  1. Take the starboard side for best views of Valletta from your (exterior) cabin when entering port.
  2. If I were you, I'd do it now. I agree with advice in a recent Globe and Mail piece... https://www.theglobeandmail.com/investing/personal-finance/household-finances/article-travellers-the-best-time-to-book-flights-and-hotels-is-now-why-sales/
  3. Whew. At first I thought you wrote no togas in the MDR but I see I'm OK.
  4. I don't think it's really intended to speed things up; more to screen out unwelcome individuals prior to traveling to Schengen countries.
  5. I recommend you find yourself a good book and go to the airport to read it.
  6. Has anybody done a S2S with Princess in Fort Lauderdale recently? If so, what was the procedure and/or what did you do?
  7. No doubt the notion of 'up to date' will vary across jurisdictions. In Ontario, here is what the most recent thinking is on that... COVID-19_Up to Date.pdf
  8. Here is a link to the current requirement for coronavirus vaccination and card in Japan (see para 3). Japan does not use the term 'up to date', they simply indicate three shots. Kind of moot at this point, unless things change and that's always a possibility. If you want to save some space on your carry-on luggage by leaving your card at home, entirely up to you.
  9. Well, here is a link from the UK government (the actual date I got from a travel site.... it's not so important given the UK info): https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/nicaragua/coronavirus Here is an updated US State Department page... see the entry requirement portion: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/Nicaragua.html
  10. I think your link is out of date. I believe requirement for proof of vaccination was lifted on 22 July, 2023. Although we take our proof of vax withnus when we travel.... just in case.
  11. I doubt the booking would end up being honoured. According to you, it's clearly being published in error and you'd be knowingly taking advantage of that. Go ahead and make a booking and let us all know how it turns out.
  12. The story likely reflects the experience of somebody (or a couple) who applied for a 600 Visitor Visa (medical check required for over 75s) rather than the 601 eTA Visitor Visa which has no such age/health requirement.
  13. Yup... I'd say the decision was made to make a run for Vancouver rather than sit idle in an Alaskan port and throw off the entire schedule for the current and next cruise. https://weather.gc.ca/marine/region_e.html?mapID=01
  14. And I'm curious why you think the complaint about slamming doors has ruined somebody's vacation. I haven't seen that sentiment expressed in the discussion. Slamming doors, at least from my perspective, are intrusive, annoying and disruptive. I understand it's going to happen from time to time; it would be considerate of people to try to keep it from happening on a regular basis.
  15. That's good you did not have a problem. It's irrelevant whether you got off the ship in Canada; the problem would have arisen when the ship cleared Canadian immigration.
  16. Pretty noble sentiments, but I wouldn't bother... it just places a burden on Carnival to ensure you don't have a weak moment and enjoy something you've earned by being a loyal customer.
  17. What does any of that have to do with the passport validity period required to travel?
  18. I think you need to say why somebody should have a passport with at least six months validity, and preferably a year.
  19. This Fact Sheet is pretty clear on the requirement(s) for closed-loop cruises: fieldops-whti-fact-sheet.pdf
  20. Pay the additional $20 and take the earlier tour with the idea of taking an earlier train to Civi.
