficult to fully appreciate your comparison/analysis without knowing which cruise line/ship you're sailing on. We have to have a lot of faith in your opinion(s) without the benefit of being able to draw any of our own due to lack of basic detail.
  11. There is a little extra detail in the AP story explaining how the judge came to find Carnival (Princess) negligent. Don't know why the BBC didn't include it. https://apnews.com/article/covid-cruise-negligent-carnival-ruby-princess-a396439081417fe7863e5f506e62e6ad
  12. I'm thinking there is an excellent chance that will happen (delay to 2026.... and beyond).
  13. Boy, those French! They have a different word for everything.” ― Steve Martin
  14. Not much leeway on getting around the requirement for guests 1 and 2 in same cabin to have same package. You can purchase the package onboard at same price (must be done first or second day onboard) and conditions of same package for the two cabin passengers remains.
  15. I believe I may have seen that. Does Viking require 'early' fare payment?
  16. Can you list (excruciating detail not expected) the additional items provided by Viking over the course of the cruise that brings the total overall cost closer? I presume such things as provided excursions?
  17. Step 5 always happens when going to US from Canadian airports with US CBP pre-screening i.e. YUL. I have to go through same rigamarole if I fly from YOW to US through YYZ ..Not a Canadian requirement.
  18. I assess that itinerary as very low risk; would not hesitate to stick with my original plans.
  19. I've stayed at the Novotel Brussels off Grand Place and believe that will meet all your needs at a decent price.
  20. I certainly understand. And yet, depending on the time of day/night you're planning on getting a bite to eat, a Big Mac may very well end up on the menu.
  21. Vaccines for a Panama Canal transit? I'm unaware of anything special/necessary for that.
  22. Yes. We recently stayed at the Premier Inn Gatwick North Terminal and it checks all your boxes. https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/england/west-sussex/crawley/london-gatwick-airport-north-terminal.html
